Can anyone please confirm whether or not we have made any new signings yet, I'm starting to get a little bit worried and anxious again, Louis Van Gall said he wanted to get all his transfer activities out the way as soon as he can this year, the season finished a few weeks ago now and still we haven't signed anyone, and he goes on a flaming holiday, it's got David Moyes written all over it again and I'm starting to get sick of this now, it's a recurring theme each and every transfer window bar last year, why can the other teams always get their man and we're left with second rate players on deadline day, clearly the hierarchy don't have the faith in LVG anymore and don't trust him to spend big again, only Mata and Herrera have been good this year bar DDG, and then what are we going to do if he decides to leave on deadline day, Alves is too old to start and our old reserve one just isn't good enough (can't remember his name), we can kiss goodbye to champions league next year, defo won't make top 4 with this ageing squad, even RVP has come out today and said he wants to leave. there are players out there who we can get for free, take Danny Ings for example if RVP really does want to leave, I'm just hoping and praying that he is just using us for a new deal. I don't want another debacle like last year but I feel it's only going to happen all over again then LVG will get sacked like moyes and then we are back to square one, thoughts.

Duggo, You remind me of Bill Paxton's character in Aliens. Chill out, man!.

And as far as saying we haven't signed anyone, what about Depay??

If you really think VG has gone on holiday and put everything on hold, you are deluded. The man has a plan and its being implemented. Its not quite as easy as going into a sweet shop and pick n mixing all the goodies you want. Its a little more complicated than, that.

Grab a beer, enjoy the sun we are finally getting, and wait for the window to open.

I am really getting fed up with the dave to madrid thing now. If they want him so much we must insist on bale as part of the deal otherwise we are getting tummy tickled by them again. We have to stand up to them and show we are as big as them. I think we need to make a statement. I find it strange ddg is looking to join real considering he himself said he was close to tears leaving atletico his boyhood club. The minute he makes a mistake the real fans will turn on him. I think dave has become a better keeper under Hoek who seems to be one hell of a goalkeeping coach. To summarise if ddg joins madrid and we get bale and pay 50 to 60 million it will be a decent deal because bale would be great again in epl. Valdes is capable but personally i would take cech as i think he could have a similar effect as vds.

Cech, alves, otamendi, vidal.bale, depay and lacazette would be super wondow.

Departing : ddg (unfortunately),evans, hernandez, nani, clevs, rafael(i like and be gutted to lose), Perhaps di maria because i don't think english football suits him. I think Fellaini should still be moved on because he is an accident waiting to happen with his elbows and in europe refs will send him off. I also think when he plays the team has to play to his strengths and it slows things down and with players like depay and bale the emphasis would be on speed.

I don't know where people get this De Gea is a boyhood Athletico fan rubbish from.

He's a fan, he was raised in a household which is half Real and half Athletico like most households in Madrid.

During his Athletico days he had multiple stand offs with the club and they tried to sell him several times to clubs such as Wigan.

I wrote an Article for the Football News and Views page entitled "Episode 2 - Moon Views. la despedida De Gea" In which I go on to say the following (It might give you a clearer idea with what is happening with De Gea);

"Firstly, I think De Gea is going to leave, everyone expected De Gea to be at United for 4 or 5 years before going on to Madrid or Barcelona, it was always going to happen and it's exactly what has happened. The stumbling block with Real Madrid is that he's a boyhood Athletico fan, however, during his time there he at times was made to train alone and was nearly sold in several occasions to the likes of QPR, Wigan Althetic & Numancia. We also need to remember that De Gea is a professional goalkeeper who will always want what is best for his career, playing for Real Madrid at this current moment is a step up from playing for Manchester United. I don't think many were expecting to fall in love with the Spaniard which is most likely what is causing the resistance and realization that Big Dave will be waving goodbye to Manchester in a couple of months time."

