Lot of talk about Erikesn on here I see, but he has made his prefernce for Spain known which is a great shame as he is an exceptional talent. We went for him last Jan as part of the Suarez move but it was a non starter and he refused City to play in Spain so I cant see it happening. Also would you want someone who has a desire to play in Spain and if they come in for him whilst hes at your club hed want to leave? I personally think Madrid beckons if Oezil leaves so mabye he'd be the better bet to move to you.

Oezil would be my ideal signing...along with Modric, how ever both are unlikely. If some one has got one eye on Spain in the future id rather not have them at the club i think.

If Martinez is unavailable and we want a big strong central midfielder, then how do people feel about Fellaini? He might not be bad for us i think..

RedDevil19

Believable6 Unbelievable17

Not a chance, Fellaini is by no means a player that you can win a title off the back of him in midfield. He is a good player but by no means at all good enough for us.

JS RED

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with 19, he's a fantastic player. He's young, athletic and fantastically talented. Twice the player Rodwell is. He could really become a fantastic player at United, and no settling in problems. I've thought about him for a while but been reluctant to mention it in the belief that it was only me that saw it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand the consistent fixation on Fellaini. He's not a guaranteed starter for a midlevel club. How does he do anything for us besides providing depth, which we have in spades. He doesn't add quality and doesn't improve our best XI. Long term we have Cleverly, Anderson and Pogba, maybe Fletcher. We need another young star like Eriksen, Ganso, etc. Otherwise, whats the purpose? Just my opinion....-KG

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellani is a very underated player he,s a handful for most teams scores a few and is very good in the air.he breaks up a lot of the oppositions play but my worry would be his discaplinery record well inti double figures on yellows each season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cany have someone with a haircut like that in a utd shirt sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

I brought up Fellaini not to be a consistent starter, however he is very effective when we need a midfield presence, like Yaya Toure is for City. I don't think he'd be a regular, more like an Ashley Young sort of player for us - not first team, but very good.

we are linked with xhaka in today's press.probably there is not a lot to it but he played well when we played basel.would come on cheap too.15 mil at the max.

red devil for life

Believable2 Unbelievable10

He will cost £7m maximum my friend, that is why we should be buying him.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

£15 million max- 10 million at the absolute max

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it not reported he had a medical at bayern munich ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its beyond me how anyone can say they no the exact price or max, its pure speculation on your behalf unless your within the clubs concerned you do not know period.

Agree0 Disagree0

Xhaka’s contract with Basle runs until June 2014, with an escape clause of £3.5million. according to the people

whether that is true or not I don't know, and theres no way of us knowing unless someone here has actually seen his contract with their own eyes, but the people is not exactly a reliable source so its more than likely to be false

but considering they sold shaqiri for 10 million euros you would expect to pay no more than that for his team m8.

We are all in agreement that we need a central midfielder and a full back/versatile defender. A CB would of been on the list but i think Veseli might come good in that position.

I'm not saying i want this or anything, but i'm thinking if money is tight for someone like an Eriksen, then i think we could do a double deal with Dinamo for Kovacic and Vrjsalko (sp?). Both are excellent players, Kovacic i believe is 17 and Vrjsalko is 19 going on 20. They both fit in with our youth policy system.

I'd also like to say that expect to see a bid in for Alvaro Vadillo in summer and potentially Erick Torres if we can manage to get a work permit. I think youth is going to be the way we carry on to do things.

RedDevil19

Kovacic is a new one, dont think you have mentioned him before!

Ed, any chance of us signing erikson? do you think we will? {Ed002's Note - Maybe but the summer is a long way off. Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office told me he had heard of interest from Manchester United and that may well be the case. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain.}

It'd be great if United sign Podolski.
With Berbatov out next season.
He, welbeck, rooney and chicharito would be great.
Also he could do the job on the left wing or even play on the left in a 3 pronged attack.
Sell berba for 8-9m. Buy him for 15m.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Sounds good in theory...great left foot, good finisher, decent age and value for money...not sure he'd be willing to come and be used in rotation though which would be my concern. with wellbeck & hernandez doing so well he wouldnt necessarily be 1st choice until/unless he proved his worth

Gav

FAT chance he is going Arsenal. We will sign Erriksen and Wilfried Zaha

Just looking at SAF's interview in which he mentioned Eriksen yesterday, i think he is doing down our interest a bit. I think our interest is big and i think the double header against Ajax will give us a good chance to watch him, if he performs well then i think their is a big possibility that he will come in in the summer.

His name is probably on the list along with Gaitan, Martinez etc. Eriksen or Gaitan is the most likely candidate if we are to sign a midfielder in summer. Modric will probably be too expensive, Hazard unlikely, so i think hoping for Eriksen would be of interest.

RedDevil19

Believable11 Unbelievable1

My dream would be for Martinez, Eriksen & Hazard... but unless we get brought out this will never happen..

any of the mentioned players would be a great signing though.....

we have to wait and see.

Would love Eriksen at utd. sod all the flavour of the months we see thrown about on here hes been the 1 for me all year. cannot wait to get to amsterdam for this thursday atmosphere should be amazing 4-0 utd i reckon

MARK85

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be more than happy to get eriksen as he has great potential and a good all round game but i am not too sure if he would want to come to us given the rumoured interest from madrid.

dags

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy Gaitan, Errikson, Martinez and sale barba, Park and Nani

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we are getting a bit wishful here guys, we would only sign one player of this magnitude. I think a decent midfielder and a left back is crucial.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think at best and the price was reasonable then we could get two, maybe Eriksen and Muniain? Who knows. I think they are both in our sights long term.

hey guys...
Jst heard that manutd are intrested in bayern.L mid fielder M.ballack for 15 mlp

Thats grt Ed's/syD?
What say u both..hmm. {Ed002's Note - I don't know what currency "mlp" are but I rather doubt Manchester United will be paying £15M for Michael Ballack. My understanding is that the plan is that he will move to the United States unless a particularly attractive offer arrives from China or the Middle East.}

Believable1 Unbelievable15

Wouldn't even have him on a free as he would want high wages, pretty much nothing in this rumor, and he will as ED said get offers from elsewhere, he will get a nice little retirement pot but not from us

Dan S

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably meant to be 15 million pounds but I reckon more realistically the currency stands for 15 millilitres of petrol or My little Pony's, (as he is pony)

Can ed or anyone else confirm wether we have a deal with Porto for iturbe? When he moved it was reported he was placed with them because he wouldn't of got a work permit.
Could there be any deals in place for any of their other young players or anyone else's for that matter? Rodriguez, Guarin, Fernando?
We took Anderson from them maybe in similar circumstances.

Supasub {Ed002's Note - There is nothing formal in terms of a deal with Porto for Iturbe. There is certainly no deal for the likes of Fernando or Guarin.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Isn't Guarin off to Inter or Juve in the summer? Going for a relatively small fee i saw. I think we're definitely looking over Iturbe to see how he gets on, but how many other clubs would be doing the same? He is the kind of youngster we'd bring in, being at Porto should benefit us slightly because of the the past transfers

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Inter have Guarin on loan with an option to buy, he will more than likely be an Inter player next season

always rated him though, followed his career since he was about 18

Dan S

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Ozwald

we have a good relationship with clubs in Portugal.

Iturbe looks a decent prospect certainly would be a nice addition
