Rumours are that Ole blocked a late Everton move for VDB.
I'm really struggling to understand the whole situation around VDB if I'm honest. He can't get minutes on the pitch ahead of a really poor Fred and an aging Matic. What has Ole got planned for the lad?

Hopefully we'll either get a DM last minute today, or in January, and Ole is holding on to Donny to play alongside them.

Of course this is Utd, so it's just as likely someone thinks he has injury potential and could be a long term replacement for Jones in keeping the physios' skills sharp.

There was always a argument that Pogba needs a DM to get the best out of him and now VDB also needs one?

Eric79, the only formation Ole would probably change is to play 3 in the middle to protect Ronaldo and Pogba if they start together.

{Ed077's Note - Pogba is never going to work as a CM for us IMO, even if we got a DM.

Ed077, I have to agree. He simply lacks the desire and discipline to play that position.

{Ed077's Note - I am not sure whether it's is desire or whatever but I don't think Pogba will ever work in a 2 man midfield for us on a consistent basis.

Pogba will soon get a new long term deal, then pushed back deepening midfield when Rashford returns. Quite possibly alongside Fred.
