I still feel that a lot of the problems stem from not having a Director of Footbal in place.
He would then determine the strategy, the recruitment, scouting and determine the correct targets ahead of the transfer window, Without one we are up Schitts Creek without a paddle.
Also it seems that City have a policy of trying to sign every target we want and rub our noses in it. Do people agree?

{Ed002's Note - Obviously not - Manchester United appointed a Director of Football this season and Manchester City have zero interest in signing Manchester United targets.}

I think the issue is clear direction and vision. Maybe that could come from a director of football, but that only works if the whole club will pull in the same direction and get behind the plan and do what is needed to make the plan work.

As for City trying to sign "our" targets, I very much doubt it. City seem to be well run and have a clear plan with their recruitment. You can see the kind of players they go for and they all fit a certain profile.

We just need to understand that as a club we get linked to around 900 players a year, with maybe 300 of them moving to other clubs. Did all those clubs pinch "our" targets or were we never really interested in them anyway.

City look to sign the best top class players or the best up and coming potentially top class players. Ones we have always been linked with.

Our top target is apparently Sancho, a player City have no interest in signing (or resigning in this case) .

Our top target for CB is Pau Torres, a player City scouted before we us. They then chose to sign Dias.

They might have an interest in Kane or Haaland to replace Aguero. But then they are two of the top strikers in the world, every top club is interested in signing them if possible.

We do have a DOF in John Murtaugh…. the issue is does he actually have any power to do anything? Or is he like a few others just window dressing while the same people do the same jobs in the background?!

motz we have a director of football. You were told this last week and now again today.
City trying to rub our noses in it? That's nonsense? They are a mild better team and a better run club i think they don't need to rub our noses in anything. Garbage post that.

@MOTZ on the contrary, I believe we are the ones who seem to be after their targets rather than the other way around.

I mean Sanchez and Fred (I remember, after his very good performance against city for his previous club. he was linked heavily with city but we swooped in and signed him 🤦. allegedly) are just 2 examples.

Plus, as the fellas here said, stop believing everything u read on the "blogs" n "news sites"!
