Morning chaps. What's everyone's opinion on the way Jose sets his teams out? Would people be happy to play the style of football at out historically attacking club, albeit somewhat boring but effective. You can't deny Jose gets the results he wants with teams that aren't world beaters. Over two legs in Europe Chelsea are very hard to beat. I saw so many pathetic Liverpool fans saying "he parked the bus" etc, the fact is it was tactically brilliant.

Just for the record I'd take trophies & counter attacking football everyday.

I think he is very entertaining and sometimes his teams can be. This season is probably the most attacking he has ever been. I wouldn't say no but I think its LvG certainly.

2.) 30 Apr 2014
To play that boring football where you have 8/9 players defending and 1/2 waiting to break, you have to have quick players(but also good). which we aren't blessed with.

3.) 30 Apr 2014
Am not bitter in defeat, Chelsea got the 3 points fair play but how can you say it was a tactical masterclass? they had 27% possession, they got completely out played and I have no doubt Liverpool would of drawn or won if Gerrard didn't slip, the reason most Pool fans are annoyed with Maureen is because they we're time wasting straight from kick off, which is sad to see to be honest.

4.) 30 Apr 2014
Tactically brilliant, yet when Big Sam does it, he was accussed of bringing football back to the dark days by "Jose"? Jose is just big sam with better players, haha.
In truth there is no proper way to play football as the Spainish would have you believe, they didn't make the rules, football use to be played with 2 defenders and everyone else attack, italy was famed for it's defence, at the end of the day it is about results, a win is a win a loss is a loss. Managers just need to man up and say that where beat by the better manager, or team, and end all this park the bus and anti football football stuff, and us fans should stop buying into it, and call it as it is, we get beat or we draw or we win, i'm still going to be watching regardless of the result.

No Plymouth, Liverpool were outplayed by Jose and Chelsea. They played very well and yes they needed a lot of luck too, but they all done their jobs very well defensively. Liverpool couldn't even get a goal so they should have no complaints. Oh and Gerrard mis-controlled it before he "slipped", that wasn't unlucky, that was poor control.

Liverpool will also have to get used to this kind of game next season. Now teams know how to beat Liverpool, many teams will do this. It's about having a plan B and BR didn't have one. He will need to work on one for next season for sure. Everton are still your only realistic hope, much will depend on that result, but CP won't be easy.

Plymouth,

If Gerrard didn't slip you would have lost 1-0 rather than 2-0.

I said a few weeks ago I felt you are too obvious with your play and that Mourinho would work out how to play against you and then others will copy.

You only get away with playing the same way for a certain time. It's how players like Papiss Cisse manage to look great for their first few months in England and then get found out and players have a plan to defend against it.

It has astonished me in some games this season how teams have given Suarez and Sturridge so much time and space on the counter attack, I can't see that happening as much next season, and certainly won't happen against Pulis and Palace on Monday.

7.) 30 Apr 2014
All Jose is did againt Liverpool is what Utd tried to do against his Real Madrid team in last years champions league. And let's be honest, if Nani had not been unfairly sent off it would have worked to.

There is nothing wrong with looking at your teams strengths and the opposition teams strengths and applying tactics to win the match. It is what all top managers do. The teams that only play one way are the ones that fail. Case in point Utd under Moyes.

Sydney, we we're clearly not outplayed, we outplayed them in every department, yes they defended extremely well, but they won due to the slip, he miscontrolled it yes but if he didn't slip afterwards he would of recovered.

They had 10 men behind the ball from the 1st minute, they we're also time wasting to an extent I've never seen before, it's no surprise Abramovich maybe looking at getting someone else in, all that talent at his feet and he gets them playing like that.

It also makes me laugh how he can have a go at Big Sam for playing the way they did, even calling it 19th century football, yet he deploys the exact same tactics, the guy's a hypocrite and an absolute tit.

9.) 30 Apr 2014
Plymouth, I agree with the majority of that and Jose is a hypocrite. but Chelsea allowed Liverpool to have the ball, the plan was to defend well, soak up pressure then break. You were outplayed. It was negative tactics, but you were outplayed because that is how Jose wanted to play it and he executed very well.

10.) 30 Apr 2014
GDS2, if Gerrard didn't slip they wouldn't of scored the second, they scored the second due to us piling everyone forward in order to get level.

{Ed007's Note - If Joey Barton hadn't been sent off against City in 2012 Man Utd would have been champions.}

11.) 30 Apr 2014
Plymouth,

Of course Jose is a massive hypocrit, he makes people hate him, he does it on purpose to deflect any pressure off his team. You are here now having a go at Mourinho, but he wasn't the one time wasting, the players were. He is a genius, he doesn't care what you think, he cares about his team winning.

Also, we see teams time wasting like that at Old Trafford all the time, if you are going to be good get used to it. Goalkeepers walking to the other side of the 6 yard box to take a goal kick 5 minutes into the match at 0-0. Take it as a compliment.

They won because their tactics were better, and they won 2-0 so 'the slip' as you call it was not the only reason you lose.

12.) 30 Apr 2014
Mourinho was spot on! I'm sure you noticed how narrow their back 4 was. Forcing Liverpool to play it wide and put crosses in and they are hardly blessed with height up top, not to mention how outnumbered they were. Notice how many times they had to shoot from distance as well, only once I recall Suarez getting the ball to feet in the box.

Mourinho 2 - 0 Rodgers

13.) 30 Apr 2014
GDS2, what don't you understand? if Gerrard didn't slip we would of gone in 0-0 at HT, therefor the team wouldn't of attacked in such numbers which allowed Chelsea to walk through on goal due to all of our defence committing forward, which would of meant they wouldn't of scored the second, Chelsea won by an error not because of a tactical masterclass, Maureen didn't say to his players "keep it tight until the 46th minute lads, then Stevie will slip and I expect Ba to slot it home".

14.) 30 Apr 2014
Probably not that specific but that's probably the gist of it, "Defend well, frustrate them and pounce on any mistakes". Face it, Mourinho got his tactics spot on, Rodgers didn't. It really is ok to have a slice of humble pie, we've been eating it all season!

15.) 01 May 2014
Plymouth remind me bout ure record in the 2nd half of games!
