TFM loan confirmed.

All the very best to the lad.

Lets hope he plays week in, week out and gets some valuable experience.

Looks like he will play right side of back 3.

1.) 10 Aug 2017 16:18:57
Personally hope he's not going there to play that role, valuable premier league experience will do him the world of good but ideally you want him occupying a position where he could play for us in the future.

2.) 10 Aug 2017 17:25:43
1980, I don't think we're in a position to tell the loan club where he should be played. Palace are overstocked in defensive positions so if TFM manages to make any position his own then fair play to him. I hope he does nail down a position, whatever it be, and gain valuable PL minutes.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 17:41:24
Maybe a CM partnership with our own starlet Loftus-Cheek? :-) TFM being the more defensive one, while RLC is his more refined attacking partner.

4.) 10 Aug 2017 19:12:17
Since his debut TFM has always looked good in CB position. At right back he makes mistakes, not suited for that position. If he plays for Palace at CB and shines then he can be a long term asset for United.

5.) 10 Aug 2017 23:16:41
Bang on sailor.

6.) 11 Aug 2017 16:22:16
Think it's a bit harsh to dismiss any future at right back. He's young and very good bringing the ball forward. Let's not forget the performance he put in against spurs last year. As soon as he went off, spurs banged 3 goals against us.

24 Mar 2017 14:08:25
The Football Association announced at 13:00 GMT today (Friday) that Chris Smalling has returned to United from the England camp due to injury. The Reds centre-back follows his club colleague Phil Jones in having his international stint cut short and he'll be replaced in the squad by Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson.

So Smalling Injures Jones and then gets himself injured. GREAT

Back to a flat back 4 then with Rojo and Bailey.

1.) 24 Mar 2017 18:10:49
Thats typical! Funnily enough though a CB partnership of Rojo and Bailly is something I've wanted to see for a while, let's hope they stay fit and do well.

2.) 24 Mar 2017 18:23:39
I agree HoneyBadger, also means the defence can push further up, especially if Shaw plays at lb as well.

3.) 24 Mar 2017 19:47:42
They could always go for a back 3 and drop Carrick in between Bailly and Rome.

4.) 24 Mar 2017 22:08:01
Why has everyone forgot about blind he can play as part of a 3 he's brilliant on the ball be the spare central one!

5.) 24 Mar 2017 22:37:03
Statezz blind would make the ideal sweeper behind bailly and rojo. He can pass short or long and can carry the ball out comfortably. It could also see Shaw come in which all of us would like to see.

23 Mar 2017 16:20:56
Ed02. I know that prior to the January transfer window you mentioned that we were interested in Jose Gimenez. Do you happen to know if there has been any movement on a potential deal.

Many thanks as always.

{Ed002's Note - He was first choice but he won't be moving to MU - everyone has moved on.}

1.) 23 Mar 2017 17:03:56
Hi ed02.

many thanks for your update as always.

I remember you saying that he was first choice and there are fresh reports today so just wondered. Guess it is old news being recyled.

have a good evening.

2.) 23 Mar 2017 20:57:28
Hi Ed002,

Thanks for above info. Are United still looking for a defender and, if so, is Lindelof still the preferred choice for the summer? Many thanks as always!

{Ed002's Note - Not now.}

3.) 24 Mar 2017 07:31:58
Thanks Ed! Can't wait for the next Sharkopod to find out who the new targets are!

31 Jan 2017 14:00:53
ed002. How are you today? I know that in your sharkopod you mentioned our interest in Nelson Semedo and that any deal would more than likely be in the summer. There are some reports today suggesting that a deal for the summer has now been agreed. Do you happen to know if there has been any talks with Benfica regarding Nelson Semedo and if anything in principle has been agreed.
many thanks

{Ed002's Note - Benfica has discussed Semedo with both Manchester United and Chelsea and a move in the summer remains on the cards - but neither has an agreement in place right now OD.}

1.) 31 Jan 2017 14:24:53
hi Ed002. Many thanks for getting back to me. We will have to see what happens in the summer then. Have a good day

{Ed002's Note - Enjoy, have a great day.}

SO with tonight being our last friendly before the Super Cup Game next Tuesday who does everyone think will play lb, and either side of Lukaku?

Blind or Darmian?

martial, rashford, miki, mata

I think all the other positions are given.

1.) 02 Aug 2017 15:26:01
I would go Blind

Rash and Jesse

I fear for having Blind the tortoise playing Real again next week though.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 15:28:40
I think Lingard will start.

3.) 02 Aug 2017 16:12:40
During the tour he tended to go with either Jones, Bailly and Darmian or Smalling, Lindoff and Blind. I think at the moment the Jones, Bailly, Darmian combination is stronger.

4.) 02 Aug 2017 16:35:23
Juat for fun I will go 3 at the back.
Bailey Lindelof and Tanuzaub with Lingard and Valencia wingbacks.
Lukaku and Rashford as a front 2.

5.) 02 Aug 2017 17:52:04
On our way to the game tonight. Looking forward to seeing how the new boys fit in. Hoping to see matic get a run i'd love to see rash and lukaku up front😁.

6.) 02 Aug 2017 17:53:42
I think the team that starts tonight starts against Madrid. Jose takes finals seriously.

