Lewandowski.

Can any eds here cornfirm interest in this lad.
Or is it just paper talk.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There's interest.}

16 Jul 2015 01:41:29
Well what do you know. Looks like I will have a wet dream tonight after all.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate but I only answered a question, it's a good job you've never seen me!}

16 Jul 2015 02:10:51
Ed007, what a James bond reply! You deserve your name. Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:45:38
Valdes getting sold because apparently he refused to play for the reserves last term is what LVG is saying. Wow! Ruthless! This is the manager Man Utd deserves. No one is bigger than the club. Well done there.

Believable10 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 23:00:49
Agree 100%, no one is bigger than the club, we pay them so they do as they are asked or flump off, and rightly so.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:10:09
He did play for the reserves though.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:24:28
I don't agree with selling him! We need him as back up or to step up

Agree0 Disagree9

15 Jul 2015 23:53:21
Would be nice to get Yann Sommer.

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Jul 2015 07:33:30
Van goal confirms valdes to leave. That does not leave us with many options between the sticks do ya think. Unless he has someone lined up to replace him and possibly ddg. Van gaal he is a secretive sod.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 09:46:41
we still have lindegard on the books don't we? Personally thought he was a decent keeper and needed a run in the team .Only a couple of seasons back there wasnt much between him and De Gea

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:15:28
So do we really need to sign two keepers? How good is Sam Johnstone? I haven't seen him play? Could he have it in him to become our no. 2 ? So we purchase a NEW no. 1? Jan Oblak would be my first choice then Bernd Leno? Yann Sommer is another good option? Before all that comes to fruition is there ANY chance De Gea stays? Or, do we now want him to stay?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:42:02
Valdes being sold Van Gaal just confirmed

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 22:29:31
AC Milan after feilleni for 10m
After the season he had last season I would be holding out for 15-20 tho personally I would keep him he's a real handful got a feeling this means Benteke is on his way

Believable4 Unbelievable2

15 Jul 2015 22:59:02
After the season he had I'd want what we paid for him, he was worth every penny last season for me.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:07:43
I think we should keep fellaini, we need a strong squad of 22 players not just a great starting 11.

Agree5 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:45:32
We should keep him for another season.
Next season if we don't require him or if he wants to leave then we should sell .

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:58:09
Definitely keep after last season. We can use him tactically aswell.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:45:15
Anyone know if this lvg conference at 2230 will on sky?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 20:30:43
I wonder if any of the eds can clear up the situation with Van Persie?
Is he still a United player?
As far as i can see he is still listed on the official wbsite as a first team member, with the rumours about no fee agreed cooould he be recalled by United?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the deal was awaiting a medical the last I heard and all was agreed, if there was a hitch I haven't heard of it, but then I have been out all evening.}

15 Jul 2015 21:00:30
Yeah we know ed, don't rub it in!

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:18:26
I was just wondering why there was no official united statement and loads of articles about fee not agreed

maybe someone else can answer
thanks again

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate, hopefully someone will know, but I will ask now in case no one answer in the meantime.}

15 Jul 2015 13:09:35
Just been told a press conference has been called at OT. ADM/Cavani swap or Otamendi possibly?

Believable1 Unbelievable16

15 Jul 2015 13:21:09
By who? And who would be running the conference? Everyone is in the USA?

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 13:24:58
No Woodward or LVG at OT. who would host a press conference now??? Your source?

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 13:32:24
Who is holding the press conference? The cleaner?

Agree7 Disagree3

15 Jul 2015 14:04:20
He meant Old Trafford the cricket ground.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 14:46:54
Seems a journo on Twitter got a bit excited when someone sent him a photo from OT.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 15:02:53
Well it is a lovely stadium!

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 19:57:30
Turns out there is a press conference only its in Seattle and the purpose is to unveil schmidfield and darmian. For those interested its at 1.30am on MUTV

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 20:07:12
There's a press conference out in the states, LVG with Darmian, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin. Nothing to get your knickers in a twist about.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 20:14:59
Strike that it's 10pm my bad

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 12:49:16
What are the rumours around a centre back, with Ramos, Otamendi and now Savic?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 13:03:03
I'm surprised we haven't been liked with a good 5, 6 or even 7 different centre backs. Surprised the Hummels interest has died down but eventually I reckon we'll get Otamendi(not that that's a bad thing of course).

