Ed002 is joao felix well thought of as a player? Can't say I know much about him but would love to get some insight.

{Ed002's Note - Yes he is very well thought of, but the asking price is well beyond unrealistic.}

1.) 08 Mar 2019 18:52:52
I’ve never seen him play either but hear such great things.

Anyone know where he would fit into the team? Competition for Lingard?

2.) 08 Mar 2019 21:11:59
I've seen him a few times. He would be best in a free role either wide or behind the strikers similar to where/ how Lingard plays but with more cutting edge going forward and less work defensively.

However, in no way is this lad ready for the EPL. He makes Angel Gomes look like a bouncer. He needs another couple of years in Portugal to fill out and develop further.

3.) 09 Mar 2019 13:06:57
Thanks mate.

Who remembers a few years back when Ed002 said Chelsea had backed away from interest Griezmann because he talks too much to the media? Looks like he was right, airing his 'decision' tonight. Ridiculous stuff.

1.) 14 Jun 2018 14:53:35
Might be an unpopular opinion, especially with the football traditionalists, but this stuff doesn't bother me at all. It's the way the sport is going, it's the way some American sports have been for a while. What a player does on social media, on TV doesn't affect what he does on the pitch.

He's a massive basketball fan, he's doing what LeBron James did 8 years ago and just as every NBA team would have been better with LBJ every football team would be better with Griezmann.

2.) 14 Jun 2018 16:53:17
Lebron James is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time and is at least in the discussion with Jordan and he was a free agent. If Messi were a free agent right now I'd be fine with it. Griezmann is a very good player who isn't a generational talent - he hasn't earned the ego.

3.) 14 Jun 2018 16:54:10
Seem to recall hazard chose to announce on twitter that he was joining Chelsea and not 1 of the Manchester clubs.

4.) 14 Jun 2018 20:59:21
Griezmann stays.

5.) 14 Jun 2018 21:08:14
Talented player but glad he's staying he's nothing but a self-obsessed dickhead.

6.) 14 Jun 2018 21:10:15
He annoys me tbh a very good player but like the above post touches on not nearly good enough to warrant this kind of nonsense.

7.) 14 Jun 2018 21:49:14
Well after that farce he looks like an ever bigger prick. Glad he's staying.

8.) 14 Jun 2018 22:22:51
Tell us how you really feel though Dave 😂.

Ed001 - talk to me about Gareth Bale, I know he's going to be offered here and is interested in United but are we interested in him? Spurs have first refusal correct? I'd be surprised to see Levy willing to pay what it takes.

{Ed001's Note - previously United were interested but Madrid did not want to sell. I can't see why they would have dropped their interest in him now. Imagine Woodward clinching that signing, it would enable him to ask for so much more when Yanmar want to put United's name on their next tractor.....}

1.) 28 May 2018 09:54:50
Tractors are great for making bales.

{Ed001's Note - oh damn I am gutted I never thought of that one!}

2.) 28 May 2018 10:13:35
Lol DP that is good.

3.) 28 May 2018 11:38:05
BRAVO DANNY!

4.) 28 May 2018 12:41:07
Never understood the snarkiness about sponsorship. No club cna do without it now. Which PL club would turn down money from a tractor company or noodle partner. they might intimate they would and their fans might say they would but they wouldnt. Every club does it.

Money is money. Arsenal signed a sleeve deal for visit rawanda, suppodedly for 30 mill, whilst Rawanda receive foreign aid from UK? How well does that sit with football fans

First club shop not UTD

First club to commercially tour China. not UTD

First club to commercially tour USA . not UTD.

First club to have in house TV channel. not UTD

First club to have shirt sponsorship, ground naming, sleeve sponsorship . not UTD

Most expensive season tickets in PL. not UTD

Most expensive season tickets in old first divison . not UTD. cheaper than Coventry city to name one of 7

Most expensive season tickets in old second division. not UTD.

5.) 28 May 2018 14:54:01
BoyfromBurrenway - I think you are looking at it the wrong way mate for this particular point. Nobody should have a problem with the club making the most of it's brand to gain sponsors.

The problem is when those sponsorship deals come first, ie, tractor sponsor says to the club we will sponsor you for X amount if you sign Bale! Or there are two potential signings, one is more suited to the team, but the other is more financially beneficial sponsorship wise - where do you think we would go?