Spot on , says it all really

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 23:31:01
With only a year left on his contract, if DDG wants to move then we really don't have much of bargaining chip. We cannot compel Madrid to sell players we might want, and even if they are willing to negotiate a swap, then neither they nor us can compel a particular player to be part of that deal. At a minimum transfers are trilateral arrangements. The only certain power we have is to say DDG is not for sale at this moment, but in doing so we risk losing him for nothing.

Whether or not we can stand up to RM, or can compete with them as equals in the market, DDG's move is not about the relative power of the clubs, so much as personal factors. In this matter DDG is more powerful than both Real and United.

So what have Real done that you should be getting fed up with? Pursued a player they want? It's not like United haven't done exactly the same thing.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 00:28:22
I said I was fed up with the dave to Madrid saga. I am it's dragging on and it would be better for all concerned if it got sorted. It would enable us to move on and get a replacement signed if that's what the manager intends to do. Personally I don't like real and much prefer barca.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 01:59:44
If that was all you said, fair enough, but a) the transfer window isn't open yet, and b) assuming he's leaving, the price has yet to be agreed; it's going to take time. Just be patient, and try and avoid the funny pages. They love to rile us up. If they do anything more than amuse you, best to avoid them and read an honest piece of fiction.

Afternoon, a player that seems to be overlooked when suggesting strikers in Lukaku. Now although potentially not my first choice, I think after his recent comments and having, it seems a good professional relationship with Everton, perhaps he is a striker we should consider. He has some great attributes such as pace, strength, good in the air and most importantly, he can score. 8 in 9 in Europe this season and although only 10 in the league, Everton struggled all this season. I think he can adapt to our style as well as he can hold the ball up and run in behind. I was gutted when Chelsea signed him and surprised they didn't develop and use him better but at 22, he has time on his side and I think he'd also be more open to squad rotation then a Benzema or Cavani, although they'd be my preference.

No way for me, far too inconsistent and not technically good enough for a possession based game imo.

In saying that if we signed Benteke, Lakuku and stuck Fellaini in the hole it would be funny to watch!

03 Jun 2015 17:38:27
He has a poor first touch, which is worrying for someone aiming to be a top calibre player. Also I'm sure Ed002 implied there was an issue at Chelsea so he was forced to leave and there have been rumours of poor attitude at Everton too, certainly worth consideration before any attempt to sign. He cost them a hell of a lot too and would imagine they'd want a big profit on that.

He is still young and has some good attributes but I'd steer clear for the above reasoning.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 18:27:23
Oh, fair comments gentleman. I think he has something to offer but if his attitude is how you have portrayed it then he's not worth a punt. I just think with all the calls for Benteke, there isn't much in it between him and Lukaku. So can I assume Fellani off Benteke and Lukaku is completely off the cards for everyone? I can sense Beast coming round to it!

I rate Lukaku and would love to bring him in if RVP is leaving but he is fairly inconsistent. That being said he is sti very young, physically a beast, and is typically good for 20 goals a season. Although given how fickle our fans can be I would worry about people turning on him pretty quickly if he doesn't produce right away.

If we Do buy a striker, we should not buy a superstar, rather a young one who can take over from rooney. Because-
1) rooney will always start
2) if we play 2 strikers, get ready for more of this season's game play.

So we should promote wilson and buy someone like mitrovic

Agree3 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 18:54:49
Seeing as we're struggling to get service into the striker would it make sense to get rid of Rooney in favour of Higuain? He doesn't offer as much unless the ball is on a plate for him.

To everyone who goes on and on about how as soon as you turn the wrong end of 26 your 'too old' and over the hill get a load of this. Dani Alves has covered more ground this season than any other Barcelona player except Neymar, Jordi Alba and Javier Mascherano.

Dani Alves has completed more passes than any other player in this year’s Champions League except for Messi, Toni Kroos, Isco and Xabi Alonso. Now let's keep in mind here that Alves is a full back so for him to have completed that many passes he would need to be all over the pitch.

