Could be our lowest premier league points total since 13/ 14.

If we pick up wins against Watford, Brighton, Bournemouth, Villa, Palace, Southampton and West Ham that leaves us with 54 points (fingers crossed) .

Then we are relying on getting points from City and Sheff Utd at home and Chelsea, Everton, Spurs and Leicester away, and its away where we have struggled this year with only 3 wins.

We've struggled completely mate. Our form on the whole is a problem! Lost to Burnley and Palace at home. Our most impressive win of the season came away from home. Chelsea is an absolute must win or we are on a rapid downward spiral.

Fred thinks he is improving so we are ok.

The sentimental tosh has got the better of the decision makers when it comes to this manager.

It is quite amazing really. Everton moved above us yesterday having been in the relegation mix, so how could such a change like that happen? Maybe because Carlo Ancelotti is a three-time Champions League winner and has lifted league titles as a manager in Italy, England, France and Germany. Meanwhile at Old Trafford?

He did. However Ole has no major European or league titles on his CV either. Ancelotti is leagues above him.

The big difference between Ancelotti’s start and Ole’s is the trajectory.

When Ole arrived there was an immediate and dramatic shift in performances - i. e. the players upped their game. This was prior to Ole having any time to coach the team or implement his ideas. Basically the players excelled because Jose was sacked, not because Ole was the manager.

In contrast, Everton have seen progressive improvement - i. e. the more time Ancelotti has been in charge, the better the team have performed. It remains to be seen if they will maintain this progress over the rest of the season, but it is obvious that the more time Ole has had to implement his ideas, the worse the team has performed.

There's obviously no comparisons between the previous success of both managers. That wasn't my point. Carlo's previous may mean he maintains his upward trajectory, but there's no guarantees. I'd still be very surprised if they're still above us come the end of the season. I know I may pay for that remark, but it's still very early days at Goodison.
