I thought Jones had a good game and there were signs that RB might be his position. He certainly crosses the ball better than Valencia. Mata looked a different class when he came on and whoever becomes the long-term manager needs to find a way of getting him into the starting line-up.

Lad's, 48 hours to look forward to? Getting more optimistic about Fabregas? I think his style of play is made for us if we can keep him injury free. After that we need a m/f enforcer, a left winger and a replacement for Rooney who clearly wants out! If the deal for Mata was really an option, I'd snap Chelsea's hand off.

Moyes performance on Friday was very assured and there was more than a touch of Fergie about the way he handled the press conference.

Referring to Rooney's ability to match the stature of Law and Charlton et al clearly suggests he wants him to stay. Also he gave a clear indication to the our tagets' teams that he's prepared for the long haul and he won't be panicked into paying too much for players just to secure their services quickly.

Like Fergie, every sentence seems to have been strategically thought through. I hope he also applies such cunning to his tactical approach but I'm really impressed by his start.

Good words by DM but let's see what happens with Rooney and whether he pulls his finger out of his ass, the spoilt s##t! Once, just about forgivable, twice, do one!

Presumably the same sort of players who left their clubs to sign for an ex-Aberdeen manager!

Just submitted a post saying the same thing about DM. Everthing he said seemed to be a measured approach to the achievement of a goal whether it was about getting a message to Rooney or letting other clubs know we're prepared to sit it out to get our targets.

Fergie may not be at the helm any longer but Moyes could easily have been his apprentice!
