I suppose we aren't getting Rodwell in this transfer window, I would have thought we would have offered Everton £15 million + Gibson. Just a thought.

I have read rumors that Ronaldinho is coming back to Europe. What do you think of him as a solution till the end of this season?

Forget what I've said Re: Ravel Morrison the last few days. He's in trouble again apparently alot of the senior players want him out. He'll be sold now I would have thought. Ed, Syd! have you heard similar?

United Till I Die 1987 {Ed007's Note - I'm hearing all sorts of stories about him. I'm not sure what is true and what isn't, sorry mate.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Well 007 from what I've heard United are trying to keep it all from the press so they can sell him to get some money before his reputation is completely tarnished. What a waste of talent, he could have been an absolute star for United in the next 2-3 years.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree2 Disagree3

Alot of stuff flying arround on twitter that morrison nearly got booted out of the club for doing something really bad, not sure what yet...but united only kept him because they didnt want to get the medias attention!

Agree1 Disagree0

Morrison was caught doing the lowest thing possible to team mates? No1 at club trust him and want him out. Blew his chances now? Scum if u ask me
Jay

Agree4 Disagree1

What was he "allegedly" caught doing jay ??

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure ed will let me say on here! Am sure ed knows tbh
Jay {Ed001's Note - I don't think we can post it unfortunately.}

Agree1 Disagree0

I read that he reportedly went into a training session wearing a Manchester City shirt. I find it hard to believe myself and he did supposedly deny it, but it would fit in with this suggestiont that he has done something pretty stupid again.

Agree1 Disagree2

Nothing to do with shirt! I doubt he will be a united player much longer? Surprised by newcastles bid tbh.

Great talent but doubt he will fulfill it?

SAF press conference going to be very interesting 2mora.

With Gibson moving to Everton, will there be any leverage in terms of Barkley coming to us, or is this maybe too soon?

Rudderpost

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Without being biased I watched Utd vs Everton reserves awhile back and Pogba destroyed Barkley... I dont get the hype about him.

Gar

Agree5 Disagree2

@ Gar I watched the same game and yes Pogba had him in his pocket, but that's one game. Ross Barkley is a great prospect, haven't heard anything about him coming to United though if we get any Everton player you all know who it will be.................. Rodwell

United Till I Die 1987

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah thats fair enough, but if we have great prospects for that position anyways, im not sure he would be worth buying. I would be disappointed if we did get Rodwell tbh. I'd rather Howard with his proven goalscoring ability ;)

Darron Gibson has left United for Everton for £1.5-£2 million. Good business by United considering he only had six months left on his contract. Could have quite easily ran his contract down until the summer to get a better deal and signing on fee's somewhere else. Good Luck Gibbo.

United Till I Die 1987

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Forgot to mention, medical done and passed. Should be announced tomorrow PM.

United Till I Die 1987

Only thing I dislike about this, is our depleted squad is now down another 2 members - Gibbo permanently out, Macheda out on loan.

We're struggling for numbers as it is, what the hell is going on?!

We need to make a signing, badly, but its not gonna happen.

we need to sell dat donkey ferdinand & buy a top class young centre half. someone like gary cahill only better

Believable8 Unbelievable13

I think he was offered and united turned him down

Agree1 Disagree4

Agree Ferdinand Is getting very suspect at the back lately. I wouldn't mind Hummels from Dortmund, classy CB although I don't think United are in for him

United Till I Die 1987

Agree5 Disagree2

Unfortunately Rio's injury problems have caught up with him. He's not the player he was in his prime but that's hardly surprising given the nature of some of his injuries. On his day he was arguably the best defender of his time. I certainly wouldn't turn down Hummels or even his partner Nevan Subotic but I think we will most definetly add a centrehalf in the summer.

Bert

Agree5 Disagree0

Man I thought I was the only honest United fan! Rio's my player but he aint as classy and sure footed as he used to be. Still think he has alot to offer.

Agree3 Disagree0

Just because 1 is honest doesn't mean your point of view is correct. Although there is a lot of fans who hate to think their is anything wrong with their club and will rubbish your point of view if its value or not.

Agree3 Disagree0

Thing is do you think Rio is our problem fact is there's way more pressing problems

Pip

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Believable2 Unbelievable1

The Pato deal has fallen through as The deal to take Tevez to AC failed he was set to move to PSG but now has been told he is going to stay.

The Pato deal has fallen through but his point remains. £30M for a 22 year old with bags of potential and bags of talent already. I'm sure that's value in the market. If you look in the right areas you can get the price.

What does everyone think about a bid for Eric Abidal? I read that Aresnal are thinking of bidding just 4 million for him. We need a left back at the moment and with Fryers being probably a year or 2 away from being established does anyone think he would be a good short term solution if we were to sell Evra in the summer and rotate Abidal, Fabio and Fryers?

Rjmanutd

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Abidal isn't staying at Barcelona because they can't agree a wage package. He wants to much money for the Arsenal structure.

Sam

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing is though if he came here would he be on that much more than Evra currently is? Also if it is only going to cost around 4-5 million to get him you are able to afford a little bit more in wages, especially if we sell Evra for around 10m.

