Bayern s formation is 4-0-5-1

1.) I'd go as far to say that it's a 2-6-1.

2.) Fresh, where is your 10th outfield player? I see where you are coming from, but just curious as to where you would put him.

What did everyone think of Baily's performance at right back? I thought he played like a CB, really solid and didn't give Zaha the time of day. I was also surprised to see him create 2 good chances going forward. He really is a beast of a player, with a bit of class too, giving a fan his shirt when he was leaving though he was obviously hurt. Mou said the knee he hurt was the left one, not the one that he was recovering from so hopefully he'll be back by Xmas.
Loved the game last night, Pogba really seems to be growing into the player we expect him to, Ibra is Ibra and Jones/ Rojo keeps surprising me. I just wish Rojo was more careful with his tackles. Mou must be liking the pair together that's why he put Baily at RB when everyone was expecting Jones there so that's a good thing.
Too bad for us everyone above us bar Arsenal won their games but there'll be chances to catch up, we only need to keep winning ours games.
Onwards and upwards.

Commented on it last night on the live chat. Thought he looked really good there. Like Toni with his strength, if not quite as quick, and has excellent distribution. Obviously not as dangerous going forward as Toni, but in games where we need a more defensively-minded full back, he's now given us another option.

2.) 15 Dec 2016 14:07:40
He is a RB and a CB, so its not that surprising that he can play. Right back.

3.) 15 Dec 2016 19:42:41
To be fair, I'd never heard of him before we signed him, never mind if he could play right back!

4.) 15 Dec 2016 20:36:15
I watched him play in the ACON before he signed for Villarreal and he looked raw as ropes but you could see there was talent there. He's turning into a beast of a player.

Happy for Rooney, just 3 more goals to beat Sir Bobby's record. Stuff of legend that.

Gary Neville is having a nightmare with Valencia, and am not trying to bash the guy but I think he is learning quickly that being a good pundit doesn't make him a good coach.

I seem to remember a lot of posters saying they would prefer Gary over Giggs, I wonder if maybe they are reconsidering. Personally I want neither, I'd like an experienced but not too old coach to take over in the summer.

I hope Valencia starts to improve because the guy is a legend but the way things are going, I doubt he'll last the season.

{Ed033's Note - If i was Pep and had the choice between Man City, Chelsea and Man United, i'd pick Man United as they're a bigger club worldwide and because it's more of a challenge to prove myself.

1.) 31 Jan 2016 21:54:57
Unfortunately ed033 I think he is City bound. I agree with what you said. In terms of managers what Fergie achieved, that is the challenge that every manager should try and replicate.

{Ed033's Note - It's possible Pep hasn't been asked about the united job, but at some point it would be nice to know whether he was offered it.

2.) 31 Jan 2016 22:18:40
I hope pep thinks like you ed, and Gary Neville took a difficult first job in management, not easy going to Spain to take on a big club, language Barriers etc. maybe he should have took a job in England first, or stayed with sky for the rest of this season, won't be getting the United job anytime soon.

{Ed033's Note - Yes big challenge but i think the guy deserves credit for having the courage to take on something that was probably too much as if he failed it meant consequences for the future as he'd be seen as a failure.

3.) 31 Jan 2016 22:50:16
Valencia as a club is a mess. I hope he can turn it around, but it's going to be a huge struggle.

4.) 31 Jan 2016 23:38:22
With regards to G. Nev, he categorically stated when taking in the job it would be until the end of the season only and that afterwards his future lay in punditry rather than management. The general consensus was that he was helping out the main backer of Salford, who was in a bit of a difficult situation in regards to managers.

Now I believe he thought he had the ability to instil a consistency of winning in the Valencia side, and if achieved he would reevaluate his original career declarations. But as it stands he appears to only be there for the season and then back at Sky/ BT or the like.

5.) 31 Jan 2016 23:45:38
Yes I hope he turns it around, not everyone one would have the courage to leave their soft job in sky and take on that challenge, he is a passionate man and has the will to win, best of luck to him.

6.) 01 Feb 2016 09:01:13
Ed033 I think Pep doesn't like challenges, he likes "already made" teams.