He is still the best full back in the world and he is not slowing down at all. He still has pace, desire and ability but who cares about what he can offer as he is now 32 years old and over the hill. I cannot say it anymore age is just a NUMBER. If your still playing at 32 the same way you played at 24 what's the difference? A potential sell on value? Someone posted yesterday that "23 years old is quite old in football terms". I seriously cannot even deal with those type of half-witted remarks.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

03 Jun 2015 08:07:35
But alves may just be using us to get a better deal at barca. I think it was blanc who recently said that alves doesn't even want to leave.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 08:11:03
Jmb ,

I agree with you about Alves , he's been excellent for Barca this season and still looks as good as ever. My only problem with signing him is that it would seem his first choice is to stay with Barxa if they give him what he wants meaning if he came to us we would be 2nd choice.
In those circumstances would he have the hunger to go to a new league , new culture etc and still perform at the same level . You would hope he would as he seems like a good pro but that would be a bit of a doubt for me

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 08:15:02
You ain't half dramatic at times, who has said that over 26 is old?

Alves at 32 is not past it but its hardly building for the future is it. We'd also be buying a player who's played his whole career in less physically demanding league. No doubt there is a risk involved.

You said down the page that '23 is very, very young' well in footballing terms that's not really true either is it. Not sure if I'd go as far as half-witted tho.

I don't think people are ageist but some posters see building for the future as the way ahead whilst others are happy to plug holes with flashy names coming towards the end of their career.

Personally I see no problem in doing a bit of both but I understand why some see a 32 yr old, on massive wages, who's known for being poor defensively and has never played in the epl - as a risky option.

Agree6 Disagree14

03 Jun 2015 08:18:25
You're right JMB Alves was and still is a fantastic RB. I think he still has 2 years at the top.
I think lvg has cooled interest in Clyne. For me Clyne will be the better option for the future, but I wouldn't say no to Alves.

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Jun 2015 08:31:45
I would take Alves, no doubt about it but my point was merely pointing out that just because a player is older doesn't mean he isn't able to be exactly what we need.

HB - you say building for the future is what we should be doing? Yes that's all well and good but you can't just have a team of kids with no experience. How many younger defenders have we seen flounder over the past few seasons?

As for my comment about folk claiming that players over 26 are 'too old' I stand by that. I have seen posts regarding Vidal, Cavani, Naingogglan etc being branded as too old and we should look at younger targets. What happens when these younger targets come up against proper men who have been around the block many times like Terry, Ivanovic, Yaya, Koscielny etc? 9/10 they choke.

I think Depay will be a good signing but certain indivduals on here were saying they preferred him to Bale and he was at the same level because he is 21 and Bale 25. For real? Folk want us to sign a bunch of FM wonderkids and then a few years down the line they will complain when they don't come good. One last thing to say 23 years old is 'not young' is most definitely half witted.

Agree8 Disagree5

03 Jun 2015 09:39:47
HB
hits the nail on the head .
add in change in culture, langue barrier.
alves is a top player but at 32 will only go backwards .
he has never played in the epl, has never played under lvg (which seems to be an issue for sum)
is currently playing in a fantastic barcelona side behind MESSI which means 9 times out of 10 the other team have 2 players on messi leaving alves with little to do defensively and the rw to himself.

alves has said he will stay at barcelona if the money is right.
blanc has said he will stay at barcelona and was using psg as a negotiating tool.

good player but there is more to take into account than just that

Agree4 Disagree4

03 Jun 2015 10:06:20
32 is getting past it for a footbAll player, very few top clubs keep players and pay them millions when they Pass that age, scholes and giggs for us,I was reading about this lately, wenger knows when to move on a player,he can spot when the ice is melting,he sold henry, petit, viera, overmars, when they were 29 and none of them were not as good after they left.