The sense I get and I assume many others get, is that we would tend to choose money making as a short-term priority. You can get both of course but that is why people can be a bit 'snarky'.

6.) 28 May 2018 16:00:46
Fair point, well made Beast. Its getting harder and harder to seperate business/ football and to a degree celebrity/ entertainment/ showbiz.

I can remember a time when every club had a commercial office or a deal maker. you just never knew who they were. Woodward/ Levy etc etc are high profile figures now, something that doesn't sit well with me.

7.) 28 May 2018 18:14:43
That’s because previously they never really needed and let’s be honest, everyone knew who the chairman was of their own club as well as others.

Let’s also be honest, does anyone have any experience working in a global business negotiating these deals? IF you do, and I for one do too, you’ll know just how hard they are not only to find, but also to get them signed up. I have a lot of respect for Woody, whose sole objective is to make us as profitable as possible as well as negotiate with greedy agents and players every day.

8.) 29 May 2018 07:46:54
Danny that was classic 🤣🤣👍👏.

9.) 29 May 2018 08:03:19
A round of applause from me danny that properly made me chuckle 😂👏.

27 Jul 2015 12:27:28
Hey Ed001 is you are about? Any thoughts on who MUFC will look to to replace Di Maria?

{Ed001's Note - I always thought Depay was his replacement mate.}

1.) 27 Jul 2015 13:08:09
That's if he does end up leaving. I have a sneaky feeling he might give it another go this season. It would be worth keeping him just to put PSG in their place. I think they have acted inappropriately; constantly going on about the player in an attempt to unsettle him further.

2.) 27 Jul 2015 14:06:16
In my opinion we shouldn't keep a player who gets unsettled by the lures of playing in French league.

3.) 27 Jul 2015 14:12:48
So keep a player we could get 45 million for who can't even be arsed turning up for pre season training? Not sure about that Sam.

4.) 27 Jul 2015 14:31:32
Why on earth would we keep a player, the highest paid player in the league, who doesn't even have the professional courtesy to join up with the rest of the squad?

5.) 27 Jul 2015 15:42:09
GO . go to a much easier league . Its quite clear he can't hack the ruff and tumble of prem league. bye

6.) 27 Jul 2015 20:48:23
You're right guys. Reading that comment back I don't know what I was thinking. I was kind of hoping that Di Maria had a pair and might give it another go and fight for his place, but it seems he is a light weight mercenary with absolutely no respect for the club. So yes, send him on his way, although I hope the club won't sell until we have signed a replacement or got one of their main players in return.

I can't help but think that PSG have instructed him to act like a brat and not turn up for training in order to push the move through.

He will never be known as a great. Great players are made of tougher stuff.

7.) 27 Jul 2015 21:29:19
He was shit last year and why would we want to turn down 45 to 50 million pounds for a player who was an absolute failure in the league and a non factor. some of our fans seem to be more in love with names and reputations than actual performance on the pitch.

8.) 28 Jul 2015 07:19:18
I personally think that Ibra is coming the other way in the di Maria saga. This is probably the suprise LVG was talking about.
Yes, he is getting on but he bossed Chelsea the other night in the first half especially. I personally want any 1 of about 5 other players instead of him but there is no getting round the fact that the blokes a tank and would cause a lot of issues for defenders.

I want ADM out ASAP, lightweight and has the heart of a mouse. Recipe for disaster in premier league.

08 Apr 2015 14:58:56
I've tried the search engine but found nothing - Any interest from us in Valencia's Andre Gomes?

{Ed002's Note - Valencia's Andre Gomes has been watched recently by representatives of Bayern Munich, Manchester United and by Vicente Fernandez on behalf of Chelsea. However, the asking price would need to pretty much halve to make any transfer possible.}

Ed001 I'd be interested to get your thoughts on Lazios Milinkovic-Savic. Worthy of the hype or another case of overrating a young player?

{Ed001's Note - he is a very good player, but very raw and in need of good coaching. Excellent technique but suspect attitude. Though he is supposed to be a really nice lad apparently.}

1.) 22 Dec 2018 13:13:16
Should have the funds if we sell a certain midfielder back to Juventus.

2.) 22 Dec 2018 14:21:01
Having a really poor season.

