The news today is sobering and awful and unacceptable. This is the tip of a very big iceberg with some players thinking they can do what they want. Whether it’s acting like a knob, prostitutes, drunk driving, betting, assault, or in this case sexual assault the list is long and varied.

Players are placed on pedestals and believe their own hype, ‘I can do whatever I please’ is the mantra' although in today’s case there can be no misunderstanding about fame making this anything other than a heinous crime deserving of serious punishment. Anyone who commits sexual assault is absolutely aware that what they are don’t is wrong and unacceptable

I’m trying to make a wider point about football in general losing all sense of moral purpose. If rumours are true the club knew about this then I’m not sure where that leaves us. Wouldn’t it be good if our club stood for something, had clear standards, and stood by them. Unfortunately it seems winning is everything and honesty, decency, and integrity aren’t valued. Money is God.

If the club did know about this all along, then who and where does the buck stop at/ with. What happens next. Surely there must be some people leaving the club if that is the case.

But you’re very right, players believe their own hype and are in the own worlds.

Without this sounding bad, I hope if it’s true that he has done what I’ve read then the usual trial by social media doesn’t derail the proper investigations.

Let’s be clear that there is nothing to say the club knew anything about this, obviously people will throw that type of mud at us because of who we are!

You think people like RR and ole for example would know about that behaviour and accept it from the point of view of a father to daughters as they both are!

No chance! I trust the club will act correctly when they are allowed to do so .

{Ed014's Note - this has zero to with who WE are! ?‍♂️

Chris, I’m talking above it football generally, as I said it’s a wider point. The game has competent lost its way. A World Cup in Qatar, obscene money swirling around, and all too regular players doing silly, bad, awful things.

Sometime I wish I hated football as there is so much that turns my stomach.

Disagree Ed, this should not be turned into a pile on about the football club . As things stand only two things matter, firstly Greenwood is dealt with accordingly by the Authorities, and the poor girl in question is looked after and can finally breathe a big sigh of relief she has help . Rumours about who knew what and said this to who are exactly that, mud slinging rumours that should be treated as such.

Agree with that…I’d say if we knew some of the things that goes on beneath the surface we’d like the game even less.

AJH I’m completely with you and that’s more the point I’m making! . That’s why I don’t see why we’re even discussing our club! It’s another sad, vile indictment of where our game is going! Money greed and vile characters who are so unattached to us normal football folk it’s incredible!

Chris the point ajh is making is that football has lost its moral compass and the clubs have a responsibility to act in a fit and proper way. This applies to the way the players behave in general, but especially the horrible way Greenwood "has" behaved.
One thing is we luckily live in a civilised society where we are innocent until proven guilty. If he's proven guilty, then the full force of the law should and will be thrown at him.