Agree6 Disagree5

03 Jun 2015 10:23:54
Dani Alves is the kind of a signing that comes at a very little risk.
We have a lot of areas that need strengthening this summer and signing of Alves would mean that we won't spend much on the RB position, and still cover one area without spending much. Him on a year contract would be massive and I think he is one of the best RBs we could sign.

Agree4 Disagree2

03 Jun 2015 10:43:31
I don't see how people think Alves comes with little risk. HB and Jred are completely right in pointing out the difficulties he would have in adapting to England and the EPL at that age. I can't think of many instances in which a 32 year old who has played the vast majority of his career in Spain was able to make a smooth transition to this league.

Plus the reason he hasn't signed with Barca is that he wants to maintain his £120,000 weekly wage and wants more than a one year extension. That's a huge amount of money for a player moving toward the end of his career. The reason that people go on about age is that the EPL is physically demanding, especially in positions like RB. Not just in terms of stamina, but in the actual one-on-one physicality that just doesn't happen in leagues like Spain and Italy. Look at Evra, struggling to cope here for the last few seasons, but moving to a less demanding league has made him look top class again. Alves would have all the difficulties Evra had in his last two seasons, plus the added problems of adapting to the league and the culture.

Agree4 Disagree7

03 Jun 2015 11:01:12
Initially I was against this, but now I'm for it. Even if he is another Maicon then the USA will take him off our hands in the Winter, it's a no brainer as we are crying out for a bit of experience at the back and I don't fancy the alternatives being talked about.

Considering how much we keep the ball he will likely be a very good asset.

Agree5 Disagree3

03 Jun 2015 11:06:55
Even if Alves' level of performance drops by 50% that is still a higher level than Valencia. Clyne would be very expensive and his own performance tailed off after xmas. Getting Alves for free even for 2 years allows us to spend money short term else where and maybe even help attract other players as he is still a massive name in world football.

Agree6 Disagree3

03 Jun 2015 12:17:11

Seriously Jred? People want the likes of DeGea to show some loyalty as he struggled hugely at first, but he had unbelievable support and faith from the fans home and away who pay lots of money to do so, that is why they want loyalty. Players are paid huge sums of money to play a game, if they aren't good enough, should we keep them even if there are much better players around? The players should show more loyalty to the fans, if not the club, in my eyes. If a player isn't good enough, it isn't about loyalty, they just aren't good enough to get us to where we need to be. They are employees of a club and as in all walks of life, if you aren't up to it, you are out.

jred,as far as I am concerned, if a player is shown the sort of support and faith that DeGea was by the fans, especially at the beginning when he was shocking at times, he should repay that with a bit of loyalty towards the fans. For me it isn't to do with the club, if it wasn't for us there would be no club.

The player is an employee to the club, the club are just an employer to the player. While playing, all players get loyalty and support from the supporters, even when they do stupid things at times. But, if the season ends and the employer deems an employee not good enough to move us forward, that is there choice. We all want success and have to accept that these things will happen, even the players.

ddg was dropped and many fans wanted him dropped from the first 11.
he came to the club as a young player and took time to adapt to a new country , team and league.

for the last 2 years he has been our stand out player , why does he owe the fans anything .
if he hadnt put the hard work in and become a worldclass player many of the people shouting "he should so loyalty to the fans " would be shouting for him to be sold .

if ddg lost his form next season most people would want him sold where is the loyalty in that .
look how many of our current players get stick on here.

you want a spanish player to turn down the chance to play for madrid.
to move back and live in spain with his family and girlfriend .
continue to live in england and play for a team that at the moment is nit challenging for titles.
because some fans supported him, is that not what fans do .
i hope he stops , but you couldn't blame him if he left and i don't think he owes the fans that much

Jred

It is a polarised subject as you could accuse him of screwing us in the corner by refusing to sign a new deal which still will allow him to make the move but would grant us negotiating room on the price especially how Madrid tends to put you to the knife when they are selling someone.

No one can ever force a player to stay and play at a club he does not want to but given how the club has treated him, he is not doing himself any favours by this stalemate.