18 Dec 2018 10:27:30
Thank you to Mourinho who gave us some memorable cup wins including my first ever one I've seen in person. It didn't work out in the end but this is a club where I'd like to think we can show a little class and thank him for his time here without all of the 'good riddance' posts.

09 Aug 2018 12:14:07
Anybody else a little concerned that we haven't been able to shift any of the players deemed surplus to requirements other than Blind? Players left in a purgatory where they aren't playing isn't usually a good recipe for a happy camp.

1.) 09 Aug 2018 12:35:18
we can still sell players past today. others window doesn't shut till end of the month.

2.) 09 Aug 2018 13:43:44
Many of these players will move to clubs outside of the EPL. Darmian and Rojo will likely head to Italy/ Spain ect. Which means they aren't a priority to sort out their moves today. Any potential in coming deals will be priority today.

3.) 09 Aug 2018 13:59:15
I am positive that sneidjer will join us this transfer window.

15 May 2018 20:44:29
Ed001 - Both Manchester clubs seem to be interested in Fred. What do you make him? Strengths/ weaknesses? I know next to nothing about him so appreciate any analysis.

{Ed001's Note - not seen him play to be honest, sorry.}

13 May 2017 22:17:33
Ed001 if you are around can I get your opinion on Bellotti?

{Ed001's Note - from what I have seen, which is just a couple of games this season (half watched rather than concentrated on) and highlights, so not a really good platform to judge a player on, he has stood out. There are a few players in Italy who have done so this season, obviously most of the Juve team, Insigne, Mertens (particularly in my opinion) and Belotti. He looks a real threat every time I see him. I would like to see more but he looked to have good movement.}

1.) 14 May 2017 10:02:37
Redrosie. Good to see ya back in the page hope you are well.

2.) 14 May 2017 12:16:26
I've watched a bit of and think he is the real deal, does a bit of everything.
Really good player, can't see him at torino much longer.

3.) 14 May 2017 12:53:17
I've only seen him play on tv twice. So I have no idea how good he is or can become. He is highly thought of by all accounts having a great season too. He is a good age but it's a lot of money for a largely unproven striker.

4.) 14 May 2017 14:30:45
Watching him live now v napoli. Technically sound and his movement is good. Seems strong. Not exceptionally quick but not slow. Big napoli cb koulabaly has been great.

I'd imagine there is too much up in the air regarding the manager and whether or not Deadwoodward is going to back him or not.

Out of interest Ed002, who do you think is capable of doing the job? Obviously we've had your thoughts on the DOF etc but I'm curious to know what head coaches or managers are fit for the purpose.

{Ed002's Note - There are numerous coaches who could do the job perfectly well but the club, should they need to, will have to think about availability, cost, desire etc.. They also need to think about the level of risk there would be involved. It is easy to argue that Max Allegri could do a good job, but he is already at Juventus and has been messed around in the past by Manchester United and turning down Real Madrid shows he is not looking to move. Carlo Ancelotti could do a fine job but his has just joined Napoli. Antonio Conte has had repeaseted success and could do a good job but may not be interested in a return to England and there are others already looking at him and speaking with Chelsea. Laurent Blanc is available, knows the club and has the perfect skill set. Pochettino would be of interest but perhaps not available. Simeone could do the job but would not be interested. I could go on ....}

Doesn't seem like there will be nearly enough time to sell Pogba and sign an adequate replacement before the window closes. We will just have to accept one of our star players doesn't want to be there this year.

Thanks Ed, follow up question if I may - do you know why they or any club would resist those kind of deals?

{Ed002's Note - Because they want specific players.}

Ed002 do you know if the offer from Barcelona is money only or are they looking to offer a player+cash deal? Interested to see if MU are willing to change their policy on exchanges considering they have a chance to offload Pogba which they have been looking to do all summer.

{Ed002's Note - MU has resisted all exchanges so far.}

Ronaldo absolutely did not have a natural strikers instinct at Rashford's age. Not even close. He worked very hard on it but he wasn't the natural finisher like RVN or Yorke/ Cole.

I'm concerned that you could watch Bailly and think he has anywhere near the passing ability or spacial awareness to play defensive midfield.

Ed002 is joking about Evra and Blanc. If you recall Evra was one of the big dissenters in the French squad whilst Blanc was the manager during that whole debacle.

Good - Pogba and Mourinho both gone is the ideal scenario for me.
