Hi Ed's,

Any truth in the rumour Aubameyang has handed in a transfer request?

Also quick post on the possible singing of Perisic. Personally I think it'd be a good singing sub £40m. He got 16 goals and 10 assists last season playing out wide in a team that came 7th. He's strong, and tall so would have less trouble adapting to the PL.

I'd say go for it.

HarryUTD

{Ed004's Note - It looks highly likely that Aubameyang will leave this summer with PSG the most likely destination}

1.) 30 May 2017 13:45:09
Thanks Ed004 for the quick response :-)

26 May 2017 13:05:14
If any of the Ed's are about, can you let me know if Douglas Costa is someone Utd are looking at?

HarryUTD

{Ed004's Note - I don't think we have shown any interest however I think Spurs have}

1.) 26 May 2017 16:14:26
Thanks Ed004. Shame really, as he'd be a good signing and i believe Bayern want rid.

Hi Ed's

I have checked the posts but can't find anything on this guy.

Apparently (according to Sky Italia) United are looking at 22 year old Albanian right back Elseid Hysaj.

Any idea if it's true or not? He was quality last year in the Serie A apparently.

HarryUTD

{Ed002's Note - Napoli's Elseid Hysaj remained of interest to Arsenal and Barcelona after Chelsea, who looked at him as a potential replacement for Ivanovic, decided not to pursue their interest. Both were disappointed that he has signed a new contract after a further approach by Arsenal in late September 2016.}

1.) 16 Nov 2016 21:35:32
Thanks for replying Ed002!

Do you know if RB is a position united will look at at all in January?

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in one particular right back, so possibly.}

2.) 17 Nov 2016 12:35:20
Any hints Ed002? Or shall I wait for the podcast?

3.) 18 Nov 2016 00:32:04
Just wait.

Pogba seen in wings! LVG LOVES THAT PLACE!

'Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, 25, has withdrawn from the Argentina squad so he can be fit to face Everton on 17 October. The defender has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury.'

My love for Rojo grows with everything little thing he does.

He loves Manchester United.

HarryUTD

1.) 07 Oct 2015 12:17:03
Is he not just injured so pulled out?

2.) 07 Oct 2015 14:56:20
Hmm

He has missed games pretty much all season and if showed up to play for Argentina, then i would say we have a problem fit for country unfit for club.

3.) 07 Oct 2015 16:25:27
I'd say he loves being here, but is he good enough? And he clearly has no real bond with LVG - letting him go would be a shame. Above all he is versatile and experienced at the top level so is worth a position in the 23 man squad.

4.) 07 Oct 2015 16:53:36
Who actually does have a real bond with LVG? You can see most of the players don't particularly like him but they do there job for the team and remain professional.

5.) 08 Oct 2015 12:27:02
I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere about Harrys love for Rojo and pulling out. Lol.

6.) 08 Oct 2015 13:16:06
As soon as i posted that i saw those 4 words Shappy, hoping no-one else would notice.

Moving away from transfers for the minute.

Great quotes coming from Jose on our main man Ander Herrera. I assume we've all seen the video of Herrera pushing Mkhitaryan into the box in the Europa League Final, seconds before he then goes and scores.

Pundits covered it as Herrera assuming the Mkhitaryan is better in the box than him but Jose has said that Herrera said he also did it because Micky was on a yellow card and wouldn't be able to tactically foul to stop a counter attack. Herrera on the other hand didn't have a card so was free to do so.

Get the man an armband now, and tell Barcelona they can F**k off!

HarryUTD

1.) 12 Jun 2017 13:39:55
😀 absolutely Harryutd.

2.) 12 Jun 2017 14:12:43
Completely agree. Didn't he assist that goal against Leicester by shouting at Mata from the half way line?

He's the stand-out leader in the team right now. He deserves a lucrative new contract and the armband.