No Ed007, all players should be shown loyalty by fans and all players should show loyalty to fans. But, at the end of the day, if they aren't at the level we need, what happens? We keep them and end up a mid table side? Of course not. We as fans pay huge sums and support the players through everything, they should be the ones showing loyalty as, were it not for fans, where would they be? Job seekers allowance for most of the brain dead lot, I'd guess.

They are employees, if the employer deems they aren't good enough, then as anywhere else in the world, they are replaced, why should that be any different because they are a footballer? While here and playing, they should be supported totally if they are giving 100%. No one can say United fans don't support the side, the evidence over the past few seasons has proven that we support through the good and bad. Our away support, in particular, is immense.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Why should players show fans loyalty, remember the abuse Darron Gibson got on social media? Where's this wonderful loyalty you speak of for your club captain who the last THREE managers and TWO owners have all deemed him good enough?
I'm pretty certain that most players who leave Utd don't end up on Jobseekers, so without Utd's fans loyalty Patrice Evra is in the CL final with Juve along with Carlos Tevez. Ronaldo is doing OK for himself and I'm sure Tom Cleverley and Daanny Welbeck aren't needing foodbanks.
And I think you'll find with most teams in the EPL wage bill is paid by Sly's TV money and sponsorship deals, not the fans}

I didn't mean to sound disrespectful by calling them deadwood, just none of them bar maybe blackett if he goes out and learns a lot playing in the top flight regularly will ever be good enough to wear the famous red shirt again.fair enough Evans has played a role in us winning some titles but he has shown over the last 2 seasons he is no more than a squad player at best. They may be homegrown players but i think that's the only thing going for them. For instance we all know we need a top quality cb where does that leave Evans? Smalling,Jones, mcnair, rojo and a new cb do we leave Evans in the reserves or move him on? Nani, what has he done to warrant another chance? Valencia is a squad player at best he's only been playing this year because lvg thought he was the best of a bad bunch for that role and he's hardly set the world on fire has he? Cleverly we don't even need to go into that one if only we could turn him 90-180 degrees then he might play a forward pass for once. In my opinion replacing cleverly,Evans, nani and valencia will probs bring in around 25 million which can go toward signing upgrades. We already have depay in place of nani, hopefully Clyne or coleman instead of valencia, I'm hoping for Schneiderlin instead of cleverly, otamendi or garay instead of Evans.would you not rather do this rather than keep what we got? We need to start showing a bit of ambition over sentiment as sentiment doesn't win you games or titles!!

Jred, the keyboard warriors like those on here or that other useless social media cesspit may have been calling for him to be dropped, but anyone I know or heard around OT and the pubs on match day were 100% behind him. He was brought out of the side to help him as the media etc were on the attack as always. Yes he has worked hard, but how much work, effort and support not to mention money, has this club put into him as a player?

Yes, shock horror, I want a Spanish player to turn down Real, they are a disgrace when it comes to transfers etc. He knew he was moving abroad when he signed, he is only 24 and has years later in his career or life to live wherever he likes, how hard is it to spend a few more years here and enable us to recoup a decent amount of the money we have invested in him? The fact Real will get him on the cheap is another thing that is p*ssing fans off. Personally, I'd tell Real £40m or do one and let him play out his contract, what is £20m to United? It would show Real they can't do as they please and might make other clubs stand up to them more. We and other clubs have been underpaid or bullied by them far too much. They paid more for Bale than they did Ronaldo, and Bale is nowhere close to the player Ronaldo was and still is. We need Levy here.

Ed you took it the wrong way pal. If there were no football fans, there would be no sky money and no football, I wasn't talking about players leaving united being on the dole, i meant players in general if there was no football.

I have already talked about keyboard warriors in a past reply and that also replies to the Darren Gibson thing too, for me. They don't represent United fans as a whole and other clubs/players will unfortunately experience the same brainless half wits.

