Hi Ed, reported this morning that United are in advanced talks with Monacos playmaker Bernard Silva! I know you mentioned we were interested in him a while back, so could this rumour have some legs? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United have watched Bernardo Silva of Monaco on several occasions over two seasons, including during internationals. He is an unusual player in that he is naturally left footed but is most effective on the right wing. He has also played as cover in defence and was previously seen by Fiorentina as an option to replace the similar Juan Cuadrado when he made the move to Chelsea. Chelsea made an approach this season to Monaco but were told they did not want to sell him given the level of interest in a number of their players. Manchester United has held discussions with his agent but are aware of Monaco's position. Atletico are still awaiting the outcome of their appeal so they are in a difficult position to try to negotiate right now. Juventus and Manchester City have also watched him this season and he may be a player they look to again as an option but I doubt it right now. Interest of Barcelona and Bayern Munich has gone, at least for now.}

If we were to sign Bernardo Silva would that rule us out of moving for Griezmann ed?

First time user, just wanted your opinion on the Gundogan rumours this morning in the English and German press? Possible, or agent using United?

As stated above mate I'd take him in a heartbeat but the ED has already told us it is unlikely and his info is usually pretty solid!

Frank , it seems that Gundogan has regained his fitness , but from reports that I have read , he has some way to go to regain his pre-injury form. Admittedly , this is an opinion formed from reports though , as I have only seen him play once or twice since his return.
That said , if he can regain his form , and there seem to be no reason why he shouldn't , he would be worth a punt in my opinion. Before his injury , he really was a top class player. If he can recover that form or close to it , I would love to see him in a United shirt. I would imagine too , that he would cost considerably less than he would have 2 years ago , though that is just a guess.

Having said all that , I did ask Ed002 a while back if we still held an interest in the player , and I seem to remember him saying that interest had moved elsewhere. That was a few months ago now mind , so things may well have changes.

Maybe Ed002 has some more up to date information that he would be kind enough to share with us?

So Ed002 , do you know if Gundogan is a genuine target for United , and what is your view on his likelihood of regaining his add-injury form?

{Ed002's Note - Gundogan was refusing to agree a new deal and Dortmund were willing to let him leave as he was seen as a shadow of his former (pre-injury) self. A couple of clubs were interested, including Manchester United, but a recent approach about his availability was responded to that a three year extension has been agreed between the club and player and details are being finalised.}
