God I hate English media journalists. Watching a show on star and when asked about United they say that it's only 2 games and these aren't the toughest games. Asked about City they say signs are ominous and they look very good. We won 2 and City drew against Everton and struggled to break down Brighton. These people look less educated than Rooney.
They hate United and they hate Jose.

Let them hate, I just laugh at them.

Shan, are you perhaps being a tad over sensitive? City have looked great albeit their results do not reflect that. We have looked great as well but West Ham and Swansea are both pretty dire (as are Brighton I guess) . I have heard people in the media being too negative about United but others tipping us to win the League, I think they will all try and justify their positions with how they see things.

Media have always hated us, I love it, City and Pep could s**t on all things holy and they'd get lauded, makes me laugh.

Yeah I agree with AJH. I do hear a lot of so called "experts" saying we look much better this year, virtually zero criticism and justifiably so. City looked far better than Everton despite having 10 men for much of the game. Everton will be a match for anybody this season, so City do seem a more formidable opponent this year - even if you go on signings they have strengthened a great deal in key areas of weakness.

The media is flooded with ex Liverpool players so it can often seem that when there is a flaw to point out it is hammered home, but in recent years I think we have had a relatively easy ride in the media considering how dire we have been. Possibly because most educated football followers realise that maintaining the awful standard we set is not going to happen and it was a matter of time before we rose again.

We have played weakish teams so far, but we have looked good (although the Swansea performance was a step back from the West Ham one) . Early days, after all Huddersfield and WBA also have 6 points, it means very little at this stage. Man City will be our main threat for the title imo, but we couldn't have hoped for a better start and the signs are very promising.

Beast

Everton were pants mate. They have some defensive mid gana i think is his name who is a joke and atrocious in my opinion. He is a red card waiting to happen and gives away so many fouls in really bad areas. Teams will target him

They will get a hiding from a lot of the better teams. No factor at all this year imo. City were on another level and it only looked tight from a score stand point and Sane bone headed play gifted them a goal and besides that they did nothing with 11 against 10 men.

X - Yes City looked far superior, but Everton are a good side this year. City made them look below average, hardly any teams will do that this season. Time will tell but my point is accurate that City look good and we will see who is right about Everton.

They have signed some leaders, have a great balance to the team and will be very hard to beat this season. They have a good mix of youth and experience, with pace and dynamism. I also think they will sign another striker before the window closes, but irrespective they will be pushing top 4 this season imo. They will take points off the top half teams and will rarely drop points to the lower half teams.

Everton have may be signed too many players and will struggle for more than half a season before actually starting to put some sort of cohesion and game together. They have been poor in both games played this season. I really cannot see how City are very good based on those games and United were "yeah ok". City and Pep this season are a bomb waiting to explode. Too many players and let's see how many are satisfied with the play time they get. To fit them all in the team they will be playing out of position like Sane at wing back. Unless ofcourse the messiah gets to play 15 players in a game.

I agree that its too soon in a season to pass any sort of commentary against any team but the hate with United and love with Pep is unbearable sometimes.

I agree Shan the pundits are saying that mourinho must deliver but say nothing about pep who has spent more.

I'm with you Sepp, really rate Gana - breaks up the play fantastically without getting the plaudits of Kante. I was looking last season and think both he and Herrera had way better stats than Kante when it came to tackles and interceptions etc.

Everton won't break the top 6 imo beast. Why do you think they will be a force? I don't see enough goals in the team for them to mount a serious challange. The bought a striker on his last legs a swansea superstar and a dutch league midfielder keane at cb looked all at sea v city but i guess a lot of cbs will look all at sea against city they have good movement up top.

Beast if we had Everton's team and sqaud you would be livid, they are a bang average team who will finish no higher than 8th in my opinion.

Shan. I've been saying this for a long time. But the posters are right, it's called jealousy. When. they criticize, it means we're doing something right.
Have you also noticed how Rooney was meant to be the worst player in the world when he was with us and suddenly they're all singing his praises. One of them even said he's the most underrated player of his generation. Hypocrites. But let them carry on.
