Hi all just on my hols in portugal I was just chatting to some local at the bar while watching the Ireland game, he claimed he was a good mate of nani and he said apparently he will be moving this summer to Madrid to hook up will ronaldo Fee thought to be around 25 mil. He seemed pretty convincing but we have been drinking super bock( local beer) for the last 2 hours Aaron from Newport s.wales {Ed007's Note - Before you start on the guy it appears that he is in Portugal.}

Believable8 Unbelievable23

Oh this is too good to miss out on! Did he also tell you that you can cut glass with scissors if you do it under water too ? I guess the man at the bar knowledge trick has done some Jedi master stuff in ya. I met a guy in my local who knows Rooney and he said he is 100 percent going to quit soccer to run with 50cent and his crew cause hes a mad rapper :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope goes hes not realy made it as he scored a few good goals but nevet in ronaldos league

Agree0 Disagree0

From Nani saying himself "it is not only about Spain and England" I reckon he will be off to Juve as they have always been big fans of his. Lets get Bale in to replace him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell him buy, Affelay or Dzagoev both on the cheap. Affelay could be available for 6m and Dzagoev is out of contract in january so again would be cheap. Sell Nani for 25m get a player just as good and make 15 to 19m profit. Even the glazers can't say no to that.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is what we want, proper rumours! Although I to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he did go, but I for one would be sorry if he did. Yes, he's infuriating, yes his decission making is cr*p, but he takes people on, creates and scores. I think he's paid the price of being the same nationality as Ronnie and seen by some to be the new messiah.

J - Stand

PS... Has Sidney calmed down yet?

Agree0 Disagree0

We are reportedly asking a minimum of 30m for him. He should not go for less than that. I would only like to see him go if we get a left footed winger to replace him. Bale number one choice if possible then maybe Affellay if not. Past reports of a possible 45m euro deal in place with Juventus though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nani 30 million and what do u base this valuation on?

Assists
Goals
Team work
Attitude
Form

Before putting a valuation on someone actually think about the price your saying

MUFC1990

Agree0 Disagree0

Last time I drank Super Bock for 2 hours I would have believed Nani was better than Ronaldo!

We could sell Nani, but buying Dzagoev because you saw him once no name would be a ridiculous idea. Lets not base our summer wishlists on people who have good tournaments!

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

If we can get 30-35mil for nan i believe it would be a smart choice to let him go. He is an incredible talent but can be frustratingly inconsistent. At 25 years he has another 4-5 good years in him however the funds can be used to get a really strong holding midfielder. apparently fergie wants to buy strootman but by selling nani we can go after javi martinez or yann m'villa and secure that position for the next 10 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are Juve suddenly getting all this money from?

An open question, anyone can answer it.

J - Stand

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL at some of the above replies! Especially the guy who reckons we should sell because he's not as good as Ronaldo (who is?) and the other guy who wants to replace Nani with either Afellay or Dzagoev?! Ahhh the grass is always greener!

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Any of the edds heard anything bout that anzi lot supposed to be offering 50 million for nani
Steve {Ed002's Note - £50M? no.}

Agree0 Disagree0

J-Stand

(IMO - And not a slurr on Juventus as meant in jest.)

Through all the dodgy corrupt deals and games fixing in the Italian League! lol

I wondered many times where their supposed abundance of funds have come from but they could have come from anywhere the state their league is in.

Monk

Agree0 Disagree0

Bulls**t. I met a friend of an uncle of Messi's wife in my local, said Messi is currently at Old Trafford doing him medical.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

After nani CRYING at anfield and having the nerve to compare himself with ronaldo i'll buy him a one way ticket out of manchester,,,,

Agree0 Disagree0

I do hope Nani's form takes an unprecedented upturn and I rue writing this but, based on his time with us thus far, I'd CARRY him to Juve, Real or basically anywhere else in the known universe he was inclined to go to.

£30m fee ? I assume there's a decimal point been misplaced there.

In all seriousness if we got half of that I think it would be good business. Don't rate him, don't see why plenty of others do. People are deluded if they think we can attract £30m for a 25yo who has not lit the Premier on fire compared to the £32m that a 21yo 'prodigy' in Hazard went for (and we matched fee wise).

On the Liverpool page there is a couple of posts about Willems to which the eds have replied saying he's old Trafford bound? Is this so?

LUKE CHADWICKS LOVE CHILD

Believable8 Unbelievable16

So peeps? is he? would love to get another one over the scousers!! :o)

Agree0 Disagree0

What the hell are you doing on the Liverpool page:)

Agree0 Disagree0

That was Ed002 that answered both questions on Willems, maybe she has an idea that he is ,certainly a good prospect but supposedly Blackett sp? is very good too

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep your freinds close, and your enemies even closer!

