German media reporting Schwinestiger is flying in for a medical.

Lets wait and see if this is true or just selling papers or pay per click advertising.

Cheers.

3 Year deal - 15 million fee - Bild are breaking the story.

I would rather take schweini since 30m for schneiderlin is clearly taking the piss

Agree5 Disagree9

10 Jul 2015 21:58:16
We are being priced out of schneiderlin at a ridiculous 30m, so I'll take schweini

10 Jul 2015 21:59:46
Would love it with Schneiderlin but just can't see it!!

10 Jul 2015 22:02:16
Was just going to post same thing. 3 year deal. Fabulous news. I do hope we sign Schneiderlin too as a younger proven Prem performer but in Schweinsteiger we have at last a genuine world class central midfielder again. I appreciate he is 30 but he's an absolute beast of a player and never seen him have a bad game.

10 Jul 2015 22:05:48
I think it leaves us in a strong position to sign Schniderlin too hopefully - Southampton want 30m and we have offered 20m, so next step this weekend is a compromise at 25m and then he and Schwini will be on the plane to USA on Monday - room for Otamendi on the flight too!

10 Jul 2015 22:06:45
I think if this is true then the domino's of the Schneiderlin deal may fall into place. Whether that is us withdrawing as LVG only wanted 1 or we push on knowing that we have Schweinsteiger in place.
Centre of the park may not be the pushover we have been previously. assuming he comes with the right attitude

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 22:06:47
10m euros per year surely that's not right

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 22:07:16
If this schweinsteiger rumour is true surely this would put us in a better negotiating position with Southampton re schneiderlin

10 Jul 2015 22:16:10
I agree dave. It shows that we don't need him if we have bastian and they will have less of a bargaining chip

Looking at Twitter the bold reports being backed up by some prominent journalists who are Munich fans saying thanks and goodbye to Bastian. No wonder are looked smug at Wimbledon today, must have happened late as LVG didn't hint at anything at Depays press conference. Maybe he didn't want to take anything away from Depays day knowing it was the biggest day in his career so far. Let's get Otamendi, Schneiderlin and Lacazette and its game on

Agree5 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 22:21:55
This would be excellent (if true)and we should then add Scheiderlin and that is the midfield sorted!

CB and Striker and we can push hard for the title, me thinks

Looks like a solid rumour on Schwini - wages 7.2m over 3 years - most of the transfer sites are running with this now so happy days. You heard it on this site first though so cheers to the Eds.

10 Jul 2015 22:36:58
He'll be 31 in a couple of weeks Halesini. Great experienced player but very expensive with his age and wages. No doubt a big signing on fee too. I think Scneiderlin is better for ye value wise, although a bigger transfer fee but probably half the wages.

Could'nt be happier if true.

Possibly more good news. AS (the newspaper in Spain) are leading with Real signing the Espanyol keeper Kiko Casilla.

They co own the player with Espanyol, so it means buying out Espanyol's rights. His transfer clause is 20m and so it should mean Real give 10m and he signs for them, but AS are indicating they will get him cheaper.

My take on this is that it could be mind games on the De Gea transfer negotiations, but its normally Marca in Spain that are the puppets for Madrid so let's hope Madrid may have decided to move on from De Gea. He seems happy enough shopping at the Trafford Centre and going to Wimbledon!

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Jul 2015 00:29:08
LVG has stressed at the news conference how professional De Gea has been and that he is happy to take him on tour. I am retrospectively adding weight to this in light of the AS article above, perhaps we have made headway in retaining De Gea.

Seriously, who cares how much Schneiderlin costs it isn't our money and everyone says he is THE player to improve our midfield, Schweini and Carrick will be injured so can dovetail nicely.
Ed is always saying how minted we are we will spend the money anyhow

Darmian just landed at MAN (17.21). Guess that means a medical tomorrow now.

I really hate the haggling going on with Schneiderlin. Of course transfers are complicated affairs but he is what we really need. We need him they don't need to sell. Why can't a fee be agreed on. We got to gel the players ASAP and start this season on the go against Tottenham. Can any Ed enlighten on the exact position United and Satan are in at the moment?

