I've largely happy with the incomings we have made.

With onana we have a modern keeper, who knows etc system in and out. The good thing is how vocal he is and how good he is on the ball. Premier League is hard for any GK in their debut season and I expect Onana to make mistakes but finally we have a keeper that does not give you a heart attack the moment ball comes to his feet.

Mount. We've always had some of the best english players in our team and Mount could be one of them. His defensive work rate is outstanding, and he almost scored his first goal had he not scuffed that sitter.
Not only is he coming back from a bad season with chelsea, he is playing a new position and the #7 shirt is heavy. It will take sometime for him to settle.

Have to see hojlund play, but I am happy we are signing high potential players to grow them into top players.

For the outgoings I can count around 8 players that should be sold or let go this year:

Henderson, Maguire, Bailly, Brandon, Fred, McTominay, Donny and Martial.
Even if we are able to permanently sell 3-4 out of the above lot I would say this will be a successful window.
If it was upto me I'd let Fred, Maguire, Brandon, Henderson and McTominay leave permanently.

I don't mind another season of donny, martial and bailly. 2 contracts will run out next year.
I have a feeling donny will play well under the new system after signing onana.

We should be very happy. ETH is continually changing the culture and ethos. His signings have been smart, and also for the longer term to build a squad and team to grow together. It’s a process - we all knew it’d take 2-3 years to challenge properly. And we are well on track.

Reading the news and having caught up on what everyone else has done. I think we will see a very competitive league with the likes of villa who seem to have done quite well in the window making a push for top 4.

Chelsea with all their trading also seem to have improved specially if they get a couple of more players across the line.

Our outgoing by the looks of it will be less than most thought as some of the players mentioned are not simple transfers and given we are 10 days away from the start of the new season, it looks like mc, Maguire are staying.

I expect dvb, fred and bailly to go and hopefully Ambrabat or a surprise name coming in as final pieces of business in this window and your usual outgoing late loan deals for some of the younger players as the window closes.

Still believe no chance city win the league and a bit miffed at their continuous spend on CB's. I think they buy about one or two a summer:)

'no chance City win the league'?
Bizarre.

Like the character of the players coming in -if Anthony can buckle down and Bruno can reign it in a bit - for a few years there we had more than our share of unlikeable players who I was glad to see the back of.

Im still looking for a couple more leaders, those big defeats last year when we just collpased, getting knocked out of the Europa league with a whimper was unacceptable . let's see 11 hardworking never say die players out there giving 100% every game. i'm giving ETH 8/ 10 up to now seems to be getting most things right.

What I like most about the players we are signing is they see to fit a clear profile. That gives me more confidence that they are going to succeed.

How quickly they can settle in and build up a rapport with the existing players will now be key.

As for the rest of the league, its always difficult to judge. Villa look like they might have a good season, but then Emery could leave by November and take a job in Spain and Villa's season could easily become derailed.

I like the look of what Chelsea are trying to do, but there's no telling how quickly they can progress.

Liverpool's signing's looking annoying good. But how quickly will they all come together and work? While there is always a chance that for whatever reason they just don't work out. Every summer you see what looks like a good signing just not work out.

The important thing is to just focus on us, what can we do, how do we play, how can we improve.

“No chance” city win the league, I’d love to hear the logic behind that Ahmad. I mean it’s fine to say things might be closer this coming season, but “no chance” is what you’d say about Tottenham, not City. You must be on the wind up with such a statement.

It might be a little closer if Arsenal and ourselves have more consistency, particularly we need to be a lot better away from home.

Chelsea seem to still be going through their identity crisis and it will be one hell of an achievement for Poch to make them challengers. I very much doubt he knows his best 11 and we’ve seen over the years how that can work against a manager.

Wazza

All great teams peak and have players who are the fabric of why they are great. City midfield has been the best midfield for years and their engine room. They have lost match winners this summer and kdb is 33 and will find the pl harder very year. They have added a worldly defender but not sure how that solves anything. I think they will surprise people by how they will struggle. Let's wait and see.

Ahmad, if there’s no chance I’d happily take you in on that, name your odds and stake and I’m game.

Ahmad H

First off, De Bruyne's only recently turned 32.
Secondly, his style of play has never been about gusto and lung-busting energy. What sets him apart from his peers is his IQ - the guy is the epitome of a Rolls-Royce player. He will drop deeper as he ages, but even at 34/ 35 he'll still be among the best in the league.

In terms of replacing Gundogan, Kovacic is a decent signing.
Florian Wirtz would be an upgrade on Mahrez.
Foden is De Bruyne's natural successor. He's obviously a different player, but might well be a better fit for the evolving style of Pep's City going forward.
Together with the emergence of Palmer, I really don't think City's midfield is weakened by much at all.
They're much stronger in defence now and still have Haaland to dominate the opposition.

I'll see your suggestion and raise you this - City will finish top by 15+ points.

City will win the League. Kovacic and Gvardiol are very good signings. Foden and Grealish will kick on, Haaland will continue to knock them in.

City are probably a week behind Arsenal in fitness now. Arsenal should be winning this.

Shaps, that Emery comment was a bit of a leap! What makes you think he'd suddenly up sticks and leave in November? Any inside info that might help my betting account look a bit healthier? ?.

if this is the end of their transfer window, zero chance of retaining the title. 15 points gap lol okay then see you guys in april.

Ork when did city sign Wurtz and he is not an upgrade on Mahrez btw.

Ahmad,

No chance of winning the league is just wrong, and you must know that yourself, the bookies have them clear favourites for a reason, because they have the best players and the best manager. Adding a year to KDB’s age doesn’t make him that age.