Also, yes the club and managers, although SAF wasnt such a huge fan towards the end, may be ok with the way Rooney or other players have used various ways to get big pay rises, but the fans aren't the business, they have an emotional attachment to the club, some fans feel he and others screwed the club and it was like a member of the family be screwed to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - See, I knew you'd get it, fans have an emotional tie to the clubs, not many players these days have. They're employees of the business, assets as such and there job is under threat if the club changes manager, or the club is in financial difficulties and need money or failure on the park.
Do you think signing Valdes showed loyalty to De Gea? If it was me I'd have been asking myself if Valdes would sign anywhere to be a No.2, are the club looking to cash in on me, will they play hardball during contract negotiations knowing they have a replacement already at the club - maybe I'm just paranoid though.
Here's a question for you, if Gareth Bale came out and said that he was desperate to sign for Utd this summer would you be on here chastising him for not showing loyalty to Madrid, surely by your own standards he owes the Madrid fans?}

03 Jun 2015 14:01:27
Because I've read some of the rubbish people spout online. It's not about disagreeing, it's about the way they go about it, they get on the tablet/laptop or whatever, read what some people have said and mob mentality takes over and it all spirals from there. As a United fan they are an embarrassment, but also as a human being, thought we'd evolved from the Neanderthal stage.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - {Ed007's Note - Some people might think you spout rubbish online. Not me btw, I'm only chewing the fat with you but others might. Mostly it's all just people's opinions, trolling is a totally different thing. Just because they are an embarrassment to you doesn't mean they aren't allowed an opinion and they're still Utd fans. You can't say that every fan that gave De Gea a hard time is a keyboard warrior then dig out the old Rooney asked for a wage rise excuse for people doing it to him, that's double standards, Brendan.}

Jred, there were and are KW's after Rooney's head, but there were also many normal, rational, match going folk who were also very unhappy with his actions, especially the 2nd time. He was made captain because LVG wants an English captain and we are very short on quality English players who aren't always injured. He has been here 10 years as we caved to his stupid wage demands, if not he would be playing in blue right now, so you can remove that halo from your life size, cardboard Rooney replica my friend.

03 Jun 2015 15:34:23
What Brendan does not understand is, if half of our players browse fan forums, they would want to terminate their contracts right away ;). All they owe is 100% commitment on the field, as far as changing clubs is concerned, they are employees who move on to better things if they get a better pay, location closer to their native place etc. I don't see a challenge with that. Most of us swap jobs left, right and centre. I don't see a problem with what DDG is doing. He is atleast not saying that "he feels like a slave here". Loyalty from fans is as it is the most fickle subject you would ever discuss about.

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 16:30:41
Brendan, what actions are you on about pal? A private conversation with Fergie, that the old man decided to go public about, in the process leaving our new manager with a ticking time-bomb? It's all about view points, I think Wayne got a pay rise based on both on field and off field factors and of course being the best player in the club post Ronnie's departure. What is double standards is you waiting for Ronnie to come back when he did not really part on "excellent terms". He has been using us to get a pay raise at Madrid every year, that is ok? The fact is Rooney still plays in our colors unlike Ronaldo and deserves respect that a lot like you don't give him. Again it's opinions, so I don't have a problem with that. But loyalty from fans is as fickle as they get.

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 16:37:10
Deeps, I agree with the employee thing as I have said above. However, being a footballer is much different to any old job, or at least it should be. If I thought that I had millions of people, including kids etc, who saw me as one of their heroes for doing what I do, had supported me in tough times and helped to give me a very nice life, I, personally, would want to repay them if I could. I'd sign a contract and stay for a couple more seasons, whilst ensuring the company got the money needed to properly replace me and compensate them. Maybe I'm just a fantastic human being though, unlike most ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 16:51:31
Ed, a lot of the Madrid fans have treated him like sh*t, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did just tell them to do one. But, that is pretty much the opposite of how DeGea has found his time at United. Plus, Real would get a substantial amount for him and rightly so. If he had been treated as DeGea has, in his 2 years at Madrid, then yes he should definitely show some loyalty, of course.