3.) 12 Jun 2017 17:24:17
Herrera is the stand out candidate for the captaincy.
Last year jose passed it around on length of service. Toni V can't speak English well so its an issue for media. Carrick won't be starting too many i guess. He leads by example. i'd have one request and that is that he stops the play acting and hysterical screaming and feigning injury. Other than that he is perfect captain material but he needs to cut out the dying swan act its not befitting a united captain imo leave that to the ramos and costas of this world.

4.) 12 Jun 2017 17:30:17
He did indeed Wazza.

19 May 2017 17:01:39
How does everyone on here feel about Rojo?

I think if he comes back from this injury in the same vein of form he go it in, then he should 100% stay. We only lost 1 game he was playing in this season and that was the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea (which he came on at half time for), in which pretty much every player was accountable.

We've conceded 11 goals in the 20 games he played in and no team has put more than 1 goal in a game past him. Now I used to not rate Rojo but mainly because i never saw him as the LB LvG was trying to play him as. Personally at CB, for me, he is our second choice.

I'm not saying we shouldn't go for a CB as we 100% should, and whoever we get in will probably partner Bailly in CB. However is Lindleof a better choice than Rojo? Should we be spending £40m+ on Lindelof?

Personally it goes back to my point a week or so back about smart buying. Yes Lindleof would be a fancy new name but to me i don't see him being a much better choice than Rojo.

HarryUTD

1.) 19 May 2017 17:10:07
Not good enough for me, although I still put him above Smalling, Blind and Jones and he is my second choice as well.

All of our CB's look decent because of the way we play. He is awful on the ball, dopey, not particularly good in the air, injury prone and the king of HOOFS. I could handle him as a backup, but we need much better than Rojo if we expect to win things and more importantly play without always worrying about how dodgy our defence is.

Whatever happens he is an absolute fiasco as LB, not one good game there, so there should be nobody saying the words "versatile" as a benefit, it's like saying Rooney can play CM! lol.

2.) 19 May 2017 17:12:06
I think Rojo has easily been our second best CB this year. But your stats are slightly misleading, for a start all things being even Rojo should have been sent off on at least three occasions this year. That could have cost us points.

I think Rojo is a solid third choice CB, but we need either a world class or potential world class player to come in and partner Bailly long term.

3.) 19 May 2017 17:19:49
In the kingdom of the blind the one eyed man is king. Alternatively, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

4.) 19 May 2017 17:22:39
Beast - I don't agree, he's actually quite good on the ball and has an 88% pass accuracy this season. As for the comment about him not being good in the air - I really can't understand where you're coming from on that one. Maybe i don't pay much attention to his missed headers.

Shappy - All stats tend to be misleading to be fair, but they don't half sound good. He's rash but you can't say he's a lot 'rasher' than Bailly with his tackles. Agree with needing a world class CB though. No idea who's out there and available though.

5.) 19 May 2017 17:23:21
He's awful, get rid. Panic buy for a "left footed left centre back". Stupid policy of LVG. I don't recall Vidic or JT struggling in that position.

6.) 19 May 2017 17:25:13
This time last season I wanted Rojo out, but it's been a proper 180 turn for him this season. Looks like Mourinho has got the best out of him and he deserves another season at the club as at least the 3rd choice CB.

7.) 19 May 2017 18:01:44
Not for me. He did ok this season but ok is 6th can't see us winning a league having to play the likes of Rojo fellaini darmian 20 plus times a season
We need to get shut of these players. Yes squad players are required of course but i'd rather rely in tuanzabe tfm and the likes.

8.) 19 May 2017 18:11:05
Definite stayer as a squad player for me, i'd keep him but we need better for our strongest defensive 4.

9.) 19 May 2017 19:45:30
I would definitely keep Rojo, he has done a solid job this season. I agree I don't see him as a LB but should Mourinho decide we need to follow the trend and do a back three I think he would do a good job on the left side of a vocal CB leader.
Jones and Smalling out before Rojo for me.

10.) 19 May 2017 21:32:34
I'd sell Jones, Smalling and Blind before him. D cent back up.

11 May 2017 13:37:12
Here's one for you. What would be your Manchester United Team of the Season?

Mine would be;

De Gea
Valencia Bailly Rojo Blind
Herrera Pogba
Lingard Mata Rashford
Ibrahimovic.