J - Stand

Agree0 Disagree0

I must confess I wasn't actually on there my brother supports them, poor judgement I know but he was influenced by my dad who also supports them! Me however I seen the light :)

LUKE CHADWICKS LOVE CHILD

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see us signing s left back as Fergie seems to love Evra (definitely the weak link in the team IMO) and Tyler Blackett will be ready to step into the first team in next couple of seasons. I rate this lad very highly and think he is the future United and England left back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard a rumour from a much more reliable source who says united buying if not bought jordi alba as long as he passes a medical after euros please luke jr stop posting about every player you see at the euros cheers

Lewandowski move is smoke screen for double swoop for ozil and benzema. Both have fallen out with Mourinho apparently over new contract discussions and are looking for a way out. Expect a £60 million + Bebe deal to be completed some time this week!

Trumours

Believable15 Unbelievable14

That is hilarious, so the sum total of that deal works out to about 61 million then?! Bebe at Real Madrid, also I suppose you haven't seen the news today regarding the interview with benzema he said that Fergie has tried taking him to United the last 3 or 4 seasons and that he is very happy at Real, this is just not going to happen!
Carl

Agree0 Disagree0

I have also heard this from a very reliable source! Expect to see RVP and gotze fill the gap at madrid.
Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth would anyone especially real Madrid want bebe ?!?
Sparky

Agree0 Disagree0

Trumours

You had my hopes up then until I saw the +Bebe.

A

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow ! has it really been that slow today ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its what iv'e been told.... sounds stupid but remember they were very interested in Bebe before we snapped him up.... Maybe they can see something in him?

Trumours

Agree0 Disagree0

Would that not essentially rule out Mourinho taking over from Fergie?

Agree0 Disagree0

It is someone having a laugh, it's TRUMORS, not Trumours and I never posted either. Come on Ed sort it out ;)

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - Well you don't leave an Ip name or email so we don't know if it is you or not}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah ok then! Someone has been on the snow

Agree0 Disagree0

There is more chance of me playing for Real Madrid than Bebe, ridiculous rumour !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney you are such a joker!

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Bebe to madrid, ha ha ha ha ha ha please stop ha ha ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually carl the sum would be about 57 million. We have to pay them to take him off our hands. Why bebe though of all people that could be on their way out?

Daniel

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither player has shown the slightest interest in coming to Utd...don't delude yourself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why can't people tell it was a Scouser on a wind-up mission. He was trying to impersonate TRUMORS, but failed to spell his name correctly and he tried to impersonate me too with the post after Carl's.

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - Dealt with Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sly Spurts understands Manchester City are weighing up a move for France and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
"The player has stated himself he will not go to Manchester United, however, he has not ruled out a switch to join the champions. I will have a clearer picture soon after the Euros when I have time to sit with his representatives."
"But personally I can see the business being done and to be fair it will rock English football."
If Benzema is going anywhere in england it City, disapointing but true.
sorry for copy and paste

Agree0 Disagree0

Its all a bit cloak and dagger? is it syd or isnt it, its like watching a drama.

Anon

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha lay off the blow

Agree0 Disagree0

Punching above your weight if you think any of those two would even entertain signing theyve already blown you out several times they also like playing attractive football
y.n.w.a {Ed004's Note - What is the point you coming on to Manchester United page if you are only on to be bitter? Atleast most other Pool fans come on in an attempt to actually banter... *sigh*}

Agree0 Disagree0

I didnt see any of those quotes in Benzema's interview?!

"it will rock English football" !

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Bebe is only included in the deal to walk there with the money in a big white cotton bag with a black dollar sign on it. He may also be forced to wear a stripey top and mask as he steals for the living!

Salford C

Agree0 Disagree0

Bebe...... worth more than karim and otzil.......

Agree0 Disagree0

Bebe actually scored one of the best goals I've ever seen, a true volley straight from a long boot off Ben Amos for the reserves early last season! I still think he's sh1t though and the scout who recommended he comes to Old Trafford is obviously on someone elses payroll!