27 Jul 2017 11:23:16
JM comments after the game last night.
"I think we will understand the reason in a couple of days. [Eric] Bailly is suspended for the first two matches in Europe as you know, and in the next couple of days you will have the understanding of why I am playing [Victor] Lindelof and [Chris] Smalling. "

So is Jones off?

1.) 27 Jul 2017 11:39:53
Could well be, the club is supposedly open to letting either Jones or Smalling leave, possibly both.

I have said we have too many centre backs currently for Jose's preferred options. I have high hopes for Tuanzebe, so clear the path for him to get games would be good.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 11:52:16
Said it last night on the live chat, I'd let Smalling go before Jones, every day of the week.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 12:15:39
I would let jones go before smalling everyday of the week. The injury record for jones is so bad it no longer matters if he is better or not as you can't rely on him being available.

4.) 27 Jul 2017 13:18:30
Jones is a much better player. Smalling, you always fear a big mistake in a big match.

5.) 27 Jul 2017 13:19:31
Maybe Jones is going to be played as the cdm 😲.

6.) 27 Jul 2017 13:50:06
Bolger i wonder if your on to something there.

7.) 27 Jul 2017 14:40:18
Did Fergie not always say he could play that role?

8.) 27 Jul 2017 16:16:58
Surely he would have played jones in cdm during pre season if that was his thinking?

9.) 27 Jul 2017 19:49:30
Smalling needs to go, jones hasn't become the player we thought he might, but he's still better than Smalling. Jones will only be cover at CB so injuries shouldn't affect him as much, hopefully. If they are replace him next summer.

25 Jul 2017 11:56:15
Not directly United related but reports that Real have agreed a £161m deal for Mbappe. that's right £161m. WOW.

So who do they sell now.

lets see if this causes a domino effect in the market.

1.) 25 Jul 2017 12:44:32
Monaco have denied it.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 12:49:29
Domino effect? You think?

3.) 25 Jul 2017 13:26:23
The price is absolutely staggering but they got almost half of that fee back by offloading one of there bench warmers to Chelsea so if it's true it don't seem so bad after all.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 13:57:25
I remember when we sold Anderson it caused a Domino effect. His local branch went out of business.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 14:11:21
boom boom!

6.) 25 Jul 2017 18:10:15
Did Everton not initially deny we had agreed a fee for Lukaku?

7.) 25 Jul 2017 18:23:19
If it does start a domino effect, then I hope Mr Woodwoody gets a slice of the action.

8.) 25 Jul 2017 18:31:14
I'm here all week, try the meat feast.

24 Jul 2017 16:50:29
Bailey to miss the Super Cup and First round of the CL after getting a further 2 game ban.

BIG miss.

1.) 24 Jul 2017 23:05:53
Not saying they're right or wrong, but why did they delay months on this issue?

2.) 24 Jul 2017 23:12:26
Super cup is a preseason friendly mate don't worry about it too much.

18 Jul 2017 03:58:31
Not a fantastic half but 2-1 up and 2 very good goals.

{Ed004's Note - The team looked sloppy but Lukaku is far better on the ball than I expected. Have been looking out for his first touch}

1.) 18 Jul 2017 05:54:58
I am based here for a few years. Went on Saturday. don't underestimate the 4500ft altitude and 30 degree heat. I have been here for a year although at 2500 ft where i am, i still struggle running. They only landed 3 hrs before the game. After being based at maybe 500ft max above sea level. This is purely fitness.

I have only seen reports suggesting that we have agreed personal terms with him, and nothing with PSG yet.

Since taking over jm has sold depay, rooney and ibra and only purchased lukaku. He speaks about balance and i can see why he wants 1 more wide attacking player. Giving 1 away to accomodate that deal would still leave us short. That is why martial should stay and i think he will have a muxh better season this year too
The other issue we have is that due to long term injury and the euro suspensions of baily and jones we are unable/ relucant to shift a couple of players on.

2 in - veratti and sanches would do. Haha.

If and a big IF we could sign veratti that would be a massive signing.

I would not be adverse to the same situaiton as rodriguez and bayern.

A 2 year loan with an option to buy at the end.

This way we could "try before you buy" and if Bale can make it through a couple of seasons with no significant injuries then fantastic we will bite their hand off. If not send him back.

Weggy that would be brilliant and would give the squad a massive buzz now and then again next summer there is no doubt about that.

I would love to see both players in the squad this time next year but can't see it happening.

I would say that his signing is "50/ 50" at the minute, but with all signings "it's not that easy". The transfer window is closing soon and time is not on our side "tick tock". But "maybe just maybe" he will sign and we will be "invincible". But we need to remember that he may need "time to grow" and we will have to take it a day at a time. One day he may be average and on "another day" he may be a world beater.

we won 1-3 in the same game last season. It was the home game we drew.

without being over confident. I want 0-5 haha.

Schmid why should he be happy. He was a sub. He should be pissed that he is on the bench and make a point when he gets the opportunity. He did that. Now he needs to keep doing that.

Martial came on in the 80th minute took 7 minutes to score and assisted in the 90th .

Fantastic 10 mins.

If we can sign 2 fullbacks before the deadline that would really make the transfer window a success and push the team on even further.
