Now I do come up with crazy posts to see what reaction! But some on here got Utd after after 4/5 players totalling abou 120m!wakey wakey utd aint got it!500m as gone out club thru glazers! Fergie will be allowed one top signing upto 35m the rest be cheap option be lucky if he's got 50m! Stop dreaming Utd money glazers have killed! Remem the fergie glazers good for Utd, our squads good enough,no value u market!pure cover up for no cash&now its caught up,Squad so weak in quality! Europe embarrasing! Its harsh but true Utd may need 3/4 years of nothing to get rid of Glazers!

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Wtf are you, nothing like logging on with no name

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow! Some sense at last. One 30/35m signing and a 20m player I'd say. Kagawa 7m and Clyne 2m. We got 60m tops.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are both overlooking the fact that players will be sold or the possibilty of some very interesting swap deals that could involve anderson and nani and most importantly will you stop assuming we will not spend money, You make it clear that the Glazers won't back SAF but you overllok one thing they know that no success on the pitch is the biggest dagger to their heart and why I am convinced they will spend this summer to stop City doing what they want

does anyone know if we sent scouts to watch nick powell in the league play offs today ?

Why? Do you think we play in the championship ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Unnamed poster , Powell is a player with great potential. He is considered to be the next Gerrard and has won every player award at Crewe the only player to have done and all whilst he's 18. Just because he plays in league one it doesn't mean he cannot become a wonderful player in the future.

Just to back up my claim about United being highly likely to sign Kagawa this summer, Fergie and Phelan are both in attendance at the German Cup Final between Dortmund and Bayern. Perhaps watching Hummels also? Quality player!

UNITED_LEGENDS

Believable16 Unbelievable0

Kagawa hmm yes but hummels :/ idk.Hope he signs both kagawa and iker munain

Agree0 Disagree0

You wasn't the first person to say United was going to sign Kagawa. Just saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa aside, Hummels is a great defender, good on the ball too good passer! Shocked me a little when he took the penalty but isn't the first time that's happened. Think he'd be a good buy for anyone but because of that reason you'll need more £££ than you can fit in a brief case.

Ozwald

I didn't say I was! lol, just that my friend who works for sky sports news told me we most likely will! x

Shame Gotze is still coming back from injury and was only on the bench rather fergie had seen him play than Kagawa.

Twitter has us interested in Kagawa and luwendowski (SP)

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I rate Subotic much higher then hummels, I have said it time and again id love if he joined us and it would be out of no-where, If united Signed Kagawa and Subotic this summer id be very happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in Kagawa this past few months. Kagawa says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down. Reinhard Rauball has made it clear that there still hasn't been contact with Dortmund from another club although interest from Manchester United is increasing. I would not be surprised to see him stay at Dortmund if he cannot get the move he wants.}

SAF is at the German final watching Kagawa, just seen it with my own eyes. looks promising

Believable20 Unbelievable3

If he went to see Kagawa then the deal will happen after his first half performance alone.Scored one and made another with something we miss a sublime defence splitting pass to their striker.Looks a bargain at the reported fees.A player we need.

Ed002 would things work in a similar manner to this at Manchester United? Lets say hypothetically Manchester United want a left winger/CAM and the shortlist SAF has is:

Hazard / Gaitan / Sanchez / Oezil / Robben / Bale / Costa

First of all he needs to find out who's available, so after speaking to agents and seeing who's available the remaining list looks like this:

Hazard / Gaitan / Costa

Then the manager will look at who ticks the most boxes and say for example it's Hazard, unofficially we will make Hazard an offer via his agent. Other clubs would do the same, so it will come down to who offers the most. But City could say what ever United offer we will beat it by 20%. That spells the end of the Hazard idea. United move on and the list looks like this:

Gaitan / Costa

Then Gaitan ticks the most boxes, he wants the United move and is happy with the personal terms offered. Then it's time to do a deal with Benfica. I think we could be at this stage now personally. I think Fabio could be part of the deal and perhaps Anderson will go in the other direction with some cash? I don't know, but I think this is pretty close to how things could work. Of course a lot of times clubs will agree a price with the other club before talking to the player's agent, but it's rare nowadays when concerning the bigger clubs isn't it? Does it work similar to that at United?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Kagawa is buying his ticket to Old Trafford as I type. Playing feel in front of Sir and scored a goal as well as a superb defence splitting pass for Dortmund's third. he will fit well...