J - Stand

Agree0 Disagree0

Bebe. What a great signing! Right up there with Tosic, Kleberson and Ralf Milne!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we could even pay someone to take him off our hands let alone convince madrid to take him in part of a deal for two of their best players. It was Queroz who recommended him to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish that was true but don't see that happening. fergie has already got kagawa to play in that attacking role behind rooney and won't be getting ozil who plays an identical role at madrid. as for benzema he claims to be happy at madrid so sadly i don't think he will be coming. Let's keep our fingers crossed that lewandowski comes to united though. incredible talent, young yet experinced and would be a great signing and definetely cheaper than benzema though not by much. Also nuri sahin of madrid might be a good option as he has hardly featured for madrid and could be a great buy for just 10-15 mil. he was still an incredible talent at dortmund and can reunite with kagawa and lewandowski. what a trio that would be along with our main man rooney

Agree0 Disagree0

Would that be same Benzema who's apparently scoffed at United having tried to buy him last 4 seasons ?

Ozil - yes perrrrleasseeeee!!! Though can't see it mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the f*+k would real madrid want bebe in any deal?? right oh pal...

one thing that really annoys me is people saying evra shouldn't be replaced because he is the club captain. Wrong. Vidic is the club captain and when he picked up a season ending injury he needed replacing. There was a lack of candidates. Rio and Giggs have both had the armband before but neither are regular starters anymore. Scholes has never been interested the guy has no ego. Rooney isn't captain material and neither is carrick. It would have gone to fletcher but he had his own health issues. It only left evra. Once vidic is back he is captain. But it does raise the question of long term who gets the job. Some say jones but first he needs a regular position.

Believable26 Unbelievable21

I will think you will find evra is current captain . Or technically Is Ferdinand not actually club captain but due to injuries it got passed temporarily to vidic. Back to the drawing board eh ? Either way your theory is flawed !

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you'll find Vidic is the Captain...if Ferdinand was captain, wouldn't he have the armband when he plays? either way your theory is flawed....

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidic is officially club captain! End of!!

Redfrosty7

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't really matter who wears the armband at the end of the day. When Rio plays he shouts at everyone like he has CAPTAIN tattooed on his forehead. Rooney has definitely been captain material this season IMO. Only got one yellow card right at the end of the season and he's always has a go at players when they don't play to their full potential. But as we know in later years SAF has always preferred a defender to be captain which is why I think Evra got it over Wayne!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

The OP is correct, Evra being captain doesn't mean he is highly regarded still, it means he was the only logical candidate. If the rumours are true regarding Baines, then I expect Evra to be sold this summer.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney some times you talk absolute rubbish Evra is not going to be sold this season even if we do get Baines. No-one makes someone captain for a long period of time without rating them highly. Evra is still quality he had a terrible year off the pitch last year with his brother dieing and the racism issue and was still the 3rd best left back in the premier league behind cliche and ashley cole. He's not being sold!

Agree0 Disagree0

What was Evra's excuse for the season before then?

Evra was made captain because he is the most experienced player who is a regular starter. He was a regular starter because he never had anyone to rival his position.

If Baines is signed then I guarantee you Evra will be sold. There will be no point paying either of them the wages they are on to sit on the bench. Evra would also be taking up a value bench spot. If Baines is signed Evra will be sold, I have no doubts about that.

Perhaps you should leave a name you gutless little man.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney would be a great captain.

Ryan.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a bit insulting Sydney, calling someone who doesn't leave a name a 'Gutless little man' just becuase he recognises that most of the time you talk Bo***cks. It's amazing how brave someone can be from the safety of a key board!

J - Stand

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not afraid to leave a name and therefore cannot hide from my past predictions and opinions if I am wrong.

I do not see what it has got to do with you anyway.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney is just very strongly opinionated! ;)

Agreeing with Ryan, i think Rooney should be our next captain. He should get it over Jones however i think Vidic will be captain for the next year or two. See how things pan out but with the passion and great footballing brain that Wazza has and how he's been really diciplined i think he should get it. Notice how SAF always gets Rooney over to the touch line when he wants to get some words spread about the pitch..?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney, you have no clue what you're talking about. Evra is still one of the best left backs in the world, and is al ot better then Baines, he was even given a roasting by Downing of all people. Evra won't be sold. I love how you get irate when someone doesn't agree with your opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just cause someone does not leave their name means nothing, Sidney ! You have your opinions I disagree with the majority as there very detailed but have no substance no real bite to them. Ur knowledge of google ? If I were rd's I'd give you a ban. But it's freedom of speech that matters here !

Agree0 Disagree0

So in your opinion Sydney... What happens when we buy Baines and sale Evra and then Baines starts playing crap? No competition for places gives us the same situation with a worse player. I agree too that you talk rubbish half the time. Have a word.... Ady

Agree0 Disagree0

And Evra received a roasting by Tony Hibbert among several players for the past two seasons. I would love to know what games some of you are actually watching.

