I'm at the point where i'm sick of Sneijder news, one minute it's he'll join in the next 48 hours and now it's United have given up trying to sign him.

Believable16 Unbelievable2

I'm sick of people posting they are sick of Sneijder news.

Im guessing if the sneijder deal falls through we will no buy anyone else.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

There is a chance we could buy douglas costa or marek hamsik

I still think Kagawa will be pursued if we fail to convince greedy to lower his wage demands.

quite interesting how e'eto gets offered a 340,000 a week contract to stay at inter ... where has the extra money come from?

Believable5 Unbelievable13

There is no way on this earth that Inter would pay £340k a week to Eto'o who they are trying to sell in order to lower their wage-bill. I think you will find it's Anzhi who have offered him £340k a week to join them.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not to stay at Inter, but to go to a Russian club

According to the daily mail the Sneijder deal is off as his wage demands are too high.

Believable12 Unbelievable9

Shock horror, Sneijder is being greedy.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

If this be the case then I say fine lets get on with it, we are better off without mercenaries. People like Sniejder should be bending over backwards at the thought of pulling on a UTD shirt....

Can't believe people doubt that Wesley Sneijder will join i know for fact he will just when said last night that fee was agreed just not how the payment is done how much over many years etc the wages are not a problem utd knew about them all was agreed back in London when Ferguson's and Gill meet Sneijder's agent when they played West Ham they knew all about how much the contract would cost them then they would not have progressed with the deal. Told today still talking over how much money up front will be payed if talks go well tomorrow Sneijder could be signed by Tuesday that's if they are complete talks. As said before it is PAYMENT PROBLEM THAT'S IT WILL HAPPEN SOON BE PATIENT. Give 3 reasons why deal will happen
1. Sneijder wants to join
2. Inter need to sell balance books
3. Nike want him at utd plus Ferguson needs him
For all people not sure where to believe i work at utd but not telling you my position just say it is high up so i know what is happening. One last thing just believe and have patient it is massive deal takes time and utd always choose targets way in advance. Give you clue who next summer's signing will be plays Everton that's all folks.

Only person we were interested at everton was rodwell cant see any more interest after signing jones who is getting better while rodwell had a very poor season.on holiday last week and talking to a couple of everton fans we see every year and they dont rate him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its hardly a secret that Rodwell has been looked at
MB

Agree0 Disagree0

U are talking rubbish for one a bet next season rodwell doesnt join cause its clear thats who u r talking about, and two if u were so high up in united u wouldnt risk ur job by posting petty comments on a page for fans if u know the full details moron.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poster is your name Rodney??? You plonker.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

How high up the man u hierarchy are you? do you distribute the aftershaves and mints in the toilets?

Agree0 Disagree0

You work "high up" at Manchester United? You can barely articulate yourself mate There's not a chance in hell you are "in the know" or work for United. And if they do employ people who are this incompetent, then i think we should all be concerned about the future of the club.

You don't need to pretend to work for United, we won't think any less of you for it, and we ALL might give a little more credit to your over elaborated explanation for your own reasoning behind the Sneijder outcome.

I'll add to this by saying Inter Milan definitely don't "NEED" to sell Sneijder, especially if Eto'o leaves. The club could easily afford to keep Sneijder if they wanted to. It's freakin' Inter Milan Not Barnsley.

Barrymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Everton player United maybe looking at might be a kid by the name of Berkley?

Apparently the kid's 16/17 and Everton reckon he's gonna be a bit special.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am not original poster but fergie has his eye on Hallam hope

Agree0 Disagree0

The plonkers are only them that have a go at original poster. Why can't somebody post without idiots calling them a plonker
Original poster kept posting and ignore idiots

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe that someone high up in United would have such poor spelling and grammar.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is true, I actually sit next to this bloke at work

Agree0 Disagree0

So he is so high up at Utd he yet doesnt even have his own office?

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't believe that anyone who is "high up" at United does not know how to construct a sentence.

How are we supposed to read your text when it just goes on and on without drawing breath?

I wouldn't usually comment on it but your claims of authority and lack of writing technique are completely at odds with each other.

A take on the sneijder affair. If we take him at the exorbitant fee and wages it will probably give us 25 games per season the upside to that is Cleverly? Sp would could get game time.

Question is would WS be worth the money balancing the knowledge Cleverly, Tunniclffe etc could learn

Thoughts Ed's Syd other worthies?

