What is realistically needed for the squad to challenge for the title next season and establish ourselves in the Champions League once again??

It's coming to the stage of the season where our beloved United are linked with virtually every player.

What do you see for us this summer? There will be people departing and obviously a few additions to our squad but where exactly do you feel we need to strengthen??

I would love David De Gea to sign a new contract and stay for a good few years yet but will the pull of Madrid be too much. If this is the case then for me we need to use De Gea as a bargaining tool for Bale.

I would prefer De Gea to stay as he shown just how fantastic a keeper he is over the last 2 seasons. For us to challenge on all fronts we need a TOP CLASS KEEPER and for me who out there is better?? Nobody for me.

With Valdes in reserve we stand in good stead for keepers if De Gea stays.

RB for me is a place that we certainly need to look at as LVG does not have faith in Rafa and although Valencia is doing a job, we need to be looking at this position. Dani Alves is not the player I would want to walk through the doors in the summer. NO SELL ON VALUE, LIABILTY DEFENSIVELY and can be a loose cannon. The talk of Clyne seems to be getting stronger by the week and I would like to see this happen. Young, talented and English. Out of contract soon and I think Chicharito could be used as a make weight in this deal.
CB is a must. I think its the end of the road for Evans at the club now. With Smalling signing a new deal and Jones starting to establish himself, I think Evans will go. McNair and Blackett are in the wings and learning and LVG clearly likes them and we also have Rojo who can be used in other positions.
Hummels, Laporte or Varane for me to come in.
I like the look of our LB position with Blind and Shaw and this does not need altering.

Well what do you think???

HOw about our midfield and striking options.

Have your say!!!!

Think what you've said is spot on, in midfield I'd like to see someone like veratti or Gundogan to come in, although I don't know how likely either of those would be. Depay looks like he could be on his way which would be a brilliant signing. Not sure about a striker though, looks like falcao won't be staying, and if we continue to play a 4-3-3 we only need one of Rooney Wilson and rvp, so adding another player to the squad might damage Wilson's development.

Agree with what you've said. I think another right back is necessary as Rafael looks like he'll be moved on. Another center midfielder that can add some physicality and tenaciousness. If De Gea ends up leaving then another keeper to challenge Valdes for the number 1 shirt. An experienced center back to compete with smalling, jones, rojo, McNair, and Blackett. and potentially a promising wide/attacking player such as Depay. I don't see the striking department as needing much improvement, as hopefully Wilson gets more game time next season. Perhaps a low profile young striker to be brought in for depth. If LVG manages to make solid signings in this areas while also getting rid of the likes of Cleverly, Nani, Chicharito, Evans, and unfortunately Rafael, then I would consider it an incredibly productive transfer window.