26 Dec 2015 21:39:46
It seems everyone is trying not to win the league this year.

1.) 26 Dec 2015 21:54:36
If you are referring to arsenal score mate, everyone will have their share of losses, the team that wins it is the one who can respond after one loss and win a few on the bounce an that is not us. still arsenal and city for me and arsenal just shaving it as they are the best away team in the league.

2.) 26 Dec 2015 22:03:42
I don't like to pin title hopes on one player but, aguero or Sanchez will win the league for city or Arsenal. i'd rather alexis but think Sergio will scrape it.

3.) 26 Dec 2015 22:29:27
Tottenham are quietly picking up points and playing well. Not saying they'll win it but they could go close. Good manager (seems so anyway) team ethic and play decent stuff, everything were not at the minute.

4.) 26 Dec 2015 22:58:34
Yes I was referring to the Arsenal game GCU pal, haven't seen them play so badly in a while. With performance like that from the team most people tip to be the eventual winners, you have to wonder what really is up with the epl. Not to sound like one of those people but Fergie would probably have walked the title this year given how everyone is so awful.

5.) 27 Dec 2015 09:45:53

I did not see the Arsenal game but they always have a few games like that in them in a season but tend to respond well thereafter and win the games they are suppose to. Even with their loss yesterday they are the best away team in the league over the last 12 months and hence why i have them favoured over city. City's away from is very average and it looks like company and his injuries are going to have him sidelined for much of he season and their defense is always very suspect.

I agree on Fergie getting so much more out of this squad. I wonder if the club can talk him into taking over till the end of the season until we sort ourselves out but highly doubt it as he has so many commitments now a days. He turned down a board seat (8 days a year plus a few events) at my best friends company for substantial money due to his current commitments, which includes 35 days a year of attending official Club things.

Wishful thinking i guess and and an issue if he takes over and the team suddenly kicks on and starts performing and where does that leave the next manager taking over.

12 Dec 2015 16:59:11
I am all for giving youth a chance, but this defence today is a joke. Maybe they'll prove me wrong and I'll be overjoyed if they did, but these names don't inspire even the tiniest bits of confidence in me. And where the hell is Shneiderlin?

{Ed004's Note - On the bench not fit enough to start}

1.) 12 Dec 2015 17:06:26
I support my team, if I was in the stadium I would want to stand up for my team more than anything today. Yes it's young, yes is a risk but those lads are representing our club, they are going out there doing their best and let's support them.

2.) 12 Dec 2015 17:09:28
Thank god ashley young or jesse lingard aren't playing as full backs.
I think Varela did an okay job against wolfsburg, given that it was the first time he played for us (apart from the 17 mins) in a really big game against a decent striker in Schurrle.
He was a bit clueless with the balls going over his head, but did okay.

3.) 12 Dec 2015 17:19:01
Loko. The whole back line is injured so lvg has no choice.

4.) 12 Dec 2015 17:24:22

Its not giving youth a chance, it called having no option but playing them. we have sold an almost full squad and cleared the deck.

People should not confuse being forced to play young players because of injuries to giving youth a chance.

Wilson and Janusaj which by any measure were suppose to be the best of the lot hardly got a look in, so a lot of this giving youth a chance is lip service IMO as he stated clearly he wanted a smaller squad and has mismanaged the fact that we are an injury prone team if you look at our last few years.

Can't wait to see us close the door on this guy and to better and bigger things.

5.) 12 Dec 2015 18:12:02
The same people that complain LVG let too many people go meaning he has to play youth are the same people that say 'well he's being forced to play youth'. I would rather see young kids getting the chance to prove themselves than a lot of the players LVG let go, do you not agree?

6.) 12 Dec 2015 18:31:27
GCU I imagine having managed some teams in the past the coach knew he would at some point be without many players to injury, and intended to play the young players then. I however don't think he imagined many players would be injured at the same damn time.
Red man trust me am right behind the team, always look forward to the games no matter how bad we play.
And Borthwick-Jackson is actually having a good game, Varela not so much. Still makes me happy watching them no matter what the circumstances are.

My understanding which is based purely on what I've been reading in the papers, probably all bullocks is that Mourinho doesn't want Fabregas but the club wants him. Am not sure how much sense that makes but were it to happen then Fabregas risks being another Mata

Or maybe Rashford is faithful to his own touch line and does not want to go hugging other people's touch lines.