Pardoe {Ed004's Note - I am stuck in the middle, I keep changing my mind, Yes he would be brilliant, but it might be a waste of money if he does not adapt}

Believable6 Unbelievable1

The thing i dont understand ed is that you and others are worried a player of wesley's quality cant adapt in our league. first of all he is expensive i understand and some people may worry he may turn out like veron but sneijder is 10 times the player he is. and all you need to do is watch him for inter 2 seasons ago when they won the treble or watch the performances he put in at the world cup. he was the driving force behind that team and he inspired them to the final. no i have NO doubt he would adapt in the prem because he is a 'world class' player who has performed at the very biggest stage. (world cup). and if scholes rates him then he must be half decent eh? also we have so many matches in the calendar and cleverley and anderson cant play all of them. plus having sneijder there will take the pressure of these two as i guarantee people are expecting them to be like xavi and iniesta this season and its going to be tough to even gain a patch on those two. cleverley will have some bad games and us fans need to recognise nobody is perfect and a player like sneijder is perfect for us. and money grabbing nasri would have been nice but money lures for some. anyway sneijder is one of the best in his position and he wants to come. hopefully we get over this hiccup over wages and we can greet our little dutch magician to the 'real' manchester. this guy will bring the buzz back to OT the same way ronaldo did at his time. he will also scare teams the way ronaldo did. people it just amazes me how some people on here are against going for him because he has had one bad season and is 27 ? its bonkers i agree kagawa and goetze are cheaper and going to be extremely talented but there is no guarantee they will succeed here as they have not gained enough experience. whereas wesley has played on the 2 biggest stages (world cup and champions league). now who in our squad has played in a world cup final ? my thoughts exactly so this guy is PERFECT for united. Thoughts?

Park 3 Lung

Agree0 Disagree0

"fans need to recognise nobody is perfect and a player like sneijder is perfect for us." So is he perfect or not? And I really don't believe in this not enough experience. I know you didn't mention him but Hazard has 110 appearances for Lille and 20 appearances for Belgium AND he's only 20 years old. Now for a 20 year old, that is pretty good IMO. Kagawa has 158 club appearances and 23 appearances for Japan. Goetze (my preferred option) has made 48 appearances for Dortmund (scoring 9 with 16 assist, not bad considering he is only 19 and so will only get better) and 7 for Germany. Goetze is less experienced but after watching them play (actual games and not you tube) he is my preferred option

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 22:34:44
Sneijder nearly a man utd player. Goetze and Eriksen are being lined up for next season. Glazers have provisionally sold to the Qataris with berbs going to PSG lots of other stuff going on.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

To be honest im sick of all the Wesley Sneijder rumours , if he does end up arriving at us it wont be till late August. There is the transfer fee to be sorted , then the fact that WS gets ridiculous wages at Inter sorting out a way around this will take just as long. I think that the less rumours we hear the better , which means business is actually being done. For all we know WS is in Manchester right now , remember we tried to hide De Gea who was basically confirmed by all parties.

Sneijder Boredom

Afternoon people. I read alot of 'rumours' and comments on here from fans who think that WS coming to United is a sure thing. I am of the opinion that any deal is being delayed and delayed in order for United to sign another player who is not the subject of so much speculation and also so WS can secure a further a lucrative contract with Inter. Why would United pay a player who has no Premiership experience, an average playing time of only 25 games per season and who also failed at Real Madrid £200,000 a week.
Personally I would rather Samir Nasri or a young, hungry player who Fergie can mould into a great, i.e Goetze or Hazard. Someone will come in and if it is WS then so be it, but do not get your hopes up.
Remember is Fergie and United we trust

Rich I {Ed004's Note - Would love to see Goetze here}

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Nasri mould into the likes of Hazard, gotze, Are you having a laugh Nasri is every bit as good if not better, sorry ALOT BETTER than these two plus he can handle the premiership. Guys wise up and stop naming stupid names just for the sake of it or just because you have watched an edited youtube video. Nasri is much the better option than these two but its all nonsense. We will sign Sneijder {Ed004's Note - Imo I would prefer Nasri to Sneijder}

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the same player who was the driving force behind inters treble winning season and the same player who scored 5 goals at last years world cup ? how many did nasri score ? did he even start ? now dont get me wring nasri is excellent but wesley sneijder is 'world class'. to say he is not as good as nasri is barmey as he won the club midfielder of the year in 2010 beating xavi and iniesta. so dont tell me he wouldnt be able to adapt to the prem. he is quality. but i would agree hazard or nasri would be awesome

park 3 lung

Agree0 Disagree0

To they guy who has slated Hazard and Goetze, you clearly have never seen them play. Granted they are not as good now, but in the future they will eclipse him by a mile. I've actually seen them play in matches not just edited you tube clips and they will be a class apart in the future

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 19:05:39
Arsenal to accept 22m bids for nasri,with city being front runners and united dark horses as they will look to evra to work the magic on his friend to join them.united can also use their recent impressive victory over city to nab nasri from them.u'll be suprised guys and remember saf doesnt want his target signings to be known.what do u think Edd? {Ed004's Note - He would be a very good player for us, and could be the 20+ goals a season player we need from midfield}

