So LVG has us playing boring, negative football. He is arrogant and autocratic and we are battling to keep within reach of fourth spot. Boo! Let's sack him. There is someone available who has taken the premier league champions to the verge of relegation in half a season. He is not arrogant, much better than that, he is a megalomaniac.

He doesn't play boring, negative football, oh wait a minute, yes he does! He can hold the dressing room. Our players would really trust him (not) . Perhaps I have it wrong but as far as I can see Mourinho appears to be in the full throes of some sort of mental breakdown.

He is not stable. If he becomes manager the club will be broken for years to come. We need a sane as well as successful manager. Guardiola or Ancelotti are the only candidates that spring to mind. As for Giggs, someone must be having a laugh.

My thoughts entirely. Especially about the negative football.

Agree that pep or Ancelotti will be best two options. But don't write mourinho off completely, he won the league last year and has had a major blip this year.
I don't want him either but if he was to become our manager then sir Alex will hopefully be a calming influence on him.

I enjoy seeing the best teams in Europe compete in the Champions League. I hate to say it but I think the competition might be better without us. The football we play is pedestrian, boring and lacklustre. I never thought I'd see the day when Man Utd are the worst of the British clubs in the competition. The only players of note were Smalling and De Gea ☹️.

Have to admit it was embarrassing to watch.

Gary Neville comes across as so intelligent and articulate. It might just be me but Ryan Giggs really doesn't. Legend as a player but maybe not the best manager material? I'd rather have Gary any day. What do other people think? I read the posts every day by the way but have only posted a couple of times over the years.

Would love to see Neville back at the club in some sort of coaching role, seems to be very knowledgeable on the game.

I would have Neville over Giggs every time, its a no brainer for me.
Neville will be the manager one day and I'm pretty certain he will be fantastic at the job.

I hope so Herbie - I really do.

In fairness to Giggs he is No2 at United and will be extremely aware everything he does or says on this programme will be scrutinised and may have been schooled to be as middle ground as possible. He would not for example want to be out there seen as saying sack the (Salford) manager because the team are not successful, not playing good football for example. Still my view has not changed and Giggs must not be Uniteds next manager.

I would be far happier with Gary Neville as Uniteds number two.

If we harbour any ambitions of getting back to the top, then Peppers has to be the next manager. And I would like to see GN as no2. Also, about time Scholes was brought in too.

Schmidfield

I agree Pep should be our No1 target and would prefer Neville as his No2 however think Scholes has not done himself any favours with his criticisms from outside the club, regardless of who the next manager will be. It feels a bit like rent a quote at the moment.

Redman

Why do you say that, scholes said what everyone else sees and as a football pundit, he has give a view.

Neville destroyed LVG's with his comments after the Arsenal game, calling him Naive and tactically a disaster and a few other choice words.

Everyone reads too much into this stuff and not sure why people think Neville is more qualified that Giggs. Neville is an assistant coach of a national team that comes together every 2 months for 10 days, where giggs is getting experience of running a Pl team every day.

{Ed001's Note - you are also forgetting that Neville is being fed all his 'insights' by a huge staff of producers etc. It is not like this is all him coming up with it all, he is getting it handed to him to use as well. So how do people know which is him and which is the producers?}

GCU

I think the club has enough critics without one of its own being so brutal. There is reason to critique the team and LVG but for me Scholes has consistently gone over the top.

Neville was right during the first half when commentating live about the Arsenal game and afterwards said what many of us said on here. I wonder if Giggs had a hand in, commented on those tactics as he sat motionously on the bench next to the manager, whilst Nev was dissecting the tactics live in the first half?

Well I am glad I didn't have to pay to watch that. I appreciate that negativity is not helpful but hey even if we are Manchester United we do still need to play football if we want to win. Been like this for a couple if years and Moyes just reinforces A losing mentality. Please please please introduce some entertaining football into the equation then I will be back to supporting the team, win or lose. I just want feel the love again.

Just thinking about SAF and who he rated highly. Neville was his captain, not Giggs. That's all.

No - completely disagree that Moyes will turn it around. He is not good enough in any respect. The team needs rebuilding and we must start with the manager. He has no plus points at all, no tactical ability, not a winner, personality of a wet rag, no media savvy, comes across as inarticulate and ignorant, no charisma whatsoever and he does not seem to have the support of the dressing room. I am fed up with the Miyes apologists - he is the manger and the buck stops with him. For me if we don't beat Olympiakos by more than 2 to go through in the Chamipons League, he should be sacked.
