Hey Ed001 is you are about? Any thoughts on who MUFC will look to to replace Di Maria?

{Ed001's Note - I always thought Depay was his replacement mate.}

1.) 27 Jul 2015 13:08:09
That's if he does end up leaving. I have a sneaky feeling he might give it another go this season. It would be worth keeping him just to put PSG in their place. I think they have acted inappropriately; constantly going on about the player in an attempt to unsettle him further.

2.) 27 Jul 2015 14:06:16
In my opinion we shouldn't keep a player who gets unsettled by the lures of playing in French league.

3.) 27 Jul 2015 14:12:48
So keep a player we could get 45 million for who can't even be arsed turning up for pre season training? Not sure about that Sam.

4.) 27 Jul 2015 14:31:32
Why on earth would we keep a player, the highest paid player in the league, who doesn't even have the professional courtesy to join up with the rest of the squad?

5.) 27 Jul 2015 15:42:09
GO . go to a much easier league . Its quite clear he can't hack the ruff and tumble of prem league. bye

6.) 27 Jul 2015 20:48:23
You're right guys. Reading that comment back I don't know what I was thinking. I was kind of hoping that Di Maria had a pair and might give it another go and fight for his place, but it seems he is a light weight mercenary with absolutely no respect for the club. So yes, send him on his way, although I hope the club won't sell until we have signed a replacement or got one of their main players in return.

I can't help but think that PSG have instructed him to act like a brat and not turn up for training in order to push the move through.

He will never be known as a great. Great players are made of tougher stuff.

7.) 27 Jul 2015 21:29:19
He was shit last year and why would we want to turn down 45 to 50 million pounds for a player who was an absolute failure in the league and a non factor. some of our fans seem to be more in love with names and reputations than actual performance on the pitch.

8.) 28 Jul 2015 07:19:18
I personally think that Ibra is coming the other way in the di Maria saga. This is probably the suprise LVG was talking about.
Yes, he is getting on but he bossed Chelsea the other night in the first half especially. I personally want any 1 of about 5 other players instead of him but there is no getting round the fact that the blokes a tank and would cause a lot of issues for defenders.

I want ADM out ASAP, lightweight and has the heart of a mouse. Recipe for disaster in premier league.

I've tried the search engine but found nothing - Any interest from us in Valencia's Andre Gomes?

{Ed002's Note - Valencia's Andre Gomes has been watched recently by representatives of Bayern Munich, Manchester United and by Vicente Fernandez on behalf of Chelsea. However, the asking price would need to pretty much halve to make any transfer possible.}

A question regarding Reus. Ed002 - You've made it clear not to hold our breath over us signing him, you also mentioned that a number of clubs (Chelsea and Madrid if I recall correctly) have backed away from previous interest for whatever reason. I'm not fussed about the reasons but I am curious as to what clubs, if any, are still interesting in Reus?

{Ed002's Note - Reus is staying at Dortmund next season. As such any interest is now on the back burner. You are right about Chelsea and Real Madrid - they both met with representatives of the player and the club but walked away.}

08 Jul 2014 11:46:02
thinks Real Madrid might look to sell Di Maria for a big fee, and if they do MUFC are in a strong position to get him.

Ed001 if you are around can I get your opinion on Bellotti?

{Ed001's Note - from what I have seen, which is just a couple of games this season (half watched rather than concentrated on) and highlights, so not a really good platform to judge a player on, he has stood out. There are a few players in Italy who have done so this season, obviously most of the Juve team, Insigne, Mertens (particularly in my opinion) and Belotti. He looks a real threat every time I see him. I would like to see more but he looked to have good movement.}

1.) 14 May 2017 10:02:37
Redrosie. Good to see ya back in the page hope you are well.

2.) 14 May 2017 12:16:26
I've watched a bit of and think he is the real deal, does a bit of everything.
Really good player, can't see him at torino much longer.

3.) 14 May 2017 12:53:17
I've only seen him play on tv twice. So I have no idea how good he is or can become. He is highly thought of by all accounts having a great season too. He is a good age but it's a lot of money for a largely unproven striker.

4.) 14 May 2017 14:30:45
Watching him live now v napoli. Technically sound and his movement is good. Seems strong. Not exceptionally quick but not slow. Big napoli cb koulabaly has been great.

Now that the window is over is Ed002 coming back? I can't remember the terms of our banishment and I have some MUFC questions about summer.

{Ed002's Note - Sorry Rosie.}

03 Jan 2016 12:24:28
Seems ridiculous but just to reiterate as it appears to have been ignored, can we please all use the search function and not ask endless questions about players whose names aren't on Ed002's comprehensive list on the rumours page. We all know what happens if we don't and nobody wants that.

{Ed002's Note - Everyone is a little better now that the Toxics are much quieter Rosy.}

1.) 03 Jan 2016 14:18:28
Glad to hear it!

01 Jan 2016 09:23:45
Aaaaaaand the transfer window is open. Let the fun begin.

{Ed001's Note - tomorrow it opens.}

1.) 01 Jan 2016 11:20:39
Starting the new year as I mean to go on.

{Ed001's Note - your missus will be so happy to know you are intending to be premature all year.}

2.) 01 Jan 2016 12:01:54
I had a terrible case of premature ejeculation last year. I was touch an go for weeks.

Happy New Year one and all.

{Ed001's Note - oh no, have you borrowed Ed025's joke book?}

08 Dec 2015 23:26:38
Worth pointing out that our defence isn't nearly as 'solid' without two defensive midfielders sat in front of them all game. I'd be very surprised if Smalling would be playing as well as he is without that security blanket.

{Ed007's Note - You're not allowed to say that.}

1.) 08 Dec 2015 23:39:23
Well he plays exceptionally for England too who almost play with no DM's.

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't know but I'll take your word for it, pity he can't play exceptionally for Utd though.}

2.) 09 Dec 2015 00:03:35
Red Rosie I have said this before and got put to the sword for it.

3.) 09 Dec 2015 00:10:23
It depends also on who are you team mates, and Blind, Varela and Darmian/Borthwick-Johnson are not exactly stellar.

Is it late enough in the week for this one Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Sunday afternoon is better.}

Ah, well it seems my overall perception of Graham Hunter was incorrect. Thanks for the insight Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - it is not his fault, it is the way they work, they have to say something even when there is nothing.}

So you're saying we tried to sign him because Hunter put a story out saying we were going to sign him?

{Ed001's Note - there is certainly an element of that to it yes. It was what convinced the club to ask for him to be included in any deal for de Gea.}

I'll save you all some googling - he didn't say it. He hasn't ever said it. The op is misinformed/ wrong/ lying.

You might not rate Perisic highly and that's your prerogative but when you compare him to Ashley Young, a player with whom Perisic shares basically no qualities it really kills your point.

I've never seen a player better at controlling the ball with his chest than Saha. Admittedly not top of the list of important footballing attributes but I loved him when he was here.
