15 games in this season and it's a very interesting looking league table.
City arsenal Newcastle Brighton were the top 4 at this point last season.
All 4 teams are doing worse this season. Newcastle are 4 points worse off Brighton 5 points worse city 8 and arsenal just the 2 worse off.
Spurs in 6th are 1 point better off and Manchester United are 1 point better off and would you believe we are better in goal difference by 1.
The biggest improves are Liverpool and villa by 11 points each.
I would have expected us to be 10 points better this season than last by the end of the season. We are slightly behind that ideally but still very achievable.
The league is very competitive this season. Whatever 11 goes out need to show up 100% exceed your opponents workrate and effort and earn the right to win each game.
Howe is doing worse than eth year on year.
Pep is doing worse as is arteta and Brighton manager.
Great to see villa in the mix and they are good to watch.
Let's hope the permutations has dropped for a few and we have more of what we saw last night between now and the end of the season.

It will be a very long and surprising season. People need to hold their water and not do a dummy spit after every bad result and ignore the noise that comes with it by a section of the fans, social media, pundits etc etc.

Just saw the Newcastle score and I am not surprised by the loss but maybe the score.

One good thing even with all our bad results and some of the losses is we have the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle at home later on. They will not be easy games but with a squad in decent shape health wise I like our chances.

IMO the worst loss of the season so far has been crystal palace at home.

I think it just goes to show how much the media narrative plays on peoples minds.

Last season most people felt EtH probably overachieved a bit, taking a team that finished 6th up to 3rd, making two cup finals, winning one to lift the first silverware in 6 years.

Yet this season there have been calls for him to be sacked despite the club actually being better off in the league to where we were at this point last season.

That's despite the frankly ridiculous injury list and him supposedly fighting off a mutiny if you'd believe the papers.

Yet, nothing in the press about Pep's poor season. I wonder why?

Maybe if you win the treble, and threaten to win it almost every year, you get a bit of a break?

Fgic.
I agree I would not be bombarding pep with his poor season too much. They are not maintaining impossible levels but nobody could.
However it's quite clear that there is a media/ social media frenzy about united.
Honestly so much noise lapped up by gullible sheep of supporters. They allow media coverage form their opinions.
The only thing that should really matter to the fans is what happens on the pitch and what enables that but there is more interest from supporters in what the players eat for breakfast.

shappy

Pep has a ton of credit in the bank and they do this every year and then kick on after Jan. A bit like the United of fergie times. I did not pick them to win the League in AJH poll and they are more gettable this year compared to past years.

I love how unpredictable the Prem has become. Every season a different team comes along and really shakes things up. It's Villa's turn, who could even have gone second this week if Liverpool slipped up. It's a brave man who picks the top four this season.