Steveytrader

Agree0 Disagree0

'Stevey'

He is exactly what we have been missing from central midfield.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesnt play in midfield he plays behind the striker good player but not the answer in midfield,if we played him there we would ruin him i.e anderson/veron.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not midfield? You mong, he's an attacking midfielder not a blimmin' forward! Yeah we might have to change our formation a bit but i think that's likely to happen next season..

Thing is, he is one of those players that just know how to play the game no matter where they are on the pitch so theoretically speaking he could still play deeper than where he does at the moment. However he can't really tackle and due to his stature i don't think that'll ever be a feature of his.. None the less a superb talent, we should all keep our fingers crossed that we sign him!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Berbatov was signed to play just behind the striker like our King Eric and he is leaving this summer. Kagawa would be a different type of second striker, but perhaps one that will suit our style of play more than Berbatov did. Quick and very fluid. To be fair even Cantona wouldn't have fit into the style our manager wants to play. Kagawa would fit nicely IMO.

Nathana Se7en

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont tease me now...a straight swap Kagawa for Berba would be a mouthwatering deal bearing in mind Berba has made only 5 league starts for us all season and Kagawa is a great prospect!

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

He is earning himself a transfer with this performance. That pass for the third goal is exactly what we miss and was sublime!!

Steveytrader

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly not only his goal, but all game he's fantastic at making the right passes and perfectly weighted whether its the inside or the outside of his boot. He's been at it all season.. I've always said he's an underrated talent only does everyone bum him when United have a lot of interest in him! sigh

Hi, new to the site.
Can I just ask why a lot of people seem to want a LM, when we have both Young and Nani in that position. I assume that's where Hazard would play if we got him (which I don't think we will). I know Nani is not the most consistent but not to the point where he should be shipped out imo. Personally, i think the perfect summer in terms of players coming in would be:
RB e.g. Clyne (probably done) squad player
LB/CB e.g. not sure, someone who can cover Evra but also step ahead of him if his poor form continues next season (possibly Baines?)
CM e.g. Martinez is the absolute dream, we really have to go all out for him - plus he can also cover CB if needed.
AM e.g. Kagawa, i think this will happen makes sense for both parties.
ST e.g. if Berba, Owen maybe Macheda leave we need someone for cover, possibly a young guy like Henriquez. It all depends whether we employ a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1. Personally i would go for the latter with Kagawa behind Rooney, certainly against the big teams.

I reckon that would cost around 60m? not including money gained from outgoings (of which there will be a few). As a top club we should be capable of that, but alas we never do what the fans want in the transfer market.

SqueakyBum

Believable19 Unbelievable0

Eden hazard can play anywhere across the front,he will be an absolutely brilliant player for someone, exactly the type of player we should be signing along with martinez but we wont,if he goes to city the gap will get wider and kagawa and clyne will not close that gap.
Ste73

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that LW should be far from our main priority as things stand. If we can bring in a top player for the middle of the park (Martinez?M'Villa?Modric?Eriksen?), a decent LB and a few extra bonuses like Clyne, Kagawa, Young Striker I will be happy

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem with nani is exactly what happened against city last time he destroyed clichey this time he did nothing in fact worse than nothing
Striker we need a proper one we already have 2 young strikers and all that has done is leave rooney to carry the goalscoring on his own, we need a higuine (sp)
We need the finished article up front

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

I think most know my position on Nani, my rationale is that we could get a good fee which could be put towards someone more consistent. I have said before that we a little too hung up on two wingers as that relies on two strong central midfielders which in too many games are overrun when teams play three centrally. Swapping Nani for someone more consistent has to be a good option

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everyone still think we need young players we have them we need player who are already proven therefore
cm i agree javi martinez
winger - ribery?

