Toni Kroos representives have come out and said there is no offer from Manchester United and there would be no point as toni Kroos will be at bayern next season

Another one put to bed

That means diddly squat to be honest. What possible motive could the agent have for suggesting that? What does an agent want more than anything? Until the window closes (and opens for that matter) nothing is put to bed. I'd quit worrying about it for now if I were you and enjoy the rest of the season.

"We have not received any official contract offer [from Manchester United], "

"There is also no need to submit an offer as Toni will be with Bayern Munich until June 2015."

Assuming this is true - it reads very much like he will be heading to United. Of course we haven't given him an OFFICIAL contract offer (this would be considered tapping up) - but to word it this way implies there have been talks and a provisional offer has been made.

The agent mentioning a specific point in time reads as a threat to BM that if they do not sell him he is prepared to run his contract down and leave for nothing in June 2015. Are BM really that stubborn to turn down £25m+ for a player who doesn't want to be there and would be leaving the league? I don't think so.

When this all started I assumed Kroos was just looking for an improved contract with BM - but the longer it goes on the more I have to wonder. I still believe he will sign a new deal over the next few months but am slowly starting to believe that a summer move to OT is, at the very least, a possibility.

There was no realistic chance that we were going to get him anyway

It's no secret Kroos' first choice is to stay at BM. If BM pay him what he wants he will stay.

Did you really think there was a realistic chance? A player at one of the top European clubs with just over a year left on his contract
just using the name of Manchester United as a negotiation bargaining tool.its been done before and will be done in the future.

I think there could be something in what redseven is saying.

£260k a week is a proper head turner and its not like Kroos would have to play in some Russian outpost in order to earn it.

There's no way Bayern will offer him anything like that amount and if Utd are offering him that sum, it certainly is a statement of belief in him. You wouldn't need a massive ego to be flattered and seduced by such obvious faith in your abilities from of the biggest clubs in world football.

Perhaps it comes down to Kroos, how motivated by money he is and what his relationship with Bayern is.

Even if the money turns his head, it doesn't mean he's a money grabbing mercenary. How many of us would move to our employer's competitor for quadruple our current wage, even if our current employer was offering to double it in order to keep us?

Money talks and I think united will pay kroos more than Munich.
United need him more Munich don't have to break the bank to keep him when everyone fit he won't be guaranteed a start
