6 months before the event I was told owen was joining united thought to myself what a joke that is, now the same person tells me any deal with barca will mean vidic going the other way, is that the reason we looking at garry (spelling ) something to think over

boarshawred

1.) Unlikely, Vidic is our captain and a very good one. Still our best CB by a long way.

Ozwald

2.) But Thiago has a buyout clause. We have no reason to offer anything but the €18m or whatever it is, as long as Thiago wants to come to us Barca are powerless to stop it as Dortmund were with Gotze.

That doesn't mean we aren't selling Vidic to Barca seperately of course.

Brendan81

3.) Sorry but that doesn't mean anything. I also predicted Owen, purely on the basis that it was a logical move, doesn't mean I know jack about the details of the offer being discussed with Barca.

I already broke my run of predictive form, my last transfer predictions have been Owen to utd, Owen to stoke, Charlie Adams to stoke, and Gibson to Everton, all predicted at least 3 months in advance and before any major rumours to the same effect appeared, all correct. This year, I've already got Gotze and Moutinho wrong.

4.) Michael Owen?

5.) Why would we offer Vidic when we can easily afford £18 million

Melwing28

6.) Why not do it for sweet FA Vidic is good but injuries are playing havoc with our CBs

Oh and no name that can predict everything 3 months in advance care to give me some for this pre-season that's unknown so I can bet on it?

Oh yeh and William hill blow they need 24-48 hours for a bet like that to give a price

7.) Im pretty sure I seen a interview with owen and he said that the night before he was meant to sign for someone fergie rang him and up till then even owen him self didn't no about a move to united was possible so unless the interview I watch owen was lying or the personal telling you is either psychic or is fergy him self

8.) Ok, pardoe, my point was that predicting a particular transfer doesn't mean someone has inside knowledge. I have accurately predicted several transfers over the last few years, but I have no inside knowledge, it's educated guesses. As illustrated by the fact I haven't got any right this summer.

9.) For what it worth and it is totally un corroborated I was told a few weeks ago that Vidic was wanted by Real Madrid potentially forming part of any Ronaldo deal and United were not ruling it out. Barca need a defender but unless we switch targets to Fabregas we don't need to let Vidic go as part of the Thiago deal. Excellent player but he is 31 and we don't know how his knee injury will affect him going forward, hence there may be a decision to make this summer.

Red Man

10.) What about a deal for Sanchez including vidic?

11.) I half expect something like

Real get
Vidic + 50m - for Ronaldo
City to pay 30m for pepe

Then
Madrid to pay 80m for bale

12.) Wow. I liked that last post.
But I don't think Real Madrid needs a CB right now, unless, of course, they don't want to wait for Varane to completely evolve AND they're just fed up with Pepe, which is a pretty reasonable scenario.

another false dawn

boarshawred

1.) Another showing of rubbish defence. Smalling nowhere near good enough at this level.
Desperately need an experienced cb.
And also need an experienced cm player like Vidal.

2.) Any chance of De Sciglio and Hummels moving to us in the next year eds or is somebody else more likely

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

lets all get real the only excuse we have is that we are plainly not as good as we all thought we was no quality in the first 11 or the squad, all our problems should have been rectified in the transfere window

boarshawred

1.) 23 Sep 2013 19:41:18
1. left wing:
If City can play Nasri, or Silva, as a winger who cuts inside, why can we not do the same with Kagawa? For me the left wing should be Kagawa and Januzaj. No more Young!

2. center back
Rio is a great leader and very good on the ball, but I am afraid more costly mistakes will happen this year. He is past his prime. Time for Evans, Jones, or Smalling, depending on health and form.

Zidaniel

2.) That would have been some transfer window, Boarshaw, if we'd rectified the 'no quality in the first 11 or the squad'.

How many do you think we would have had to buy in to rectify that situation?

3.) Maybe four top quality players are needed

26 Jul 2013 19:15:45
maybe now we should have gone for the soton player sniederlin if that's spelt correctly and the celtic lad wymana what ever he was called at least we may have got them 2

boarshawred

1.) 26 Jul 2013 20:57:16
@ AJH

Not to mention players who aren't good enough for Manchester United.