HarryUTD

1.) 11 May 2017 13:46:37
Harry
I would pretty much agree with that, maybe the wig in for linders.

2.) 11 May 2017 14:13:14
If the Wig doesn't make the top 11 he is surely runner up. those red cards really screwed us. also Romero in the EL needs a nod as well.

3.) 11 May 2017 14:23:13
Agree with Jred. Like it or not Fellaini has been one of our better players this season.

4.) 11 May 2017 14:45:15
Interesting when you lay the team out like that Harry. We have played well over 60 games and looking at the team (which fundamentally is hard to argue too much with, the cases for replacements are there, but nobody would be going crazy about it), can't think of too many stand out performances from half that team.

Rashford, Mata, Lingard - done pretty much nothing this season, played in fits and starts so to speak. Blind done absolutely nothing as well but still makes the team, shows how bad the others have performed if they are all making the team of the year.

Then you have Pogba who has done no more than ok, with Rojo another late comer to the party this season who has done well no doubt.

Makes you realise that if that is our best performers (or close to it) then no wonder we have been rubbish most games this season because most of them have been anonymous most of it. Half that team will all be thinking they have had poor seasons or certainly know they need to do more. The ones not mentioned need to take a long hard look at themselves (Fellaini possible exception) .

5.) 11 May 2017 14:51:48
Would agree with that Harry, how about dream team for next season? (realistic)

De Gea
Semedo Lindelof Bailly Tierney
Herrera Pogba
Mkhitaryan Griezmann Rashford
Belotti.

6.) 11 May 2017 15:09:51
Beast
I agree with that a lot of them have been under par .
I was really looking forward to seeing miki this year but he has struggled, with a bit of luck he will kick on next season .
He will have to tho, he is 29 next year so time not on his side needs to find his feet early next season.

7.) 11 May 2017 14:58:12
De Gea

Semedo Lindelof Bailly that young Spanish fella

Fabinho Pogba Herrera

Griezeman Mhiki Martial.

8.) 11 May 2017 14:59:33
Dear gea,
Tony v Bailly smalling Shaw
Kroos fabinho pogba
Bale rashford martial.

9.) 11 May 2017 17:13:53
Have to agree with you Beast.

Very sad that not a lot of those players would get over a 6/ 10 for this seasons displays. I think Bailly/ Herrera and Tony V the only ones close to an 8.

Just voted for Herrera Player of the Year as well.

10.) 11 May 2017 17:22:57
Fellaini has three functions:

A: loose the ball
B: commit a foul
C: pass backwards

90% of the time he does one of the afore mentioned and I for one cannot wait till he's gone. I find him extremely frustrating to watch, I'm surprised this doesn't now appear to be the general consensus. Agree with all the other comments though.

11.) 11 May 2017 18:46:24
DDG
Valencia, Bailly, nobody, nobody
Carrick, Herrera
nobody, nobody, Rashford
Zlatan.

12.) 11 May 2017 19:16:53
Agree with the team pretty much - only others with a shout would be Carrick, Fella and Mikhi but none of those have excelled. Also agree with Beast that this is the stark reality of why we've been so poor, as half of that team have not been great this season! Only Ddg, Tony V, Bailly, Ibra and Herrera have played to the required level or higher. I don't blame this all on the manager - I think both player and manager share responsibility when it comes to individual performance levels. To be fair, some players have done better than expected when played e. g. Rojo, Tony V, Jones, Fella, Lingard. Again the praise for those performances should be shared between the manager and the players themselves.

It's interesting to note that none of the three behind the ST have excelled this season when this area has often been seen as a strength! Maybe we do need Griezmann after all - either that or the likes of Martial, Rashford and Mikhi must step up. We will certainly need to spread the high performance levels out further next season in order to compete on all fronts. One shining light is that the likes of Pogba, Martial, Mikhi and Rashford should naturally improve with age and/ or EPL experience.

