Deal for garay is nearlly done. I kno papers are saying it for weeks but we know it was not final. Next week we may see him sign.

I think we must conced that united simply doesn't have the pull it once did. If we do fail to sign thagio, which I think is most likely now, we will no doubt continue to struggle against big sides. We are in major need of some midfield investment and until we get it I don't see us winning the league or much else. A lot is riding on a few key signings, but I don't see us making any with the thagio close to dead.

Without some more great players we won't attract any. Catch 22?

Ozwald, just trying to work out who as well. lineker's a good shout. there's also mark Hughes and didn't jordi Cruyff go to barca or was that in a parallel universe?

Personally I think Thiago wouldn't fit right here. on the field he's probably just what we need but insisting on a clause that demands he play doesn't sit right with me (and I suspect the powers that be feel the same). Give me players who know they want to be here, not diva's using United as a stepping stone.

Could be Henry, Gudjonsson or Larsson too.

Oh I'm so suprised, I thought this was a done deal and expected him to sign within so many days each week according to many jokers on here with 'apparent contacts'.
Just like Shrootman, should had been here for about a month now lol.

Thiago wouldn't fit because he's a diva who wants to play a lot? Please get real, he's a highly talented young Spaniard who may well be a world star in a year or two. He's moving from Barca to get more first team football, we desperately need someone like him in midfield and we should have agreed to the clause he wanted. I dread seeing us outplayed in midfield, yet again, next season by teams who we should hammer. Sometimes, in life and football, you need to trust your judgement. Really sorry if we've lost him.

It is reported on TV that the deal for Thiago Alcantara has gone through and Bayern have signed him; it is also reported on ESPN that to date, MUFC have not sat down with anyone, including Rooney, to sort out a new contract.

Well, good luck to all those people who don't want to join/stay with MUFC.

Their loss, not ours. I'd rather win nothing than have anyone on board that either doesn't want to be there, or doesn't want to join.

I don't think any player in the Italian league is worth that kind of money. the Italian league is a much lower quality then. Spain England and Germany they need to b realistic with there valuation but in sayin that Madrid r persons when it comes to money they'll probably fork out 50m for him and leave him on the bench. !

Maybe John Rooney, but not Wayne. How exactly would Everton afford his wages? And I suspect that wizard might want to keep playing champions league football.

Have you just woke up from that dream and still believe its true? I do that occasionally, but usually come to my senses before telling anyone lol!

I've been told that thiago will be signing and will join up in Australia. Pep apparently has agreed not to go after any Barcelona players this summer.

Rubbish! With pepe's unhappiness about The Barcelona presidents comments about him not visiting Tito when he was ill and getting treatment in New York I think peep will not be doing them any favours.

He has publicly said that he wants Thiago though

Pep has burnt all his bridges with Barcelona. The only chance we'd have of getting Thiago now is if someone at Barca had a word in his ear and told him if he went to Bayern with Pep now, he'd never be allowed to come back to Barca in the future.