Rjmanutd

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont rate abidal he only got played coz barca dont have another left back

Agree3 Disagree0

@ Rjmanutd
We wouldn't get £10 million for Evra, probably £4-5 million tops. Abidal no thanks. Jordi Alba now that's what I'm talking about.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree0 Disagree3

LB is an area SAF will probably we looking strengthing in the near future. Jordi Alba would be a good signing but I like the look of Boilesen (Ajax) or Cissokho (Lyon) and as far as i'm aware SAF is still monitoring Izaguirre (Celtic).

Bert {Ed007's Note - Izaguirre is just back in the team. Utd will be watching him for the rest of the season with a view to a move in the summer if he continues to impress.}

Tottenham could make a £15million move for Brazilian international Ganso in the summer.

Manchester United were thought to be closest of interested English clubs to sign the 22-year-old, as Sir Alex Ferguson searches for a creative injection into his midfield.

is reporting that the player’s club Santos have offered him to Spurs and chairman Daniel Levy is interested – news which could entice a move from Old Trafford.

Swap this dude for anderson.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Anderson is brilliant when he's on form

When he is allowed to play in his natural position he will shine.

J-RED

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Why wont Ravel sign the contract? is it the contract offer that he doesnt like? or does he think he should be further along in his development or closer to the 1st team?

Lads, just a thought and apologise if already mentioned but if the Gibson deal goes through to Everton then this would open up a space in the squad? Now we tried to sell him in the summer and it fell through so maybe SAF felt he needed to be involved and play some games to stay in the window for potential buyers. So my point is (finally) SAF could well of had Pogba earmarked for Gibson's spot in the squad in the summer but unfortunately didn't materialise but with him potentially leaving this window, Pogba could now get his chance and hence why SAF hasn't rushed him in and why Pogba himself has never come out and said anything?!
Just a theory though? What's your thoughts?

Ports

Believable3 Unbelievable3

That is supposing that he isn't happy to sit collecting his wages

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba does not need to be named in the squad as he is under 21 and that go's for all our under 21 players.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah I appreciate the under 21 shout but in terms of number of players for each position then there is a spot in the "pecking order" if you like for Pogba!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

We never really stood any chance of hijacking the deal should be done by weekend

Agree1 Disagree1

Is he not looking for crazy money and Chelsea refuse to pay him it ?

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree1

All the talk is that Gary Cahill wants a big signing on fee and a big contract (partly becuase the fee is relatively low) and Chelsea don't want to match his demands. It has also been said that he is settled in the north of the country and would like to stay where he is - with Man United being his first choice for a move. His agent apparently contacted United over a possible move and was told that United had no interest.

So, basically, it is being held up because Cahill won't put pen to paper (he may have done by the time this gets published though!)

Let me put things straight so that peole know exactly what is going on with Ravel Morrison. Once again Ravel did not turn up for training yesterday much to the annoyance of Warren Joyce and the Boss. He has not been transfer listed, but he has yet to be offered a new deal. All the big clubs in Eurpope are circling like vultures for a player who is without doubt one of the most talented of his generation. (I know for a fact that City have told him whatever United offer, they will trebble.) All this attention is having a negative effect on Ravel who just needs to get his head down and show the world how special he is. But on the other hand you have to ask yourself if you are Ravel or Pogba and you see Paul Scholes come out of retirement and immediately get half a game how are you going to believe that the manager has confidence in you. The position is very finely ballanced and as you can imagine and I think I speak for Sydney as well here as we have both been singing the kids praises now for a couple of years. It would be a major tragedy if we let him go. It is a very big decision for Fergie to make and I know how highly he rates the lad and how much support he has given him. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Couldn't agree more - loved Scholes in the day but surely if Morrison and Pogba are as good as we all hope Fergie needs to use them - maybe against City is a risk but then in the Blackburn game we have Valencia in Defence and Rafael in Midfield - that would make me scratch my head even more!

Agree10 Disagree6

Totally agree with you RFT first these kids see Gibson getting games ahead of them then they see Scholes after 2 training sessions getting more game time then either of them have got all season.

Devil Dust.

Agree9 Disagree5

I have heard the same this morning except the bit that he is not up for sale, Ravel's camp believe he COULD be up for sale, this of course could be to scare him into getting his act together? He does need to get his priorities right. SAF needs to either include him more in the first team or move him away from Manchester on loan. It's a difficult position SAF is in because he knows Ravel would behave if he had first team footy, but he knows he cannot reward players for misbehaving. I guess we will have to just wait and see and keep our fingers crossed. He is holding talks with someone today so perhaps we will know a lot more by the end of the day?

Sydney!

Agree5 Disagree3

What's going to happen with him? Will he leave? RFT? Ed? Sydney? If he is that good why doesn't he get some game-time? same with Pogba. Your points are valid RFT about Scholes, and no.namer about Raphael, so what's SAF's thinking?