08 May 2017 13:36:53
Whats everyone's thoughts on trying to sign Mahrez? He's still a brilliant player and i'd love to see him in a UTD shirt. Again prem proven and Leicesters situation this season will have knocked a couple million off his asking price.

HarryUTD

1.) 08 May 2017 14:28:35
It watched him this season, has he played well? No one seems to be praising his performances. I suppose last season with how Leicester performed, they were all getting superlatives.

2.) 08 May 2017 15:14:36
Mad - He still seems to have to ability to play with defenders at will. Great shot on him also. I think Leicester haven't been in the spotlight so much since they got rid of Ranieri. I'd take him for £25-30m.

3.) 08 May 2017 15:47:08
Another winger who isn't exactly quick? How many do we need like that?
Mata, Mkhi?
Its a wrong signing.

4.) 09 May 2017 12:54:59
Mahrez is quite fast isn't he Rohan?

Difference between Mahrez and Mata for me would be there ability to take on a man. Mahrez can do that whereas Mata can't.

08 May 2017 12:49:38
The end of the day, United need to spend another £150m to compete for the title. We've already spent a absolute fortune on players that have not cut it or simply aren't going to help us win the title. So i think the best way forward now would be smart spending. Ensuring that we do not have to spend another £200m next summer.

So for example, and this is only my opinion, but i think we should be going for Lukaku ahead of Griezmann. Lukaku is a proven Premiership striker who has scored 20+ goals in all competitions for the last 3 seasons. We haven't had a striker with 20 goals in all comps since Van Persie in the 2012/ 13 season (other than obviously Zlatan this season - who will probably leave this summer. )

I am not doubting Griezmann's ability nor suggesting he wouldn't cut it in the prem, but can we afford to take the risk when he will probably cost £20-30m more than Lukaku and would have to 'adjust'. This is why i think 'smart' spending would be a lot better.

Obviously i'd also go for Kane but we know what Levy is like and he would cost us the moon if spurs were to sell him at all.

HarryUTD

1.) 08 May 2017 13:58:15
TBH Harry, i think you are right.

Also i'm not sure how Griezman fits with a team that has Pogba in it.

2.) 08 May 2017 14:22:58
Harry, I think that Jose will look for a striker that fits his usual mould (Drogba type) . If
Based on posters comments about that I think that will be either Lukaku / Morata / Beloti
We may also go for an additional attacker such as a Bale / Griezman/ Wilian but that will be secondary.

The Ibra mistake was basically the fact that he is 35, his wages are abhorrent, he blocks the development of Martial and Rashford in that no.9 spot, he altered our style of play because when we could find a route to goal we resorted to lumping balls to him, which he was often to lazy to chase.

He's arrogant and would never be dropped. Thanks for the goals but we need to get rid now. We all know he won't take a bench spot so there's no point suggesting it.

If United want to build for the future it can't involve Zlatan.

I have the same reservations Ed, the heading worries me, especially against the big strikers, although Blind managed to cope.

Semedo would be a great signing and he can learn from Tony V.

Different opinions then Schmid, personally didn't see that much from him. Also i'll ask the same question as Ed004 - what did you make of Lindelof?

I think he's a solid CB who'll fit in well in the premier league. If the what the papers say is true (35m Euros), then its a good buy. Although i will say he isn't that good cover as right back. If i had to liken his performances at right back to someone it'd be Rojo when he plays LB. Good tackler but offers nothing going forward.

HarryUTD

{Ed004's Note - From the little I have seen of Benfica Lindelof looks like the ideal partner for Bailly. He reads the game very well, covers for Luisao and is excellent on the ball. My only concern is that neither Bailly or Lindelof seem dominant in the air although both are about 6 foot 2. I'm hoping negotiations are taking this long because we want Semedo as well. He seems the better player and a top prospect}

I'd assume the plan went out the window with the sacking on LvG.

If i remember correctly LvG was basically supposed to do what he does best - i. e. get young players in, promote youth players and get them comfortable in the premier league. Establish a young, talented team that could challenge for the league, then hand the reigns over to Allegri.

HarryUTD