The reason I believe we will sell Evra if Baines is purchased is because we are looking to buy Willems and it's looking very likely that he will become a United player. There would be no need for Evra, Baines and Willems, which is why I strongly believe if we sign Baines, then we will sell Evra. I do not particularly rate Baines and I do not think we will sign him, but I strongly believe if we do sign Baines then we will sell Evra.

That's my opinion, if you don't like it then tough sh1t.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Getting a bit touchy Sydney, aren't we?

J - Stand

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL, nah mate I am good. Still smiling like always. Just find it funny when people jump on my opinions calling them bo11ocks or calling me clueless, then criticise me for having a different opinion to them. Just remember it was you nuggets who jumped on my post.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure United at one point, had Henize, and Evra as their left backs. Both were quality, and both managed to get enough games. There wasnt much of a settled back 4 for the first 5months of the season. Evra is the only player in the United team really never to get a break, he's had 1 poor season prior to this one, and this season he had a lot of difficult moments with his brother dying. Near the end of the season you started to see glimpses of the old Evra.

Agree0 Disagree0

Evra is Captain on merit.
Anyone who thinks he isn't highly regarded is fooling themselves.
Not only by the staff but also well respected amonsgt the players.
He is an ambassador for the club and some of you speak about him like he plays for another team.
A little respect would be nice.
Baines? Not fit to lace Evra's boots.

Bob

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah a sensible post, I agree Evra looked better towards the end of the season offensively, but it's not his offensive play in question. He IMO is the best LB on the planet at getting from one box to the other, but his defending is very poor and he cannot improve that unless he sacrifices his forward play. His legs are not what they used to be unfortunately. 2010/11 he was poor, but I hoped it would improve after a good rest, but this season he was worst. I think he will stay if we sign Willems, but with Baines coming in as well I think he would be sold if that happened.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney, i didn't mean to irritate you anyways, just came back on and saw everything that came from that first comment I made. I actually quite enjoy your opinions most of the time but I just can't see Evra leaving. And no thinking about it I can't explain why he had a dip in form the year before. But I stick by my statement I still think he's the 3rd best left back in the EPL atm.

And my names TRJC btw.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really heinze was number one left back and we bought evra. Evra was not really ready and heinze got injured. Evra was exposed unexpectedly and did not have a great first couple of games. Then he started to learn how we play over here and was excellent. , heinze then could not get a game. Well not any of the big games and then he saw his ass and was considering piscine us off and going scousersbut he ended up at Madrid . The rest my friend is history. !

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidic is the official club captain. Rio was not featuring regularly before last season and hence it was passed to vidic. Evra should be sold to allow baines to get a clear shot to make that spot his own, provided he signs for utd. in five years time he can be replaced by fabio who still has a lot of potential despite not really impressing last season but a loan deal that gives him regular playing time can really hone his skills. great attacking full back

Agree0 Disagree0

TRJC

Thanks mate, to be fair I do not think Evra will be sold either, simply because I cannot see Baines being bought. It's far more likely we will buy Willems and keep Evra for one more year until Fabio is ready, then release Evra next year, but I do believe if we buy Baines we will sell Evra.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Evra playing his best games at the end of the season? Hold on 3-0 loss to Wigan, 4-4 draw with Everton and 1-0 loss to city shows the bigger picture.

I hope we get Strootman, and considering Van Bommel has come to PSV it may open the way for us to get Strootman.

Believable37 Unbelievable12

I don't see what the desire is for Strootman. He is completly unproven, we want proven talent that will make a difference immediatly.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree red devil, shouldn't be wasting 15+ million on unproven talent. Maybe one for the future, but still a gamble at 15 million really should be focusing on proven talent.

MUFC1990

Agree0 Disagree0

RedDevil19 wasnt it you going on about clyne not so long ago hardly proven talent there, at least strootman plays at a high standard and an international

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree0

Pay up to an extra £5mil and get M'Vila

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, i was going on about Clyne, and i still think he'd be no risk. We aren't paying £15 million for him, he'd be £1-2 million at the most. There is a difference between signing Clyne, and signing Strootman.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Of coarse he won't be the same one is an international who plays in a competitive league the other plays in a poor team doesn't stand out and it's the championship , price reflects the talent

Dustbin

10 Jun 2012 23:39:28
I agree that Strootman is massively overated. Just because he is big makes him a defensive CM. There was a quote from Rene Meulensteen (united first team coach) a while back saying that he has the physique for the premier league but does not necessarily mean he would suit it. He is not a holding player he is more of a attacking mid. M'vila would be perfect if we cant hold onto Pogba (not sure if he is gone for sure).

