Not really a rumour at all but can i just say in all the chaos of the summer the hatred towards the Glaziers has definitely died down. Is this because although we are still heavily invested in debt it does actually appear that they are in it to be successful as success brings money for them

I am just one of the only people that actually think they have done a decent job as owners??

its kinda surprising to me that united are looking for this midfield replacement and everyone is talking about sneijder and nasri who dont get me wrong both are great players but i would like to see yoann gourcuff from lyon because i think he is a great player and could well be worth a shot and i think he would definitely cost less than sneijder in transfer fee and wages. Just a thought i had

Just returned back and see speculation has been amass with WS apparently joining, havent really had chance to read much about the transfer can anyone fill me in? Are we def getting him or is it just another name that were being linked to? Oh and nasri .. . . is he coming? TORQS {Ed007's Note - There are that many stories going around TORQS it is hard to know what is happening, the deal was supposedly done with wages ranging from 200k a week to 250k a week, as usual AF swerved giving a straight answer over anything, then the deal was off, next Nike were helping fund the deal and David Gill clocked up more air miles than a NASA rocket and was in 3 different places at once, WS was due in Manchester for a medical yesterday (but wasn't) and today he waved goodbye to the Inter fans, or maybe he didn't, and that is about it, whether a deal is happening is any ones guess right now mate, welcome back anyway TORQS}

sneijder to sign, but probably near end of august.

Cesc Fibreglass to leave Arsenal.

Nasri to stay at arsenal and sign a new contract.

City to buy lavezzi to replace Carlos Tenheads.

Chelsea to get Modric.

Liverpool to finish outside the top four and me to make 1000 pounds at 10/1 on that.

And Jesus to return in the second coming.

And finally Edin Dzeko to score more that 2 all season,
Okay the last one was a bit far fetched.

-Diego (£5M-£9M) - Very Under-rated.
"The Moon"

even i used to rate him highly
but his attitude is even worse that "I'm too cool to celebrate my goals" Mario Balotelli

i just hope he can find a club where he is happy and show his true potential but i'm afraid that wont be Man united or any big european club for that matter

Ed what do you think {Ed007's Note - I said that earlier? You trying to get in my good books? I have went on about McCarthy for months, seen him playing since he was 15 years old, he will become a fantastic player}

Dont expect anymore signings this summer. we have already spent lavishly for our ever floundering transfer standards. no value in the market.. expect that one to come out of the bag (again) im not happy about paying 1.35 for a litre of petrol, but still i have to do it to move forward. you see where im going with this? no more signings, and i fear we will stand still. what signings we have made excite me, yet we're starting the season with our worst central midfield options in living memory.

Not a rumour just a thought..

On reading a few things here people seem to think Rooney can play behind 2 Strikers.

Aguero has made himself available and maybe worth a cheeky bid to pip city to the post and bring him in - either cash or cash plus dimi. to play rooney behind top 2 with aguero and chica up top?

unsure what others think but thought maybe worth a cheeky bid? dont all shoot me down at once

MEN reporter on Talksport just said that Sneijder was at an event in Italy today, they have a guy there and he was waving and saying goodbye to the Inter fans. Also some Bookies have now suspended betting on his Transfer to Utd. In addition when the MEN interviewed him and asked about a move to UTD he said no comment and just smiled. SAF's comments the usual smokescreen. They expect the Transfer is now done and will be un-veiled next week. Just allowing Inter time to get a replacement. Nice

Just heard from a guy who works there, that Sneijders representatives were at Manchester airport. I don't believe this myself, but just thought I'd say. Hope I'm wrong, because I really want us to sign him, but for some reason just don't feel it will happen. And mike the moston red...United have never attracted world class player? Are you joking? I mean seriously? I was going to list some, but there's been so many I'm bound to forget someone, and that would be wrong

Last night's keepers debate got me thinking, Who is your Favourite Keeper of all time? ED? Regulars? anyone?

Mine is Khan, Closely followed by Lev Yashin. Obviously Yashin is better though.

The Moon. {Ed007's Note - We've continued that Moon?? I just answered and agreed with GAGUS 1. Packie Bonner 2. Schmeichel 3. Dino Zoff (I was only 8 at the time of the 1982 World Cup, but he is the first BIG name GK I remember watching, winning the WC at the age of 132 is some achievement). On a lighter note I can't remember what site I was editing but someone the other day described a GK as such "The only GK with no arms, when he came for a cross it was as if he was waving at his mum". I thought that was hilarious!}

I want to know who everyone's top three signings this summer would be? And don't say Messi, Ronaldo, Iniesta etc. Say possible names like Nasri, Sneijder, Mata.

Mine would be:

1. Modric (unlikely)

2. Nasri (would fit in well)

3. Mata (good, young player)

I think we shud have or shud sign Sneijder,
There are several reasons why he fits the big, ...Money is not an issue.

-Most of our experienced players are retired and left, G.Neville, P.Scholes, O.Hargreaves, E.V.D.Sar. Soon giggs will follow them.That is 5 top class players
We need someone experienced in our dressing room, well talent is the main thing but when u play barca and madrid or any top club it is experience what counts.
-Sneijder can take free kicks well, Nani is fine but not a class.
-He can teach our youth before he goes somewhere or retires.

Well, this is just my opinion., ,

I dont understand the people who keep saying we need to replace hargreaves, why do we need to replace him? Do our medics have nothing to do now?

I loved him as a player and I thought he was fantastic for us in his first season, he could have been a legend at united but I dont see him as a player who needs a replacement.

Fletcher is a player of the same mould, some may say hargreaves was better, some may not but we have fletcher and he will be fit by the start of the season.

Get well soon fletch and sorry to hargreaves.