Believable9 Unbelievable2

11 Aug 2011 17:45:53
i think this sneijder thing is a smoke screen for someone else to be signed.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Although he admitted that some sort of talks have gone on between inter and mufc? it was on a video so he definitely said it.. don't think so

Agree0 Disagree0

He said unoffical talks have gone on between him an united not inter an utd. hense why inter president said if man utd want to sign him to contact the club not the player i dont think he will join this summer, fergie will have some1 else up his sleeve

Agree0 Disagree0

There has been confirmed interest so i doubt it is unless Sir Alex thinks there is little chance of getting him now. Although its a big deal with a big player so i would expect it to be slow and drawn out. I know the wait is killing us but hopefully there will be some light at the end of the tunnel soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm still hoping it's actually De Rossi and that Cleverly gets a chance, but I won't be surprised when WS joins.

Good afternoon Guys

I have to say I was getting really excited a couple of days ago when it appeared WS was finally about to sign now things have gone quiet again.I just think it is the usual football propaganda whereby the player is holding out for as much as he can get and Fergie is letting him know who the boss is.I think (and I'm hoping) that there will be an agreement on wages, image rights etc and that Wes will be a red but I think it could go right to the end of the window.

Sneijder is in Ibiza so the deal will not be completed any time soon. He just tweeted.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

11 Aug 2011 16:04:46
man u will beat city for nasri becoz fergie isnt sure of wesley's deal going through so nasri is the only one who could be certain to join without any wages problems

Hi guys. With the season soon to begin, who do you think will start RB for us? {Ed004's Note - Rafael}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I expect Rafael to start RB. Smalling looked good in that position but i think it was more of a tester, he may well be used as a cover at RB now that O'shea and Brown have gone though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. Rafael at RB Evra at LB, Fabio can cover for both, Smalling and possibly Jones as additional cover at RB. Personally I would like to have seen an experienced RB come in to replace O'Shea but now Im starting to think were actually fine after seeing Smalling's capable performance on Sunday. GazHP

From what I can tell the deal for Sneijder is definitely on. Inter now have a strong position as they will solve their money problems with the sale of Eto'o but such is the modern world, people are greedy, and they are more than willing to sell Sneijder, but they can afford a higher price now. Sir Alex knows that his mind games usually work, and his constant denials are to send Inters asking price down in a panic. The dealk is probably agreed on both sides, and Sneijders wage demands are the only problem. In my mind, he will be a United player within a week. What do you think is happening Sydney and Ed? And what do you think will happen? {Ed004's Note - If the rumours are to be believed it seems we are now trying to agree a price that suits both parties.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Where can i find this info on twitter, cant sleep thinking about sneidjer in the united shirt....................how sad :)

Agree0 Disagree0

A reserve back line of smalling-evans-jones-fabio that is better than most top tier teams starting defence - im looking at you arsenal - the future is bright the future is united

Sneijder will be at carrington later today. This is from the man inside and he knows.

Believable7 Unbelievable15

I have heard similar info on twitter. Maybe something in it. Sky sports news is incredibly slow compared to Twitter. Not all of it is good stuff, but interesting all the same

11 Aug 2011 11:19:19
The first time SSN sources have commented on the Sneijder to United situation and they are saying they understand that it's the player who will not lower his wage demands. That is the only thing holding up the deal. I say forget him and concentrate on bringing in someone else.

Sydney!

Believable13 Unbelievable5

We do not need a mercenary. Cleverly performed well and it would slow his development if he cannot play regularly.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true then it completely changes my opinion of wesley, he came across as a nice guy who has his priorities set straight but instead he just wants money? eughh

Agree0 Disagree0

Bringing in another midfielder will not slow down anyone's progression, it is a squad game now and we are a midfielder short IMO. I just feel a Kagawa would be a much better and cheaper option. Kagawa is very talented and could do anything Sneijder could do IMO, apart from the free-kicks.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

There's plenty of the window left, I bet he's just playin hard ball to get a bit more. Let's not forget he doesn't need to move, inter is a big club.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Do we have a chance to sign Kagawa? Ed? Sydney?

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal is done, as I keep saying and why would we want to forget a World Class player. Weve all winged for the last 3 years about a world class Cm , now we're getting one and also playing our youngsters so why would you say forget him. He will be awesome and our kids will grow alongside him with all his experience. SSN are re-playing old stories- all italian sources and journo's now saying deal done. When Inter give us the nod the deal will be announced.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Guardian Have said sneijder will sign in the next 48 hours(27 hours ago) which means he should be signed in the next 21 hours or so(according to the story) and that all that has to be sorted out is the wages and personal terms.