Plus, it's how you go about spouting your opinions and the actual reasons you have for those opinions. A few poor performances from a young lad wouldn't trigger a normally functioning human being, to jump online and start slating someone and calling for his head. You then get the people who jump on the bandwagon and it escalates into something ridiculous. But, then you have a player on very good money, who comes out and plays the club and fans for fools on two separate occasions. I don't agree with trolling etc, but that is a much bigger trigger for people's unhappiness. But again it should be done in the correct manner.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And yet Rooney has stuck by Utd while being treated like sh*t by a lot of Utd fans. I guess Utd must mean more to him than it does to De Gea, it's just a pity a lot of fans don't return that kind of loyalty.
What you're basically saying is that players YOU like should be grateful to play for Man Utd and show loyalty to the fans - the same fans who would turn on him after one bad game - and players you don't like should be shown no loyalty in return, especially if they have the cheek to ask for a pay rise.}

i don't put a halo on any footballer .

i just think its comical that someone like yourself is spouting loyalty and key board warrior rubbish.

players come and go ddg owes the club nothing and the club owe him nothing.

infact if anyone has a gripe it should maybe be A madrid who brought a young kid through the ranks only to see him leave the first chance he got.

ddg if he leaves will soon be replaced with another keeper and the fans and the club will be fine .
infact poor united will prob get 20 million .

i would also guarantee you wouldn't be quite so moralistic if you played for city or liverpool , infact any team other than united

Deeps, I'm not waiting on Ronaldo coming back, if he did then we would be signing the 2nd best player in the world, so it would be hard to argue against, from a footballing viewpoint. I was truly p*ssed off when he left and how it happened and that hasn't changed. As a person in my eyes, he is probably on level with Rooney. He has been playing Real to get pay rises, that is their problem, and if it was us yeah I'd be pissed off with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 18:39:44
There's a big difference between being over-sentimental, and basic respect for a player who's tried his best in a red shirt. I don't like Rooney, but I'll never accuse him of a lack of effort in a Utd shirt. Evans is no world-beater, but he's no Sunday league footballer either. Hate all this, 'he's sh1t', or, 'he's deadwood', when talking about our own.

Got drawn back into a Rooney debate aaaaaaagh! Last one ever. So I will end on, he won't be good enough to command a first team place if we purchase a top striker i.e. Benzema, and a box to box type CM player. Not great for our captain eh.

Also, I said yesterday that I wasn't happy when I heard DeGea was likely going, but now I'd rather it was sorted, and if he leaves then we move on and get Cech hopefully, or a young keeper as back up to Valdes. Either way we will march on. Just a shame that players give less and less of a sh*t about clubs and supporters with every passing season.

And with that, he left the room.

Are united interested in any right footed right wingers all the wingers we have prefer the left side and mata is not a right winger. We have valencia but playing rb mainly now and nani if he's not sold on and there not the best. I know we are linked with bale who I think plays best on the left or central but is put on the right because of Ronaldo and James and it limits his effectiveness. I would like lucas from psg maybe but I can't think of anymore that are that good but right side has been weak this year needs fixing because everything good came down the left nothing from the right much and it's not just a rw we need a rb is important to but there are obvious people we are looking at for that position but rw is a major problem area as well as midfield we are fine if Carrick fit but we need someone else that can do what he does. So we need rb rw cm st and a cb which is quite a lot but I think there will be quite a few outgoings I think such as Evans rvp Di Maria and maybe mata tbh don't see where he fits in in the system lvg plays

Good point and one I made months ago regarding our gaping lack of a right sided midfielder/ winger. If Di maria stays then either him or Depay can play left or right as well as Mata and even young. If Di Maria leaves then I imagine we will see Bale, Ronaldo, muller talk/rumours.
