Whilst we are having our ups and downs it's nice to see supporters of other clubs sneering at us on these pages.

So let's just remind ourselves, Liverpool haven't won the title for 26 years, this is the 27th and as for Spurs, do records go back that far?

I take it as a compliment, it's a shame they don't come back on here when we win things to swallow their pride. I have to work with a bunch of scousers, I think they are happier united are struggling than that they are doing well, I always have to tell them I don't really care about Liverpool, I'm only 30 I don't remember a time when they were good.

When I read conversations like this, it reminds me how much I love football, but hate the fans.

I saw a video on facebook earlier, in which a player got knocked out. The title of the video was "footballer saves an opponents life" or words to that effect. What made me chuck my breakfast up, was that all the comments read like this.

"Liverpool fan here, great to see stuff like this blah blah"

Or

"I'm a spurs fan, but even i can appreciate what that player did"

The comments were like this for about 90 % of the thread.

Wtf is the matter with football fans?
You're just blindly following a business! None of you lot have anything to do with "the club".

It's embarrassing guys. The whole "we, us, you" thing kills me inside.

Manchester United do not care about you, stop thinking that it's "you're club". Just enjoy football for what it is. All you do is "follow" a team.

CSM, I remember the last time won the league just fine. I always look to the future not the past. It's funny how you utd fans always say that pool fans bring up/ living in the past yet here you are doing the same thing. I admit, I get more pleasure from taunting united fans over those of any other team. But that is what rivalry is all about. I expect and typically receive taunts from united fans when you get the better of us. As long as it doesn't get personal or abusive what is the harm?

No harm Bobby, I just find it amusing before you've actually won the league. If you read the posts on here most people were phlegmatic about yesterday, there's a few who get over emotional but most know there is no simple overnight fix. Still, 26 years my friend, 26 loooong years.

Yeast, I take your point. Some people have their club as their life, I've never really done that. I love my team, followed them for over 40 years but you are right about the moral standards in football being so much lower as is the way logic is applied. It's like this guff about not celebrating when you score against your old club, what a load of tosh. Some player started it and now it is de rigueur for everyone t do it.

When I say that I love football, but hate the fans, I was deliberately making an inflammatory point.

Obviously I don't hate fans of football, I just hate the pack mentality and blind devotion to what is basically a money making machine.

When I hear you lot talking about the money side of the game, my cringe bone snaps! Just as it does when a follower of a rival team says crap like "you played really well today, well done, we were poor" or " you lot spent £££ on blah blah! You're a joke"

I've visit this site every single day, and have done for the last 3 years, because I like the silly banter and rumours. But bugger me sideways, you all get far too concerned about what is effectively a massive money making machine. They don't care about you.

Fans have made the sport as big as it is, but I fear you've created a monster.

Bobby so finishing below us twice in 3 of the worst years utd have had in decades is dynasty is it. Also before going all cocky remember where klipperty finished in what essentially is a 2 team league. The worry is the other top teams Barcelona Bayern real etc have no problem staying at the top . Uniteds senior management are clueless. Even city change their manager regularly but it's been a while since they didn't look like top four material. The reality is United along with Fergy have made an almighty cock up of his stepping down. Bigger companies than United have faded through waiting for things to pick up. We are almost in the bottom half of the league.