Aaronaldo7

Agree0 Disagree0

This sneijder situation is highly dull now. really hope someone buys him soon just to stop all this persistant rumours that are clearly not true. I have to believe we will sign a midfielder but i dount its WS. although i do think we need to buy a finished article.roland

Agree0 Disagree0

He annoys me, he seems to have an inflated opinion of himself Get Kagawa as you said before

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because SSN say that's the reason doesn't mean it's true

Agree0 Disagree0

Cleverley has played well pre-season, but he hasn't tried playing week in, week out for our first team. I think he will do well, but will only get games against lesser teams. We need at least one new midfielder. Ganso, or Hamsik would be my choice. Though I'd settle for McCarthy or Marvin Martin.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I would imagine there is some truth in this. After all, Fergie blew his top at the journalist who stated this to be the case a few weeks ago.

MDJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is anybody surprised about this? It's been the case with this whole saga all summer. Sneijder's wage demands are extreme to say the least, United would be better off ending interest and moving onto someone else preferably younger, wouldn't mind Kagawa but for Mario Goetze is the player we should be buying he's going to be the next big thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you all keep going on about signing younger players on less money. It's all about balance with Fergie and always has been. He knows after so many senior players have retired that we need another world class experienced player who has been there and done it and Schneider does fit the bill.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 11:05:09

looks like fab to barca is finally over after both teams reached an agreement. have to say feel sorry for arsenal and there fans, barca and fabregas have treated them really badly. okay it was his dream to play for them etc etc, but still respect is above all desires.

REDSTER

Believable13 Unbelievable5

I couldn't agree with you more REDSTER, both Barca and Fabregas are a disgrace and I'm dismayed that UEFA do not take action for this type of tapping up behaviour?

Agree0 Disagree0

What's Fabregas done wrong exactly? He's wanted this move for over two years but kept his mouth shut. He could have come out into the media to force a deal through. But unlike Modric, Cesc is not throwing his toys out of the pram. Very similar to the Ronaldo situation. Both transfers have been handled in a very professional way by both players IMO.

Matthew...

Agree0 Disagree0

Feel sorry for arsenal, is that the team that battered ruud van nistelrooy yet ronaldo and united got charged.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ matthew, its the way the they handled the situation. torres left liverpool without any speculation, am sure liverpool didnt want to sell him, even though the player wanted to leave. and am not saying ronaldo as any better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see anything wrong with it on fabregas part, apparently he paid Arsenal £4million to leave. No poing having him there anyway, he hasn't been committed for some time. Aresenal should have managed the situation better, if they were going to sell him they could have sorted it out earlier than now.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 14:37:50
Mathew take a look at the picture in the link:

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/8818862.stm

and let me know if you do not consider that disrespectful? It claims he was forced into the shirt, doesn't look as though he is kicking and screaming to me. OK maybe I don't agree with everything REDSTER posted in the 'feel sorry for arsenal' bit

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Fabragas has been respectful to Arsenal. I think Arsenal have treated him badly. He has always said he wanted to return to Barcelona, yet stayed an extra 2 seasons out of respect. Arsenal and their fans always had an inflated idea of his worth, he was never a £50m player. £30m-£35m is about right. If he was coming to us, what do you think SAF and David Gill would have paid? I would guess £30m or just over.

RUMOURS STARTING ABOUT THE SWOP OF WELBECK FOR NASRI WHAT DO YOU THINK

Believable6 Unbelievable26

Rumours starting where? I'd rather keep Welbeck, he's gonna be a stat

The Neviller

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah, i'd say just keep welbeck and get the world class wesley sneijder? yeahh sounds good

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not, he's one of our most promising young players, superb touch, vision and link play and can score goals. We're well capable of spending the cash on a decent player without losing one of our best prospects for the future

Agree0 Disagree0

He already is a 'stat' - i guess you meant star

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope not. nasri would not be my first choice target at all and after pre-season and seein Welbeck at wembley, I'd be really disappointed to see him leave.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumours starting with you, you mean? The problem isn't buying Nasri from Arsenal, the problem is convincing Nasri to not be a money grabbing mercenary and join us instead of City.

Sounds like crap and arsenal don't need another striker, they have already purchased 2 this window.

Wesley Sneijder will join Man Utd for around £30M plus add-ons bring the fee close to £33M the wages are still being sorted out talks are going well but this is a massive deal and takes time be patient there are still things to iron out with payment how much up front over how many years etc. Inter Milan will not release him until they have there replacement in for him will not put a date on deal might be Friday maybe next week how quick talks progress tomorrow and Friday but will happen before transfer window closes.
Will be in Manchester Friday going to speak to some people at club if nothing by then i work there that's all i will say.
