Today is a day that we remember that there is more to life than football and rivalries and although we may idolise footballers, the true heroes are the people who have fought to defend us, sometimes with their lives. Thankyou to all of the servicemen past and present. Never forget.

1.) Sparky your so right mate, I have been carried away looking forward to today's game but your post puts all into perspective.
Shankly was brilliant and loved his quotes but his most famous one was wrong.
Life and death is a much much more important than football.

I want us to win today of course but in the grand scheme of things it ain't that important

2.) Sparky, I put a similar post on here this morning, but for some unknown reason it was put on the other posts page.

I hope that some of our more hysterical and emotional posters on here, remember this sentiment, and keep some sort of semblance of reality and humility in their posts, should the result go against us.

Lest we forget.

3.) Never a truer word been said. Also out thoughts have to be with the people in Philippines who also lost family and friends in the tragic happenings over the last 24 hours.

I'm a bit puzzled as to why Kagawa seems to have been overlooked recently. There where times during the game where we had Chelsea surrounded and were crying out for a killer pass something that Kagawa could've delivered. And instead we brought Giggs on.

Nevertheless I think we played well a goal would've topped it off but a draw is better than a loss. We managed to close down quickly a big improvement on last season with a top class winger as I feel Valencia and Welbeck were a bit disappointing at times and someone to deliver the killer touch we could win the league with ease.

Finally it was good to see Rooney showing commitment to the cause and not sulking especially against Chelsea so maybe he'll stay after all.
