Morning. A change of pace from the Mangers Position. We have some exciting young talent in our youth set up and I think there are a few players who should move on, need to move on and although I would love Cavani to stay another year (wish we had him 10 year ago! ) probably deserve to move on. Forget about the argument of we won't win anything with a load of youngsters, which players would you replace and from the youth set up, who would you replace them with? FYI, I'm not a Glazer puppet trying to save them money!

For me I'd go the following:

Elanga for Martial
Laird for Dalot
McNeill for Cavani
Mengi for Jones
Hannibal for Lingard
Zidane Iqbal - Mata
Alvaro Fernadez for Williams

And to resolve the Pogba issue, Galbraith for Van De Beek and VDB for Pogba.

I think with the exception of McNeill, which is very unfair on him, all these players are actually better than their counterparts. And regarding Pogba, maybe VDB is not better but I think we'd get a more honest, energetic player, who by the way, can play a bit too!

A youthful freshness to the squad could be something to generate a bit on excitement and enthusiasm into this squad which is what we seem to be lacking now. Try to avoid the digs at the manager sapping this out of them if you do reply.

Would also, hopefully allow money to be spent on replacing Matic with maybe Rice for example, possibly selling Fred and replacing him and getting another CB in.

Appreciate it's a massive squad overhaul and will 100% never happen but it's certainly a squad I would feel a lot happier with.

Me too ports agree with all that. Been said on here many times.
Maybe a proper manager who values respects and adheres to the traditions and ethos of the club will reinstate those ideals when he gets here.

I'll add Garner in that list for Matic.
Youth players are not getting a chance under Ole.

With the players that you have referenced Ports I don't think there is much argument, in fact it could be argued that this is how we should be filling out our squad rather than being very top heavy.
It would allow these players to be the next in line should a first teamer go down and would give a clear pathway to the first team for future players in the U21's and as such encourage more players to come to us at that level.
On Cavani, love him and would happily have him around for the next year.

Good post, nice refreshing twist on current situation. Ole hasn't given youth a chance - Elanga is definately one I feels sorry for, Hannibal too as he looks to be able to play a level above his current one.

But what about Pellestri and Diallo? Even they seem a long way from the first team squad (Diallo to Feynoord on loan possibly when fit ) they might cost us best part of 50 mill with no real plan in sight.

This will never happen while Ole is in charge, his main goal is self preservation now so while I agree with all you've said we have a manager who won't risk this, which I suppose is understandable because its easier to take risks when you're successful and winning but I don't think Ole will get to that point with us. when players like Sancho and Van de beek are overlooked for out of form players it leaves little hope for the rest.

Have to agree Ports, because ones they are replacing are not very good anyway so can’t be no worse! Only change I would add is get rid of DVB too, I’m not sure how anyone can keep saying he can add anything, he seems to keep getting better and better without playing.

I would get rid of AWB too

I would try bring in decent commanding CB and a decent midfield player and of course you would need someone to manage this team.

I think we will give laird a chance next season, always been one that if he can stay fit (which he has struggled with) would go on to do some very good things.