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 21:00:44
Well, satan is currently seeking legal action against Manchester United for using red 'devils' as their name. Copyright issue apparently

What's very odd is that LVG wanted signings done before preseason.

10 Jul 2015 21:17:56
Don't hear any moaning from schniederlin camp so I guess they are happy so why are you moaning I guess they know more than you

10 Jul 2015 21:56:51
Well Ken, Its not being able to wait for United to hit the ground running and settle in for the season. Last season we had 13 points off 10 games. The reason? New players need time to settle and know eachother. Well, I certainly can't wait to see a midfielder like him.
The wait's been too damn long for a proper CM signing. If its moaning, so be it.
PS: Schweini rumors running hard right now.

It's not odd that LVG wants his signings done before pre-season. The sooner he gets players in the better and quicker they and the rest of the team can gel.

If we signed our players before we fly to USA then the new team would get 4 games to play in. It makes sense that he would want signings prior to pre season.

Also the team etc can concentrate on their football without the distraction of transfers.

Hi Ed's - I am a regular contributor to the site as you may know. Several people ask about a fantasy football league each year and I have been part of one for the past 4/5 years, I can vouch for the credibility of it. I didn't want to post on the website without your permission first, this is what I want to post, do you mind?

"I am part of a dream team league, ran by a chap called Andy. I have done this for the past 4+years and it works a treat. You pay £50 upfront and each month there is a prize for manager of the month, the remaining money goes into a pot for the top 3 managers of the year - all registration fees are redistributed to winning managers. I have personally won a few managers of the month and have been paid appropriately. This is just a group of guys coming together and nothing formal/company orchestrated, so if you want to join the league the code is 90970-25762 (it is the Fantasy Premier League). Andy will provide you with his acct details if you join and over recent seasons we have had over 50 people in the league – it was primarily a group of friends but I have asked him if he would mind me opening it up to my “banter buddies” and he has no problem so long as it causes him no issues"

Now I'm confused yesterday someone was going to setup a FF competition for the lads all here at no cost, I think that £50 is a tad steep especially when in euros it's 70 or more for your one Beast.

Now I'm not a tight git but I try play the FF gig and more times than not forget to change players etc, as I get caught up in stuff at home or within family homes doing repairs etc so miss a lot of the tactical changes lol!!

If we were to set up a MUFC page FF competition and at a cost of €20/25 I would enter it no problem

Pyramid Scheme!

10 Jul 2015 23:10:25
We had one for free last season, not sure who set it up but we had over 70 people in it from this website.

The one I am talking about has cash aspects attached so obviously won't be for everyone. I throw in £50 with this guys league because if you win a manager of the month its normally £80-£100, then £1k or so to overall winner.

Horses for courses, I just put it out there as some people were asking and I have always been paid on time.

Reports coming out of Madrid that Ramos has broken all negotiations with us, if there ever were any. Maybe this means we keep DDG for another year or we've turned our interest to Otamendi.

Rather sell De Gea and get like 25-30 odd million for him than lose him for free in a year.

Agree1 Disagree6

10 Jul 2015 14:26:20
If he stays at United he will sign another contract with a buy out clause in it, that way everyone wins should he go next season

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 14:35:14
Taking the hit on De Gea will not cause us any financial problems and I'd rather have him than not. I hope he stays.

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 15:12:55
id rather keep De Gea and lose him on a free. he could be the difference between us winning the league. if that is worth 30m, then so be it.

10 Jul 2015 16:19:09
I had it in my diary that the Ramos discussion would "hit a snag" on Monday. Is the snag that he wants to stay in Spain as he would miss him mammas special tapas?

Anyone know what he's like on the offensive?

Does he like to get well forward and cross or shoot? Stay deeper and put in deep crosses? Stat deep and pass it around?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2015 07:55:46
He's very good going forward, he's not like your typical wingback like Alves, Marcelo, Coleman etc but he can go forward and cross well from what I've seen. Remember England vs Italy World Cup? Him and Candreva tore England apart from that right side going forward could probably find the match on YouTube

Dennis Irwin without the dead ball expertise is as close as you'll get to a resemblance football wise. Good Solid Quick full back on either side who gets forward & back quick. Difficult to get past. I think he is a great addition.

Mad Dog.