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2012 05:53:42
strootman should be our prime target, better defensive mid since we have kagawa now, he's young and has the keanish vigour too, if modric comes ,it may hamper the development of clevz!

Believable40 Unbelievable10

Hes not a defensive mid

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure you've seen him play he's no Roy Keane. He's had a good season in holland but Charlie Adams & Henderson would shine in that league
Basically he will not improve us I'd rather give Petruci a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Best form of defence is possession modric & Carrick are masters and are always looking to penetrate opponents defence modric as shown his quality stroopman no one knows we have cleverley& Petruci coming along fine is the Dutch kid that can't get in the Dutch side any better?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the 2 above comments. Everyone is jumping on the Strootman band wagon. Jack Rodwell should be our main target for a defense minded mid either this season but more likely next. {Ed004's Note - No he shouldn't. He is way too injury prone and his improvement has stalled. Correct me if I am wrong, but won't his injuries continue to get worse due to his ligaments or something getting weaker..}

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh I didn't know about that thanks for the info Ed. Such a shame because he had so much potential! I heard that David Moyes is getting all kinds of specialists in. {Ed004's Note - I am not sure in all the details all I know is that he got 4 hamstring injuries in 4 months}

Agree0 Disagree0

Strootman are u serious, dutch journalists and supporters are amazed that this guy is interesting any club outside of holland let alone man utd, if they dont rate him then we dont need him.
Buy mccarthy from wigan, going to be a star.

sd {Ed004's Note - You are now Ed 7's favourite poster.. congratulations...}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather sign yohan from newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

Strootman is the way to go, if he isn't rated that highly in Holland then we will get him cheaper. Willems and Strootman for under £20m would be good business.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

We need 2 midfielders and the fact that M'Vila hasn't been strongly linked to us, (except on this page), is amazing. He's 21, available for 20 -24 million Euros is great value that's 17 - 20 million quid roughly. Add Marvin Martin or Cabaye and we'd get a defensive and attacking midfielders for the price of Modric.Levy at Spurs has said : he wouldn't sell Modric to another English club and if he did he'd want at least 40 million" of course I understand that could just be "hardball" negotiation tactic. i feel we'd have to pay at least 30m with another 5 in add ons. M'vila and martin would cost about that! Along with Kagawa, Henriquez and Powell that would be about 50 million, with 20 million coming from sales that means the Glazers would have to cough up 30m. If we go for a full back i hope it's Willems for around 10 m, but I think sales and 30m from the Glazers sounds about right.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

One thing i've noticed about Strootman is he is a very fast thinker. A lot of people comparing him to Roy Keane? Not really seeing that as his tackling isn't aggressive as such but he wins the ball and can eye a good pass and execute it very quickly. If we can get him relatively cheap then i think he'd be good. Willing to run but can pass well, would easily cope with the physically and athleticism of the PL not to mention his height would be a bonus, when Carrick wont be around all our midfielders are more or less midgets. - Cleverz, Kagawa, potentially Modric.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive said strootman all along the future of dutch football, dont know why de jong got the nod over him in the dutch midfield yesterday ! sign him up fergie

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the only reason m'vila hasnt been linked heavily with us yet is because SAF is holding onto the hope he can convince Pogba to stay. If Pogba leaves then expect M'vila to be a target and a good chance of him signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Strootman is a good player but hopefully fergie would go for martinez or m'villa as they are better holding midfielders who can pass the ball and keep possession well. however it's tough to see martinez leaving spain though. m'vill would be a better and realistic option

I know Russians don't have a rich history in the EPL, but I heard that Dzagoev is interested in Utd.

After his 2 goals in the opening Euro games and great lead into the tournament, I guess it won't be long before he is outed everywhere..

What do you think? {Ed007's Note - I'm interested in Utd, sadly I don't think that they are that interested in me.}

Believable23 Unbelievable6

Well he would be very cheap! Contract is up in January I believe, but if we was interested in him, we'd probably wait till January or nearer that time if I'm honest. Looked decent last match though

Agree0 Disagree0

Defo - i hope we get him, or rather united gain an interest in the fella! Played well the other night!

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you mean he will be outed everywhere?

Do you know something about him that we don't?

Pritpal

Agree0 Disagree0

The talent is there but it's too early to judge him. we are well stocked on the wings and i guess fergie would give priority to the full backs and central midfield positions. unless a winger is sold

Agree0 Disagree0

Pritpal :). Typo.