Apparently one of our top targets was: Mateo Kovacic he was the player the Glazers never gave Fergie £10m in January for. I bet fergie still has an interest...

Believable13 Unbelievable0

If fergie wanted him he'd have got the money

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't he out of contract at the end of the season? If so he would be ours for a ' training and development fee', which would be considerably less than £10million which would just be sensible business in my view.

I would guess that our summer signings will be Clyne, Willems & Powell for the squad + Kagawa & 1 other for the 1st team.
20 Rising

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Jetro Willems is good friends with that Belgian/Brazilian kid Periera we bought from PSV. Could be a good move as we need a left back for the future. Both are/were highly rated with PSV and we seem to have a good relationship with them. Clyne is pretty much a done deal as I work in London a fair bit and it's always mentioned in papers and so so.
This Powell lad we seem to have left it a bit late. Spurs & a few others may have got the dibs on him. I think we were hoping Pogba would stay and that's why we are watching Powell now.

Agree0 Disagree0

If thats the case then we wont win a trophy next season! Whilst our rivals buy world class proves talents, we will be shopping at the pound store

Agree0 Disagree0

I was listing the bargain basement players who I think SAF will go for. I would like to think there will be 1 more marquee signing as well.

man utd are in talks with juventus about a £22m move for claudio marchisio.....
christian eriksen is also a major target for us bt it is unlikely cz eriksen wants to stay at ajax for another season....
kagawa will join as the replacement for park
we are also looking at the possibilty to sign leandro damiao who could cost around £20m or fernando lorente who could cost around £22m

the price of eden hazard is around £25m nt £30-35m.....fk17

Believable4 Unbelievable19

Surely the price of Hazard is whatever someone is willing to pay? We may very well offer £25mil but if The Massive offer £35mil, then you could say the price of Hazard is £35mil.
Which is invariably what will happen. Supposing we bid for him in the first place.

Bob

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa is hardly a replacement for Park....so he is joining to sit on the bench? Do ppl keep making this assumption because they are both Asian? Other than that they are entirely different type players!

clyne is more or less finalised will be announced next couple of weeks. Kagawa is 50/50 makes his decision after german cup. More likely tomorrow. Should be announced what he's doing next week. Mort

Believable19 Unbelievable1

I'm glad this post is a load of lies coz I'd be gutted if it was true

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually its 95% true. Why would you be gutted? Mort.

Agree0 Disagree0

Which 5% of it is not true?

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be gutted because I think clyne is nowhere near utd class and kagawa is another squad player, I want proven quality , clyne is not better than any of our reserve team and kagawa is ok in a poor league , we're now competing against a team of world class players throughout the squad , we need a few mixed with out homegrown to match up

Agree0 Disagree0

The bundesliga one of the most competitive and high quality leagues in europe its not an @average league@

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Gav things do sometimes go wrong with transfers, Arsenal have recently been linked with Kagawa as well, so you neevr know but i am confident in the deal happening.

Nameless bloke Kagawa wouldn;t be a squaddie as such he'd be in the 11 most games, and his perfeomence so far in the german cup final is showing why he would be a good signing and he's looking like quality.

As for saying the German league is a poor league have you ever watched any of it? Bayern beat the might of Madrid to reach the champions league final and Bayern are not a shabby team, so you look a bit silly right now.

As for Clyne, well people were saying similar about Smalling so I think i'll give the lad a chance.

Mort.

Agree0 Disagree0

No nobody said anything about smalling as he hadn't played much to judge at premiership level , everyone was surprised how good he was , clyne has proved after all his games he's a championship player , the German league is poor , on a one off game anyone can win , Porto did the same a while ago doesn't make them anything . Kagawa will not improve our first team one bit {Ed004's Note - Dortmund have won the last 4 one of games vs Bayern. Surely that is a coincidence.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow! Kagawa plays in a weak league? The Bundasleaga (spelling) is probably as strong, if not stronger than the EPL. Kagawa would be a good deal for 20 million, let alone 5-10 million as reported. I think this guy hasn't been looking at Dortmund or Kagawa. Kagawa would be a great signing for us and leave some money for a ball winning midfielder. Could it be that being Japanese isn't as fashionable, or marquee enough for a footballer!~pretend he's Spanish or Brazilian.remember 7 or 8 years ago Belgians were consider weak footballers! Now everyone wants a Belgium.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Nameless guy you really are talking nonsense.

