Sancho to United fee agreed in principle widely reported) . €60 million the reported initial fee rising to almost double that with add ons. It feels like this will be completed before the end of the week given next Monday's deadline.
Sanchez on the other hand leaving for 'free' and joining Inter on a permanent contract.

Well, congratulations United fans :-) after months of bantering and competing online for his signature, seems the United fans win this one over Chelsea fans!

Really expensive signing, but for sure now you'll have a top attack and should be competing for title next season. Seems like the Liverpool-City dominance should be broken for a bit.

Nice transfer :)

Cheers Jackson 👍 Chelsea and United will be the teams to watch next season imo 👍.

Not sure Jackson - Pool and City have set such high standards that the gap is not going to be filled by one signing. Average points to win the league over the last 3 years has been 99 points which is frankly mental.
A title winning sides are built from the back and that is the weakest part of out first 11. Plus question marks remain over the coach. I like Ole and what he brings, but he has so much to learn that a title charge may be a bit too soon for him. For e. g. against chelsea in the fa cup, we should have setup like arsenal did in the final - if anything we had better players to make that work.

The back four isn't the issue, the issue is the way we play when we are pressed high. We didn't have much problems with teams sitting deel (after Bruno's arrival), but when we were pressed high, the midfielders and the wide players didn't do enough to help with the ball been moved forward. The way we escape from pressing is the main issue for me. Plus we don't have tall striker up front who could keep the ball or head it when our defenders play high ball when been pressed.

Sancho is a great player no doubt, but him alone won't bridge a 20+ point gap.

If/ when Sancho joins we will have a good first 11. I'm not totally convinced by the defence, but then I'm not totally convinced by any defence bar Liverpool's currently in the EPL.

It's quality in depth that is the problem. Jones being cover for Lindelof, Rojo as cover for Maguire, Fred as cover for Pogba and Andreas Pereira as cover for Bruno.

They just aren't good enough and the drop off in quality is huge.

I think its one step at a time. I don't agree with this arrogant entitlement UTD fans often spout - I think next season and the season after top 3 with some silverware and a reduction in points between us and the top 2 is realistic . We have fallen further than some will admit, even now 2-3 players out through injury or suspension and we look no better than a top 6-7 side. More quality needed in first team and on the bench. won't happen overnight .

I wouldn't expect your summer to be over in terms of buying after Sancho. Probably another defender to join you guys. You'll be solid.

Hopefully we do something similar in signing Havertz plus a CB. I doubt one club will run away with it next season.

Jackson, I think Chelsea have made some good signings in Werner and Ziyech. Clearly Havertz is a special talent but I'm not sure he is needed currently.

I think Chelsea need a first choice CB to partner Rudiger, a first choice LB and a goalkeeper far more than they need Havertz. However, seeing as Havertz looks like one of the top young players, I can see why Chelsea are chasing him while there is little competition for him.

Shappy, Havertz looks very much like a player we could do with. Makes you wonder why we aren't interested.

Yeah I think it's more that the club see an opportunity to get a talent they otherwise would probably lose out on to Madrid, Bayern etc .

I do agree a CB and certainly a GK are needed. But I doubt the buying will be done after Havertz. Onana shouldn't be too hard to sign, and if we can sell a CB I'm pretty sure we'll sign a new one. But you are right, they're more needed than Havertz.
