Absolutely deluded! The player wants to leave-yes. The club are willing to allow him to leave-yes. The price has moved (ACCORDING TO THE MEDIA) from £15m (Arsenal media) to £20m then £25m now £30m (Utd. media).
He will leave if the club receive an acceptable offer. RoKo said over a week ago the Utd. offer was not serious (£20m) and it was then speculated £25m was wanted. Media yesterday were suggesting to RoKo that £25m was wanted and he made it plain that was incorrect.
He will be on his way if Saints valuation is met AND he wants to move to that club. Utd have a problem in both respects at the moment. Saints have no reason to go for a quick sale at a knock down price.

Shaw for £30m+. If you know anything about Morgan as a player, would Saints not be expecting more for him??

One offer from Man Utd-£20m, turned down and nothing since.

Morgan off to Austria tomorrow for pre season training with Saints-some done deal.

(Don't believe me, see RoKo press conference this pm.)

Interesting that you think a medical is imminent when no serious offer has been made by Utd. for Morgan!! (See interview with RoKo TODAY on Saints WS after he took training with the squad, including Morgan.)
As yet, paper talk is saying one thing ("a fee has been agreed"!!??, RoKo another. I know who I believe, but feel free if you want your leg lifted.

A deal may yet happen but don't expect it to be easy. RoKo has no need to be helpful to LVG and he knows all about playing and winning the CL. He will be listened to by Morgan, and he may well just question how settled will the rest of the team be for next season. And whilst this is going on there is nothing to say another suitor may not appear.

I see a comment about Shaw. Have you considered what logic is there for Morgan to be sold for less than Luke?? There do seem to be a few smelly porkies floating around this "story".

Yes, and a leg can be broken in pre-season training!!

Still doesn't sound like a player about to have a medical.

Not as close as you think. Morgan is unlikely to move as a second or third choice or back-up, and Saints will not sell below their valuation. If LVG wants to play games with RoKo he will lose.

Remember, Morgan SPECIFICALLY said he wants to PLAY in CL. Unless he is sure that will happen he will not move. He is far better than a squad player and his international career needs him to progress.

Don't think it is that close. Morgan is at Staplewood today for first day of pre-season training. That doesn't sound like a player about to have a medical.

"A long term replacement for Carrick" is NOT a big step up. So, eventually he may replace Carrick and play in the CL? Probably get there quicker by staying at Saints. This is Morgan who played with Saints in League 1 including Tuesday nights with the sleet blowing across the ground at Hartlepool because he loves playing the game and was not interested in sitting on a bench.
He certainly is well beyond being an apprentice, and if your arrogance is matched by LVG you will not see him signing for Utd. He wants to play in the CL, not sit watching someone else do so next season and then find CL football is no longer available. He can do that in front of his TV.
I think you miss the point there are better step ups he can make than what your club seem to offer but then footballers (or their agents) still make some strange decisions so who knows.

Clasie is not necessarily a replacement for Morgan. He was a possible signing at Saints this time last year. There will be no advanced talks with anyone until Morgan's valuation is met.

80% likely he will leave Saints.

100% he will not until Saints valuation met.

IMO a move to Utd is only around 50% after the above two are met.

Almost without exception, this site sees him as a decent option amongst another 6 or 7 to rotate within midfield and the media follow suit. Do you really think that is what he wants?? If so, you know nothing about the player. Equally, how do you think this looks to him??

samthered-if you would rather try and wind me up than check out my information feel free. Just suggest you visit the Saints WS and listen to todays interview with Les Reed. Doesn't seem to link in with the rumour that Morgan is having a medical this weekend.
Quite clear to me Utd have other preferred targets and just keeping an interest in Morgan currently. That could be a real problem. So could the fact that Saints will only agree to a transfer within a very limited timeframe.
I believe Saints v Valencia is on the box tomorrow. Will Morgan be in the squad?? Now, that should excite a few people!

Where has it become fact that Morgan wants a move to Utd??

I understand he is less than keen and would prefer a move elsewhere. Why would he want to be mopping up (occasionally) for a poor back 4 without De Gea behind them?? That's a hiding to nothing.

Interview from within Saints this pm states any club purchasing Morgan will pay Saints valuation otherwise he will stay at the club. Morgan is aware of this. And I have suggested the media valuation that has gone £20m/£25m/£27m is speculation and is still some way from Saints actual valuation, so don't get too excited just yet.

Yes, he reported. Yes, he trained. Yes, he travelled with the squad to Austria later today for initial pre-season games.
Still more mileage before this plays out.