2.) Improve your knowledge. if u call urself a football fan.
Wanyama is gone to southhampton ages ago.
Wake up

Rodio17

3.) Before u reply. appology in advance for telling u off without reading your banter properlly. sorry mate.

i will not be expecting any big money signings any time soon, why do you think moyes was given the job, to work on a shoe string budget, like he seems to be quite good at well at everton he was, please the glazers no end, lol when I read about cr7 and bale if only and we all know what type of players you get for 7m bebe of course, maybe at best fellaini and bains so I will be expecting clevs to still be a first choice next season,

boarshawred

1.) Wow your a barrel of optimism ain't ya lol
Chris the REDman

2.) Fellanini is a country mile better than cleverly.

shahram

3.) Fellaini is better than clevs but is he the quality we want I don't think so
and actually i'm a realist and can say I will be surprised if we get any of the big names being mentioned

4.) Boarshared - the new Nomidfield?

Mate, you depress the clean f**k out of me!

I hope if some good news comes out of OT this summer, someone's standing close by you - wouldn't want you keeling over and cracking your head open :)

5.) I agree with you, it will be a summer of disappointments. We will be told we've bid for the top players but some horrible team with lots of money bid more. And next we will be told that we don't need players here unless they want to play for United. What a load of utter tosh.
We will make no good signings and we will move backwards now.

6.) 24 May 2013 18:46:11
Never heard of that saying before Steve. Lol Is that opposed to a dirty one?

7.) An 'Ulsterism', shappy :)

Nothing dirty about it, just a way of expressing how some dark cloud can bring you down with them.

8.) 24 May 2013 22:20:35
Typical we teach you irish a language that won't cause cause odd looks of horror if searched on google and you ruin it. I could put up with the Americans ruining it, they don't know any better. But this is beyond the pale:-P lol.

united shares fall 4% on stockmarket lowering clubs value by 80million, and maybe another fall when moyes gets the nod, that's our transfere budget down the pan

boarshawred

1.) Why? The 80 million isn't real money its just a valuation on what the clubs worth.

The Glazers value the club higher than what most people value it.

2.) It doesn't really matter to the glazers/transfer market aslong as there not thinking of selling the club. as soon as the club starts next season well it'll shoot back up. don't worry

scout.

3.) The stock market price has nothing to do with our transfer budget. Get it together.

It;s only natural that such a decision would have caused the stock price to fall but that's just temporary. It may fall again if Moyes is announced as manager but once we start winning games next season things will be back to normal.

KB

4.) How can a fall in the share price impact on our transfer budget? Of course it doesn't! LMAO

DL10

5.) Our transfer budget has nothing to with daily fluctuations of the stock price. It has to do with our annual results and FFO.

Shahram

6.) This is the most uneducated negative post I have seen on here for a while. It is totally and utterly ridiculous and just trying to find a big negative when there isn't one.

The club will have expected the price to fall when the announcement was made, in fact they even said similar in their last notes.

7.) Now I know why Ed002 refuses to even consider talking finance with us.

8.) Im finding it quite hard at the mo to be positive when the great man is being replaced by david moyes

9.) Be negative about that then, don't just find things to complain about that you don't understand.

The important thing is don't lose heart we will be ok as gds says our next four games are winnable

boarshawred

Seems everyone is now seeing the light, SAF has to take some of the blame for defending the glazers no value in the market we have all heard the excuses now is the time for him to man up and except he as made a mistake and recommend moyes goes before he takes this club any lower, but i'm not surprised where we are said in the summer we would struggle to make top four

boarshawred

Theoretically every game is winnable but i'm afraid not for this team with moyes in charge, I would think another two defeats at last this season so forget top four finish

boarshawred

Agree about feeling cheated I let my season go in summer for that reason and I don't see under the glazers anything ever changing so we will have to live with it

I said at start of season we would struggle to make top4 but now i'm genuinely concerned about the future under moyes
