Not a regular poster but do make irregular contributions if something sounds worthy.
Firstly I have heard similar rumours to the Sneijder ones I've been reading, but from what I'm told the fee is closer to 26m than higher estimates. That is for reasons I don't fully understand though, and having heard this through a middle man rather than direct source makes me question it.
Secondly if the sneijder deal does happen Fergie will look to bring in Lass Dirra, as a defensively orientated midfielder. This is down to both his likely availability, and heavily due to Fergie wanting a player that can play along side sneijder, without comprising a 4-4-2 setup.
Lastly I'm told De Gea deal is next to finished, and rumours of him being reluctant to leave Spain are wide of the mark, and on the contrary he is desperate for a chance at a top European club, supposedly the rumours are manufactured to try and gain higher wages, as well as a larger agents fee. (seems unlikely in my personal opinion)
Again this is all from an indirect source, and peoples opinions are always welcome, would be interesting to make comparisons.

Sport.co.uk understands FC Istres starlet Florian Lejeune, who has been closely monitored by the Premier League trio of Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal, as well as La Liga giants Real Madrid, will sign for a top five English or Spanish club in the next few days.
First I've heard about him, but he's been touted as the next Laurent Blanc, so he can't be bad!

Bayern Munich increase Neuer bid
Bayern Munich have reportedly increased their offer for Manuel Neuer, a day after admitting they were unlikely to reach agreement with Schalke for the goalkeeper.
The Bavarians' first offer for the Germany number one was a long way short of what Schalke are wanting for the 25-year-old, making Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge sceptical about a deal being reached.
However, Bayern are now believed to have offered around 21 million euros (£18.3million) for the Germany goalkeeper, who becomes a free agent next year. Last month's original offer was thought to be around 18 million euros (£15.7million).
Rummenigge and Bayern managing director Karl Hopfner recently met with Schalke directors Horst Heldt and Peter Peters and Rummenigge admitted to Bild newspaper: "We had a decent conversation."
The Bayern chairman confirmed yesterday the club would definitely be signing a new goalkeeper, with Mainz's Heinz Muller another reported target should they fail with a bid to land Neuer - who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United.

On to rumours, De Gea is number 1 choice as Bayern have officially offered 21m Euros for Neuer. .
Sneijder also on the cards, 30 million offer and 150k wages.
Rodwell deal already signed sealed, 17 million rising dependent upon trophies and apperances.

The Sneijder funds are available and happily many more besides 135mill.
On a positive note Sneijder over the last few weeks was at a European Sport Bash and spoke to Ronaldo and asked about UTD and playing there.
Ronnie gave us a glowing recomendation so the fact that he's asking shows he's interested.

Yes, there are more than just De Gea and Sneijder being worked on.
The one you are saying, I would guess would be Raphael Varane.
You are right in thinking deals are looking to be completed nice and early in the Window.
This is to make sure the new players get settled in, in Manchester and the Club facilities etc. and also so they can be with the current squad for longer than would be usually.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see one or two deals done in the first week and a half.