I remember a few people were not sure on Smalling because he'd only been at Fulham for a season and a bit after coming from nonleague.

"Clyne has proved after all his games he's a championship player" How does this make sense? He's only played in Championship and cup games, doesn't mean he's not good enough for the prem. Especially when you say about Smalling "he hadn't played much to judge at premiership level" so then isn't that the same as Clyne? We wont know unless he's given the chance.

The German league is poor, well i suggest you know Jack about football as according to Uefa its in the top3 leagues along with Spain and England.

And Kagawa would improve the team no end as we would actually have someone behind the strikers who can make a forward pass. Mort.

There are so many people on here that get caught up on YouTube clips & Video games and get lost in reality.

WE WON'T BE SPENDING ANYTHING CLOSE TO 100m

We will not have a massive turn around with 10 in & 10 out.
Okay the deadwood and the walking wounded will probably be sent packing.

Fergie & Gill have mentioned 3 PLAYERS.......
So who will those 3 players be?

Gaitan - there seems to be interest, United are willing to pay 18/23m only for him. Now other clubs are showing interest I think we'll lose him. (no)

Kagawa - United have been following him for 2 seasons.
Could strike a deal with Berbatov heading to Germany. (yes)

Hazard - are United really in for him? With a buy out clause of 32m and he's been spotted at City twice. (no)

Debuchy - I think Fergie was actually watching this guy not Hazard. Can play RB and DM so could come in handy at 10m. I think if Clyne comes in for 1m this interest will also drop. (maybe)

Sneijder or Modric - one will not drop his wage demands & the others owner drives a very hard bargain (no & no)

Javi Martinez - unproven in the Prem, plus he's going with Spain in the Euros so he will be well scouted and out priced.
(no)

Clyne - comfortable at RB & LB (yes)

Angelo Henriquez CF (yes)

That would be a particularly modest summer! I dont think we need to spend anywhere near £100m but those 3 would barely improve our starting XI from day one (which is what we need imo)

Forget about buying more youngsters and players with potential we gave enough of them, we've had a season where weve been hit with injuries and missing legends who's retired who had an impact in the dressing room, vds, Neville, Scholes you can't replace the impact they had on the morale of the team when most needed during a game.

Our season will look like a disaster as it will be trophy less. But as I see it te young ones have gained experience at the top level and know what it feels like to challenge for a title.

We only need 3-4 world class players and were sorted!

we all know the main area we need to improve is in the centre. My ideal 2 choices would be,

SNIDJER - the guy is class regardless of what his season has been like this year, class is perminant, and we would easily get him for around 18-25 million.

KAGAWA - different opinions on this guy, but at 24 he is class regardless of what people say, his passing is amazing and his vision is top notch something we've been lackin this year, and for 7-12 million he's worth every penny!

STRIKER - everybody can see without rooney where would the goals come from? half the time Rooney is playing deep, welbeck and Hernandez are good but they need further development. personally I would go for HIGUEN (spelling) before his injury he was scoring goals for fun and with Madrid apparently interested in Teves, where does he stand?..

Or as a few other people have said what about villa? Yeah he's 30 but with Owen and berbatov looking to leave there's only really Rooney whos experienced enough to help the likes of welbeck and Hernandez and for 15-20 million. He will score goals there's no doubt about that the guy is still one of the best goal scorers out there, easily get 3 good season from him.

Another striker I like is Defoe hardly plays for spurs 29 but still scored 35 in 88 since joining spurs and for around 8 million would be a steel to back up Rooney!

I would love to see hazard but weather or not we place an offer is another thing 35 million is what you have to pay nowadays for class, but fergie doesn't belive in value in the market! And that's why teams around us will keep strengthening and we will rely on "HOPE" that the players we buy for 7 million turn into class players.

