Good start, I'm very happy with that. Efficient, effective, solid and we haven't really found out anything we didn't know.

We still require a bit more dig in the midfield as Cleverley just won't cut it, I'm not really sure what he brings, if anything.

Not sure how anyone can't see that Fellaini would improve our midfield massively.

We need Kagawa in the team as well, his creativity and ability to drift across the line between midfield and attack is very dangerous and we miss him when he isn't playing.

Of course yet more evidence that RvP is the best striker in the world bar none. Cavani, Falcao etc couldn't lace his boots.

Also nice to see Rooney getting a good reception from the United fans, just goes to show despite his petulance and lack of communication to keep us in the loop, we stay loyal to our players.

Come on United!

1.) Agree with most of this Steve. We'll clearly be competitive this season but our midfield didn't shine today against moderate opponents ( and I'm Welsh!). Giggs is 40 in 3 months, Cleverly is not Utd class but our strikers, as they did last season, rescued us. If we got Cesc and Fellaini we'd be much stronger. We can but hope.

So far so good. We are still a very capable team and can obviously get the job done despite what the usual nit-pickers will say. A bit more flair and a little bit of dig in the middle and we will be fine. A fit Wayne Rooney just off RvP, Kagawa drifting from left to centre and possibly Fellaini in the middle beside Carrick would do me nicely. Anything else is a bonus.

Steven

1.) That's what the 'nit pickers' want. So how come if the nit pickers want two good signings, then they are shot down in flames.

What is this common sense you are talking? Be gone man, it's time to find fault and get picky! A 4-1 win is not enough, I'm sure you can find players to criticise if you try hard enough.

Ed, in your opinion, will Wayne Rooney be a Manchester United player come the end of the transfer window?

Cheers. {Ed004's Note - Yes}

Steven

1.) That is really quite interesting Ed004 IMO considering many people are so sure he is off. I've been sat on the fence all summer and still am!

2.) Interesting. Is that just a personal gut feeling, or do you have any new info? {Ed004's Note - No just can't see Chelsea and united coming to an agreement}

He clearly has potential, don't think anyone with a football brain can deny that. However, one game absolutely does not prove the doubters wrong. I like him and think he will be a big player for us for many years, but he has to grow up and start maturing in to the player he can clearly be on a consistent basis. Thus far, he has had more bad games than good in a United jersey.
