Ed002, In your opinion, would United make a push for Mario Goetze if another club made an offer for him this summer? You have already confirmed interest from United perhaps for next summer, but if he were to move this summer do you see United pushing to agree a deal for him? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Perhaps. I know they would rather not and have explained what is "expected".)

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Can you explain again sorry Ed002 as I haven't seen the explanation? I tried to search but wasn't sure what to search for?

Thanks,

rpc {Ed002's Note - Search on Goetze, then 002.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems to have disappeared though Ed002. {Ed002's Note - I am still here.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, "I know they would rather not" Is that because United have their targets for this summer already planned out and having to buy Goetze this summer instead of next would hinder this summer's plans?

In a previous post you mentioned Goetze possibly coming in next season, I got the impression you meant possibly at the expense of Rooney (I could be wrong). If that is the case, wouldn't it be strange letting Rooney's contract run to one year or does he has a Berbatov-like clause in his contract with United having an option to extend by a year if need be? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I implied nothing about Rooney Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree1

ED002

When you said that the plan is to go for Goetze next summer. Is there such an agreement with the player and his club or just our plans.

Reason I ask this is supposedly in summer of 2008 we agreed with Ronaldo for another year and then he could leave to Madrid, which I assumed was also discussed with RM.

Finally, is it true that Arsenal had a bid turned down for him last summer at supposedly for 35 million. It sounds very unlike Arsenal to be paying that kind of money for a player.

Shahram {Ed002's Note - There is no agreement. Arsenal did indeed make a bid for Goetze - I don't want to get in to the money.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I was wrong Ed, I reread the post and I put 8 & 9 together and got 1. My bad.

Hey Ed any chance of United getting Bale or Falcao? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - See previous answers please.}

Believable9 Unbelievable21

Bale isn't interested in joining mate

Agree0 Disagree1

How do you know bale doesn't want to join, I would break the bank for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale would definately be interested in a move to manchester united, but then real madrid are involved and his agent will tell him to go to real for more money off course

Agree0 Disagree1

Zzzzzzzz, do u really believe we'd pay £55/60m to Levy for Bale. He looks awesome because of the average surroundings. Same as Berba did. Although Berba was arguably MORE effective for spurs than Bale. IMO.

Had a terrible day guys just after dislocating my finger! So could someone cheer me up with maybe a united transfer line that is true! Ed any more news on lewandoski? And are we interested gundogan?

Caoln. {Ed002's Note - Gundogan will likely be sold in the summer and there is interest from Rubin Kazan and Manchester City.}

Believable4 Unbelievable7

I really hope city don't get Gundogen, He, In my opinion would be a great and much needed addition to our aging midfield, He is pure class and passing of the ball is top quality.
James.

Agree2 Disagree0

Weren't we interested in Gündogan when he left Nürnberg?
Are we interested now?

Hello ed 002.
Today some reports on other sites suggests that united would happily activate gotze's release clause of 34m euro if other competitors pushes them.

Rodio17 {Ed002's Note - The figure is wrong but if you use the search function I have explained the matter already.}

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Ed. u said figure is wrong. so is it 34m pounds?

Rodio17 {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to the money as it simply confuses folks.}

I saw on the Real Madrid page that you said Di Maria, Modric, Higuain and possibly Benzema may all be offered up in deals for English based players, and listed United as one of the clubs to which they may be offered.

Are Madrid interested in Rooney? Or were you saying that these players could be offered to United so as to fund a deal for another player? {Ed002's Note - Madrid has no interest in Rooney. Adrid will offer these players in exchange for targets or will sell them to buy targets.}

Ed are we interested in Varane? The Mirror claims he has a 25m release clause and that Real are desperate to ofer him a new deal. It also says we are interested and he is switching agents to Mendes which might be a good sign. Any idea whether we have a chance?

Dan {Ed002's Note - I don't see there being any chance of Real Madrid selling Varane.}

Believable2 Unbelievable12

I saw you're bit about different clauses in another site can't remember which one. If this is a termination clause then they might not have a choice? Or if it a release clause then it doesn't matter as much.

Ed002 can you tell us which teams are interested in falcao? {Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Anzhi. Perhaps others.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

11 Apr 2013 17:58:02
says United HAVE paid an advance for Falcao just like we did for De Gea.

Believable4 Unbelievable21

Ballium galvje nbfrkjnvmzx wot ever his name is, the Spanish pundit has tweeted we have made a down-payment for falcao, how reliable is this bloke?Imagine the forward line of us with him, orgasmic, saf wanted to do better with our goal difference this year, the great man must want to blow rubbishty out the water next season if this rumour is true, joeyored {Ed002's Note - I spoke with someone from his primary owners today and they know nothing of any "deposit".}

Agree0 Disagree0

Is his name not allowed on here or something Ed? {Ed002's Note - It was an attempt at spelling his name correctly.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough ed002, this spainish bloke obviously fancied abit of the headlines with all the publicity this has caused, it does sound to good to be true, joeyored

Agree0 Disagree0

I must confess gagus I did jumble up his surname as I was unsure if his real name was allowed, joeyored

SAF looks for sell nani, valencia and young and want Roudriguez, A. Dejagah and De Maria.

shoolly

Believable8 Unbelievable37

What about the centre of midfield some like isco or moderic would do

Agree0 Disagree0

We have zaha coming in as well, 1 or max of 2 wingers will do even if all three are sold. Rodriguez and Di Maria! Modric would be great as well.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Nani, valencia and young I would sell as they are not doing the business, rvp is looking tired.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dejagah as in the guy from Fulham? Don't be silly.

Is there any truth in reports of interest in Raphael Varane?
Personally I think it's a load of rubbish but who knows

Believable4 Unbelievable33

11 Apr 2013 10:43:02
Falcao and now Varane, it looks like silly season is starting early this year. I can't say whether there is any truth in these rumours, but common sense would say they are a load of rubbish. When have we signed big name players for top money? We won't spend the 50m it would take to sign Falcao, and Varane is highly rated at Madrid, it would take a 35-40m bid to sign their best defender, which again we wouldn't pay. We sign players from smaller clubs who have potential and not as big a price tag. If we were going to sign Falcao we would have done so before he joined Porto, and if we were going to sign Varane we would have done before he signed for Madrid. When we could have picked these players up for less than 10m each. We were interested in both before they joined those clubs, but our interest in them dropped after they chose to join someone else. So I would say its just the press recyling old stories to selk papers.

Agree0 Disagree2

Why Varane when the problem is both in central midfield and the fact we have 3 wide players who are no longer up to scratch?
Strootman and james Rodrigeuz should be the two main goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt we nearly sign verane before he decided to join real madrid? - so why would we try and sign him now!

Agree1 Disagree0

I love the rumour mill but, let's get serious. Varane chooses RM over United in June 2011. He's on a 6 year contract, paid a shed load of money and and he's playing regularly. Why on earth would he suddenly want to join United now?
Oh yes, it's because every Red Top editor knows they increase their readership if they lead with a United story, however spurious!