All views and opinions welcome :)

LUHG

Believable8 Unbelievable10

3-4 world class players? Do world class players just fall out the sky nowadays? Even city don't buy 4 world class players in a season!!! The only world class player we have is rooney and I guess Vidic before his injury!

It is not often that a teenager turns his back on an offer from Manchester United. That too, to join Juventus, given that the Italian giants have been struggling in recent years.

However, that’s exactly what Paul Pogba has done.

The player that was being touted as United’s future Patrick Viera has turned down a lucrative contract at Old Trafford to join the Italian outfit.

His decision was made known in a letter from his agent Mino Raiola to United chief executive David Gill, but there has been no contact between Pogba, 19, and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

An u no how no namer ?

Dio

Agree0 Disagree0

Juventus are really struggling now aren't they've got one game left to not lose for an unbeaten season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact of the matter is, he will be leaving and for that i announce he's a moron.

We know money wasn't an issue for him, maybe for his agent which could have had a major influence. But i understand that he was concerned with the amount of guaranteed first team football next year. So even though nothing could be guaranteed for him at United, a place in our team has become available for a player just like him. At Juventus they have Vidal who hasn't been there long, Marchisio and also Pirlo?! I mean who cares what is or isn't guaranteed, which one looks more realistic for him to play top football regularly? It'll be a similar case to Ravel Morrison, went to West Ham and has been playing in their reserves.. Have fun doing the same Paul!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I wont brand him person for not choosing us. Agent will surely get a bigger bite if Pogba chooses Juve but I think Juve is offering more then money, I m certain he will make his decision on that. And u have to remember they have the best season after long time they r wat they use to be, and for him would he stay at a team where old wingers r deployed as mid and retired( i have highest of admiration for Scholes) who just came back. Or even a CB deployed in his position(jones). I suppose thats why he is having second thoughts. But i guess that is good thing becoz now Saf would see the need to give him more game time or let potentially next Patrick Viera which we dearly need go!
And just to clearlify Morrison wasnt given a contract so they is no question of weather he choose money or game time. I know he is issues outside the pitch, but when that boy is on pitch u can see he is absolute gem of player. Game against Liverpool Res( was it quater or semi final). Pogba got sent off, but who was there , with maturity and class he won us the game! Infact last year we had Ravel, Pogba and Tunnicliffe who can boss any midfield not only that the way we player was like barcelona(complete domination of position in opposing half but we were even able to counter attack!. Look at this years res final agaisnt Aston Villa, we lake the flare that force, luckily Sam Johnson is class and safe 3 penalty. Well I hope Ravel can come back and I very much hope Pogba stays!

Pogba's a kid who may be a future star, or he may just be another player, playing in an average to low league,(Holland or France), for an average team. One things for sure, he won't get much first team action at Juventus next season. We haven't lost much, because outside the reserves, his tiny time in the first team was average. If he doesn't want to play for the shirt, he doesn't exist in my mind. Another kid making money for his agent, without the brains to see the opportunity he had.

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Brazilian midfielder Anderson came close to leaving the club last summer.
Anderson, 24, was reportedly unhappy about a lack of playing time and Ferguson today confirmed that the midfielder had concerns.

"When he does understand that, he will be a fantastic player here but last season he was talking about leaving because he was not playing in every game," he said.

He is not the only one concerned about playing time, hes always bleedin injured. MIDDLETON RED

Sounds to me like it is a public plea to get him to stay as it is likely he will be moving on it hasn't worked for him in England

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish SAF would play him in his natural position, as an attacking midfielder, then we would see that he is actually a great player

Agree0 Disagree0

Anderson, when not injured, is not very good at the attacking midfielder role. He can't shoot, has very few goals and assists has only one usable foot, has not fulfilled his potential and is fat. I hope we get shot of him.

we will be mad to let him go!!

It will be a loan deal... similar to William Keane's touted move to Middlesborough, should be announced at the end of the current campaign. (Will only be a short loan move though till January)