J Bones. {Ed007's Note - I don't know Bones but RFT is spot on with saying about him missing training etc. I will be disappointed if he leaves as I have been looking forward to seeing Morrison after hearing the way Syd, RFT and others, who know more about the youth than me, rave about him.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Wasn't Morrison recently come back from injury? I was under the impression he wasn't available for the games you've mentioned.
Dingle.

Agree1 Disagree1

One thing I am certain is that he wont be getting any game time if he goes to any other big club. If he joins some smaller club ( except City) he might get more game time. If he goes to Barca then he would be playing for Barca B which is a step up from the reserves.

Agree1 Disagree2

People keep saying give him game time but it's a lot easier said than done. Fergie has never chucked totally inexperienced players into the first team, I doubt he ever will either. The step up from the reserves to the first team is huge. Ideally I'd send him out on loan but I don't think Fergie will. With Gibson gone hopefully both Morrison and Pogba will be on the bench regularly and will eventually get a chance in the second half of the season.

@Sydney!

How do you know he is holding talks with someone?

rpc

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people are saying that if he behaves like that and wants to go then let him go. My response to that would be to warn people that if we let him go, it would almost certainly come back to bite us on the ar5e in a few years. I would hate for the lad to set the world alight elsewhere so as someone said earlier, he should be given atleast 1 more chance. Talent like his doesnt come along every day.

TK-Red

Agree3 Disagree4

'rpc'

I was told we could find out more later today, so I am assuming he has a meeting with the club or something? Perhaps I am being a little presumptuous?

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree2

United are in a total mess with these contract disputes, Rooney was 17 when he broke into the England squad so if the players are good enough and want to play Fergie should give them a game, they cant do any worse than Anderson and Carrick at the moment and if it works out it will make up for our lack of funds, simple as that.

Flimbo

Agree4 Disagree2

Put it this way. Gibbo plays along side both Pogba and Ravel in reserve games. There is only one who regularly doesn't shine or make any real telling contribution and thats Gibbo. Then on matchday there is only 1 of those 3 who has started some games and unfortunately that too was Gibbo. Shop window? Everyone knows what he is like so there is no reason we should be holding the likes of Pogba and Ravel back while 'showcasing' Gibbo's rather limited talents. They are both elite players of their agegroup and if looking around can see Rooney, Balotelli, Messi, Ronaldo, Goetze, Ericksson, etc etc all starting for their clubs at around 18 then they themselves must be wondering why the case isn't the same for them. Especially with Scholes having retired and us having to use Giggs, Park, Toni, Rafa etc in CM instead.

SAF has played this totally the wrong way and will be sat at home having retired while watching these 2 destroy Utd in a couple of years thinking 'Should I have dealt with this differently?'

I am thinking,,, Yes!

Jono

Agree3 Disagree3

I can see both sides of the arguement but to me the "Can't play Morrison because of not turning up for training" so he can't play would be more within SAF's psyche.
Lets be fair the kids an idiot, he needs to suck it up and graft get his head down otherwise he will booted out on his arsenal.
Remember when George Best used to do the same stuff he was out in the end sad but that could destroy Morrison as an exceptional talent

Pardoe

Agree2 Disagree0

Nice one Ed but my word was still better than yours. Apologies mate

Pardoe {Ed007's Note - I didn't know what it was lol I had to Google it! I thought it best not too, no worries Pardoe.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone from the club could really do with letting the fans know whats going on as there are to many of these stories coming out atm dont understand saf,s reluctance to give these kids a chance as he never had a problem playing youngsters in the past i get the feeling something is going on and fergie,s hands are tied just dont know what but all this with rav and pogba plus the lack of strengthening midfield is very un fergie like he usually see,s that everything is done in amore proffessional manner i,m begining to think rft may be right in his summation of the state of the club and until the club prove different by addressing both problems the morepeople will start to believe rft,s assesment
Onecut

Agree1 Disagree0

To be fair SAF has always said 19/20 is the age he likes to see players break through, he has already said that Pogba & Morrison will be even younger again, so I fully expect to see both players playing regularly in a years time, but only if they are both contracted to the club long-term.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

Syd you told us only the other day that ravel was definitely not leaving.

I can only give my opinion 'no name', I still think he will stay, but unless I am Ravel then how can I be sure? Not even Ravel will be 100% sure what's happening so how would I know?

Reports coming out of Germany are that Man Utd are looking at young Borussia Munchengladbach defensive midfielder Havard Nordtveit. (As a youngerster Nordtveit previously played for Arsenal). His recent form that has spiked Man Utd’s interest a defensive midfielder the 21 year old not only fits the bill but is also considered a very long term asset.

It would be very ironic that Man Utd’s defensive midfield problems are solved with a player that was previously with Arsenal in a position that The Gunners are now weak in.

No fee was mentioned but a figure in the region of £5 Million is thought be enough to tempt the Germans to cash in.

FC Basel ace Xherdan Shaqiri is a target for Newcastle United.

Shaqiri, who impressed as his Swiss side knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League last month, is on Newcastle's radar.

I know Shaqiri might not be a target for us, but it'd be another example of another team taking the gamble on a player who could have made a major difference for us.
