With rumours of Rooney being out for the season anyone know when RVP is due back?

Hilliard

1.) Think I read he may be back for Norwich game?

2.) Hopefully he'll miss the travesty that will be Englands world cup. He always struggles for us in the season after a world/european cup.

His game is so full on he needs a proper rest over the summer in order to be able to play for us to his full capacity during the season.

This transfer window has been an absolute bloody joke. What a farce this is. We are Utd. Why have we totally messed this up? Woodward needs to give an explanation as to wtf has actually gone on here. Very embarrassing. What is happening to our club?

So according to the rags, Arsenal are after Pogba. If they do get him what an almighty error we made letting this lad go. I know 'us fans' don't get to see the whole picture but sometimes you do have to question the decision making within OT. Why didn't we just pay the alleged 40k per week?

Like most of you on here I'm pretty disappointed with the preseason however to be fair Moyes is still getting to know the squad. He has given fringe players a chance and that, in my opinion, has been a huge bonus. Had Fergie done this with Pogba he would now probably be established in our midfield, but hey that's in the past now and we've got to move forward.

I do not know who, when or if we will sign the players we need but I for one would take a season in transition to bring the fantastic youth players through. This could see us establish the nucleus of the squad for years to come.

It has happened before with the Becks, Giggs et al era, why not now. As much as we want it we cannot win the league every year. If we buy stars and do not give the kids a chance, they will leave and we will not benefit from the years of investment in them. Remember the famous quote 'you don't win anything with kids' well we didn't do bad last time did we.

Lets give Moyes a chance. Getting on his back will not achieve anything.

By the way anyone know why Powell has not been involved per season?

Hilliard

1.) Not being funny, but moyes knows our squad having scouted them when at Everton. He clearly has a good understanding of our weaknesses as he exploited them each time we met last season and the season before.

A two year old could see that like a chocolate eclair we have a soft centre. I hope he does well, but so far his tenure is leaving me cold.

2.) Its one thing looking at a team from outside and having scouted them two or three times a season when your due to play them; to actually working with the same players day in, day out in training and the like. Yes he's seen what some players can do on the pitch but he wouldn't have known what they were like in training, subtle things like personalities. Somethings you can't be told and you have to see for yourself and this means time on the training pitch.

I'm really not bothered about drawing games against teams from Sweden or Japan who are half way through their seasons and fully match fit. Its all about getting our fitness up and trying the young lads, which is what he has done. The likes of Januzaj, Lingard and Zaha have played their way into the first team squad.

Yes its a concern we still haven't bought a midfielder or 2 or sorted leftback, but we have no idea of what is going on behind the scenes.

AS for Powell I believe he's injured, maybe had surgery?

Mort

3.) Yes Mort, Powell had surgery on his back during the summer and is still recovering.
