So the rebuild is half done, and we will continue to see more players join in January and next summer.

I'm interested to know how many more players do people think we need and in what positions?

Personally I think we need two centre backs, a right back, a defensive midfielder and a versitle winger.

I'd like to see Hummels, Schar, Carvalho and Konoplyanka. I'm not sure who would be best for right back atm.

1.) 24 Sep 2014
LVG sees Januzaj as a #10 and even Januzaj fancies that position for his future. Its already congested as of now. Januzaj will be getting more game time as a winger in a 4-3-3 according to LVG. Now, why would we want another winger as we have Di Maria and Januzaj to fill in there. I can't fathom any more suffocation for space for that boy.
One CB, RB and CM would do it for me to get the balance right. Rafael is such a liability and has cost us games even though he is pretty good going forward. I can't see it changing considering the fact Clattenberg bought into the dive for that penalty.

2.) 24 Sep 2014
If Januzaj is good enough he will play regardless of who comes in. We can't just have two top class wide forwards in the squad, what happens when one is injured? Revert back to Young and Valencia? I hardly think that is a terrifying duo.

We need someone like Hummels who will bring some calmness and authority into the back line. A powerful midfielder like Strootman is a must as well. Not sure we need two centre half's, but that may be that I am being sentimental and wanting Jones, Smalling and Blackett to succeed. We also need someone like Reus.

I can see Rafael, young and one of Evans or smalling leaving come summer and maybe a surprise, one of Mata, Rooney or van persie depending if we sign falcao.

I'm not sure what rightbacks are around, it might have to be a short-term fix and see if janko can step up.

If we were to sign a winger i'd like to see depay.

Centrebacks depends what's available and who leaves.

Shappy i don't think we can get hummels and schar both as Ed002 has mentioned that hummels will only leave if dortmund gets replacement and schar is on their list. As regards to carvalho we had opportunity to sign him in last window, but we optd not to and i think Lvg doesn't rate him.

5.) 24 Sep 2014
Well we have brought in 6 first team players, i would say another cm a cb and maybe a rb and we could push for top 4 this season.
So just 9 first team players needed to improve on last seasons 7th

6.) 24 Sep 2014
If he is going with 4-3-3 then over the next two windows I think we will see another wide forward (Reus/Pedro/Draxler/Ronaldo) so we have Janujaz, Di Maria plus one to compete. Young will probably stay as he is versatile. I can see Rooney dropping deeper if we stay with this formation although I don't think this is a wise move.

Mata & RVP I expect to be moved on at some point as we simply won't need them for the formation with Rooney, Falcao & Wilson competing for the striker role and no need for a Mata type player with this formation - just too slow over the ground and too good for the bench or for when we occasionally switch formation.

2 experienced CB's are essential as we can't compete at the top level with Jones, Smalling or Evans as CB's as it currently stands. They can be good, but not good enough to be first choice for a title winning team yet, they have to impress this season. Rojo may be good enough so only one is acquired, but they all have this season only to impress if you ask me.

I think Rafael will stay first choice RB with plenty of cover options already in the squad. If he continues to miss a lot of games through injury then a summer RB will be acquired and Rafael moved on.

Strootman will also come in imo. Replacing Carrick and competing with Blind (who can cover everywhere).

There are a lot of players playing for their future obviously, so it is too soon to know exactly who is going to cut the mustard. But with some of LVG's decisions already nothing would surprise me.

1 CB, 1 CM, 1 Winger. Definitely need to be signed if we go 4-3-3.

Two centre halves another centre mid a right back & we'll be sorted.I personally would get rid of Evans,Smalling,Young,Valencia,Fellaini

8.) 24 Sep 2014
Is it just me who doesn't get this Januzaj argument? Would you not sign Messi because Januzaj might get less games? I just don't get it.

My guesses for the next 2 windows are for departures, Nani, Hernandez, Cleverley and Zaha to complete loan moves permanently. I can see Lindegaard, Rafael, Smalling, Young, Valencia, Fellaini, Mata and RVP or Rooney going. Coming in I see Coleman at RB, Hummels at CB, Strootman for CM, Depay for the wide positions and Falcao completing his permanent move if he is a success in the PL. I think our first 11 and cover players may be something like this

I'd be happy with just one quality CB in january tbh

11.) 24 Sep 2014
Fresh
Well that depends
Are we signing messi? Or ronaldo?
If yes then why would januzaj want to stay? I think he feels he's ready. Except for the formation, the manager feels he is ready. How will he prove he's good enough if he comes on for the last 10-20 min?
What might happen is he might leave, go to a club he'll start at and then go in a direction depending upon how good he is.
Mind you, I'm not saying we should not buy another winger but rather that buying a superstar will impede adnan's progress. Why do you think so few of madrid's players are from the academy?

Fresh, when you have a young lad with the ability that Januzaj has, you have to give him some room to play and develop further, to reach his potential. Without first team football, his growth as a player will suffer and we won't see the best of him. Why buy extra players, when we have a lad who could be very special already at the club? I think buying someone like Depay and letting forward players Nani, Valencia, Young and RVP or Rooney go, would leave us with good cover but still giving Januzaj plenty of games on the right or left and at the tip of the midfield 3. Wilson would also get chances up top, as would Lingard and Pereira, plus a few extra promising youngsters in various positions, if the likes of Rafael, Smalling and Fellaini were sold.

13.) 24 Sep 2014

We should maybe just get rid of the academy and buy established stars.
What if instead of giving the class of 92 a chance fergy had went out and spent big on 4/5 star players

14.) 24 Sep 2014
Ultimately, I wouldn't turn say Reus down just because Januzaj has to compete with him.

15.) 24 Sep 2014
Fresh
Then maybe the media are right and we are starting to lose the traditions of the club

16.) 24 Sep 2014
So what happens when one of Di Maria or Januzaj gets injured? Would you be delighted to see Valencia line up in their place or Reus?

17.) 24 Sep 2014
Rues ain't going to come and sit on the bench incase of injuries

18.) 25 Sep 2014
Fresh
valencia is a squad player every team needs them . If valencia sits on the bench this season and and only starts due to injuries i will be quite happy.
if we signed reus in january and adan left becsuse he couldn't get a game would yo be delighted.
do you want our best young players to be given a chance in the first team to prove themselves or would u rather we just bought the latest superstar ?

19.) 25 Sep 2014
If a suitor comes in for Janujaz at £20mil I think LVG would sell him, I get the impression he isn't the type of wide player he likes and with 4-3-3 he is not going to play in the hole.

I would like Janujaz to be given a run of games, it feels like an age since he has done much for the first team - he always seems peeved as well which makes me think he would jump at a move away, frustrating if it happens.

Don't know who Janujaz is Beast, but I imagine Januzaj is rated a lot lot higher than £20 million by everybody at the club.
