Brazil 82 Ed? My favourite International team of all time and scored some of the best world cup goals ever, also if a young Careca wasn't injured they would have been even better.
I agree with the 1970 side (although the England 1970 team weren't that far off) .

{Ed001's Note - I forgot about them as I was young when that took place and I more remember how Italy cheated by bringing back Paulo Rossi despite his life ban for match fixing.}

I'm sure it was probably just an oversight Ed001, but you appear to have left out the great Northern Ireland team from the Spain 82 World Cup! I'll let it pass this time, but just for future reference. ? ?.

Never mind Northern Ireland, if the FAI had brought the cones and bibs to the training camp in 2002, Brazil wouldn’t have stood a chance in the final. We’d be talking about how Roy led the boys in green to the biggest upset in international football history.

The 1970 Brazil team are still the greatest in my opinion.

The excitement of being 10 years old and just getting our first ever colour tv, seeing that Brazil kit and everything else in colour on a 26 inch tv is hard to put into words. Going to the park to play football and one of your mates shouting " I will be Pele " ' i'm Jairzinho" "Dave you be Tostao" Happy days.

The best goal ever scored in that 1970 final boyfromburrenway by Carlos Alberto. If anyone can find footage from the start of the build up play that I think involves Gerson, Rivelino and Tostao and quite a few dummies/ step overs.

Yes. It is beautiful ed. My older brother had a copy of "boys from Brazil? " About the football team lol on VHS! . He made me watch it as a young ad in the late 80's. Goes through their world cup history up to about 1990. I was hooked on the Brazilian national team from then but they aren't made like they used to be. Maybe the side with, Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho was the last good one but I wouldn't say they were a great team.

{Ed001's Note - international football is nowhere near the level it once was. But then they used to get to spend months together. I think the 1970 Brazil team had about 6 months together ahead of the tournament if I remember correctly.}

Can't argue with these choices but I do and always will love the 88 Dutch side, some fantastic players and what a striker Van Basten was. Injuries sadly cut him short, but outside of him you had Gullit Rijkaard etc, great players, a great kit and even great hair.
