Is it just me, or does the Modric link leave you less than excited?

Chief

Chief

1.) The same link last season left a lot of people excited Chief. He's hardly deteriorated over the course of 1 season at Madrid. Similarly folk on here were crying out for Dembele before he ended up at Spurs last summer. Truth is we all (myself included) get excited about who the media portray as current targets. I for one would welcome Modric in a heartbeat, simply because he's a country mile better than the pile of sh**e we currenly have.

2.) Modric is not "the best in the world" that our new manager has told us we are looking to buy

I would be notably dissatisfied with Modric and so should we all if we have aspirations to be the top team in our league or Europe

I explained several days ago about why I feel that way about Modric and actually today will add that I would prefer Fellaini over him and I don't think he is top level either. We appear to be chasing Fabregas and that is the level we should look at, it is a level well above Modric

3.) Modric is a great player. I would be over the moon!

4.) Look how excited people were getting about strootman, who on earth would put him in a world IX? People on here were creaming themselves over him but he wasn't even that stand out at PSV, ask their fans. Modric is twice the player strootman is, albeit a different one, he's just old news on here now.

Once more Uniteds transfer excitement descends into chaos.
Year on year we allow ourselves to be drawn into a wish list frenzy, abusing those who dare to disagree, only to have our hearts ripped out again by a club who seem to want to buy cheap yet sell even cheaper!
I'm done with this "no value" and procrastinating approach.
Pathetic.

Chief.

Chief

1.) There is hardly any value though. Cavani £45+ million is ludicrous, Fernandinho £30 million ridiculous, it is silly and hard to find a gem for cheap now and Thiago is no different. He is a top player who lots of clubs would like to have and it isn't as easy as paying a fee and signing him. Also how do you actually know who we are in for? You are going on who we are being linked with in the press and by what your hearing that is all. We are one of the best clubs at working behind the scenes which is why we can only guess. Stop moaning and support the club.

2.) Even at £25m, Thiago would be value for money.

3.) Plenty of value to be had IMO. paulinho for £17 mill, villa £4.4 mill, van ginkel £9 mill

4.) What is value though? If cavani signs for Chelsea and scores 30 goals and win the league and a cup, will that not be value?
It is supply and demand I'm afraid, if you have something which people want, then you can dictate the price. Value goes out of the window and it is basically for people who can't afford or don't want to shop at the top table.
Rvp was 29 and we paid £24m for him, so is that value? Probably not. But was it a great deal for United and the fans, of course it was.
We're all united fans and want the best players at our club, sometimes, we have to push the boat out and get the best. We all want to win the league and the CL and for that to happen, we need to strengthen midfield and we might have to pay well over the odds to do so.

Am I correct in assuming Fabio is returning after his loan spell at QPR, or are there other plans for him?

Chief

1.) Chief
Let united chief seat on the chair officially. then he can have his say.

C'mon Eds.
Lets get busy.
Block the persons.
I've heard Lewandowski may be on.
Sydney?

Chief.

Chief

1.) I think Lew is hanging out for the BM move, but I think if that falls through we are next in line. If we can hurry up and sort this Thiago stuff out, we can get our best men on the case.

Sydney!