Not a rumour just an observation, we have lost Scholes, Hargreaves & Giggs may even quit this summer after all the revalations about his private life. It now comes to light that Fletcher is still not fit & will miss the start of the season with his mystery virus, thats 5 months now & they still dont know when he will be ready, added to this we have Valencia with a fresh ankle injury & things in midfield dont look so rosy. United should just pay the extra 2-3 million for Nasri/Sniejder & get them ready for the coming season, instead of dragging their feet till the last days of the transfer window & getting pipped to signings by desperate city/chelsea as usual.We need to hit the ground running this season because to be honest last season we were fortunate that city/chelsea/arsenal all collapsed near the end allowing us to nip in & steal a glorious 19th. Just my two cents on this......the sneijder rumours really kicked into overdrive after modric was first denied his move out if spurs, with spurs saying he wasn't for sale. I can't help but think that now modric has officially put in a transfer request utd will go in for him and just hope that we offer him more than Chelsea do I would live to see him in a Utd shirt and fergie is clearly a but fan Hopefully we can persuade him to leave London.......just my thoughts

I don't think we should speculate on Fletchers illness. Not fair on the guy, the United medical team know much better than we do, and i'm sure they're doing everything to get him right. We should wish him well and hope he makes a speedy recovery.

DB-Red {Ed007's Note - As I said last night/this morning DB, (cut and paste lol)

{Ed007's Note - Nobody outside the club knows for sure Blair. Let's all just hope and pray that he recovers his own health first and foremost, then we and hopefully Darren can concentrate on the footballing side of things. I don't think it is the type of thing we should be speculating on as that is how nasty rumours get started, I am sure all of us agree on that. It is a very delicate subject so I hope I don't sound abrupt by not entering into "gossip" over it. Thanks}

And before anyone jumps down Blairs throat, he was only enquiring about Darren Fletcher through concern, along with countless others. Thanks again guys}

Sorry to bleat on but if you compare madrids and barcas domestic record to celtic and rangers you will see there is not great deal of difference. madrid won 5 champions league on the bounce in 50's when football cannot be compared to today barca won it for the first time in 94 after all british winners had done so. look at british winners to spanish erm 2 compared too 7 may be...""
dear sir
ngiak guesses your apology is to yourself
the more you post the less you seem to make any sense
first you say that past winners had it easy
now you say that its no big deal that all and that barca won theirs after 94
then it gets worse..
thanks again for the confusion... sorry post...
ngiak's point in this maelstorm of irrationality
whoever won it whenever,
deserved it, and will go down in history as having done the deed.
no ifs, or buts.

Chronic fatigue syndrome is a virus that can last for years..... Not that Fletch has that but there are some nasty little buggers out there

Pardoe"""
dear mr pardoe
CFS is not a virus. its a condition where someone has not had proper "rest" for a long time. its a physical affliction not a pathologic one.
by the way,
remember the time when ngiak was downright ridiculed when he suggested that what fletcher was suffering was very unusual and a "flu" virus does not do this?
well well well
where are all the great doctors on this site, now?
there a very few viral afflictions that can give such chronic afflictions
one of them is hepatitis, and as someone noted, meningitis
there are others, but very very rare and much more dangerous.
but it would have been horribly dangerous if he had meningitis and trained and played a few games at the end of the season.
gan
ps... again, its all speculation, but like most instances on this site, the shooting comes before the thinking...

Nasri and Schneider wont be coming to united. Mata has already made his choice and hes going to Liverpool. The team Dalglish is building will be a real threat next season and not being involved in Europe can only help them.

Expect the next few seasons to be barren guys, these things go in cycles and its uniteds turn now.......dont build your hopes up too high

Just trying to offer the neutral and more realistic viewpoint as United cannot expect everyone to roll over next season..... lets face it they stole the premiership last season anyway

I predict Chelsea will win the league, Liverpool the FA cup and finish second, Man City will win nothing but will finish 3rd.......and unfortunately I honestly believe that United will be lucky to qualify for Europe while Fergie tries to rebuild his team without the likes of Scholes and Giggs etc {Ed002's Note - Mata will not be moving to Liverpool.}

Lfc, i'm not sure how a few good signings will make reina a better keeper and i'm not sure you could really class your recent signing as being good enough, all good players but aren't the world class players you need, think of it like this if they were great players then why did none of the teams who finished above you last year challenge you for them? Answer because they all already have better players in their squad. I really hope you do challenge next year as i always prefer beating you guys to the title than anyone else, the other year when you looked like winning it then we beat you to it in the last couple of months was my favourite season of the last few years. Don't know if this will get printed because its not so much a rumour as cold hard facts. United only 1 of 3 football teams in the Forbes list of World's most valuable clubs. 1 United, 5 Real Madrid, 7 Arsenal. This obviously doesn't include activities of owners, who in the case of Americans want to drain the big clubs - or Arabs, who want to over-inflate the minnows. This purely reflects the money making ability of the clubs involved, which FIFA are currently endevouring to ensure is reflected on the pitch in years to come.
Also, it would appear to be Arsenal in pole position to sign Mata with their odds at 8/11 at time of writing, with United massive outsiders at 20/1.

who's the best spanish keeper? Being unbiased i'd put the spanish keepers in this order
1. Diego Lopez 2. Pepe Reina 3. Iker Casillas 4. David De Gea 5. Victor Valdes 6. Sergio Asenjo
I know Lopez isn't the most fashionable but the saves he makes, his comand of his area, his distrabution and his consistancy plus the fact that he plays with a very poor defence infront of him mean for me he shades it, but not by much, it's just Reina's distrabution(he always hits it long with only about a 10-15% sucess rate of it creating something.) and coming for crosses that lets him down in my book. Where as Casillas has been poor by his high standard the last couple of years. As a united fan i don't like to say it but liverpool do have a couple of good players its just the other 8/9 that let them down.