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 15:59:00
Wha surprised at the hummels interest. He has decided to stick it out for another season at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 17:52:35
I would take Otamendi. Hummels would of been the perfect fit tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 12:39:41
This straight of the Arsenal pages-

Ed002's Note - Ed001 is correct, Lewandowski is available and will move if someone pays the asking price. Arsenal's interest is elsewhere - as I have explained

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 13:22:36
Perfect player for us - I'd be over the moon if we got him! But I don't wanna lose Di Maria.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 15:43:00
Sod Di Maria, his has it in his mind NOT to be at Utd! Let's get Lewandowski. !

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 16:00:07
Sod Di Maria. Give the guy a chance, especially that calibre. Bloody hell

Agree3 Disagree2

15 Jul 2015 16:11:30
So lewandowski is being made available according to Eds are we going for him ?
The price mentioned is not very high for us.

Agree1 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 17:38:28
Why keep an unhappy player? Di Maria wants out, so let's get him out and bring in players who want to be here. I have nothing against ADM, I think he's a very good player, but you do not keep unhappy players especially when there's a club willing to meet somewhere near our valuation. Lewandowski is a player built for MU. I said it years ago when we had an interest, if he's achievable then we must bring him in. Lewandowski and Otamendi will be great signings. If DDG wants out like we all believe he does and he leaves, then go and buy Lloris. Valdes to Turkey, Romero in as number two. I also wouldn't rule out another Bale bid if ADM was sold. let's wait and see, but if ADM wants out, we must sell.

Agree7 Disagree2

15 Jul 2015 11:54:08
alright folks. any1 got any info on nick powell? would like to no where he stands with the club?
cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he is available for sale, he has been guilty of a few attitude issues which have stopped him making the progress he should have. Talent needs application, he has been guilty of a lack of the latter. Shame, but it was probably just a step too far to join United that early, he should have gone somwhere he could get first team football first, then he would have had every chance of moving to United later in his career.}

15 Jul 2015 13:01:19
Sounds a bit like zaha ed.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - naw, Zaha never had the talent he was being hyped to have. Very average player who just has pace and a bit of flashy flicks and tricks. Never had a clue what to do with them and never showed any signs of ever developing into a worthwhile buy. Powell had a real end product to his game, he was creating chances and scoring goals, not just looking fancy but achieving little as Zaha did. I will never understand what on earth possessed United to buy Zaha, whereas Powell just wasn't ready for the step up.}

15 Jul 2015 13:22:36
Agree completely ed. I never understood the zaha purchase.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would really like to know what made the club bring him in. In the past I have managed to get hold of some scout reports on players and seen things mentioned I had not spotted that explain the thinking behind some purchases. I have seen a few on Zaha, not one said anything that suggested he would be any good at United, so I am at a loss to understand the decision at all.}

15 Jul 2015 13:24:26
cheers ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate, I just hope he sorts himself out and knuckles down. He has real quality if he puts his mind to it.}

15 Jul 2015 13:38:53
I'd love to have seen the scouting reports on Bebe :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - now those would be priceless, as I am not sure he was ever actually 'scouted'. That was a very dodgy deal that one. Best not get to into that, though Kloot could probably add a lot more info if it is the real him about now.}

15 Jul 2015 16:25:17
Scouting report just read

'I'll make it hugely worth your while, Mr Ferguson, if you sign the ex homeless lad, that I have on my books'

Signed Dodgy Agent

Allegedly!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 17:11:26
Wasnt Bebe and Manucho (as i recall) signed after recomodation (sorry spelling) from Carlos Queros our ass manager at the time? Remember Manucho was scouted in a play off in Africa Cup i think. And Bebe being an unseen signing after a tip also from Queros?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 17:37:43
I've called ole Carlos many things over the years but ass manager is the best.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 20:08:03
I know Powell he's from the area I live I played in teams with him at different ages and levels and he's quality he's come down the 6 aside where I play and literally can walk round people injured with jeans on he's that good. He definitely has had a few issues with his attitude he's not really into football I don't think he was ever a big lover of the game more the money from what his brother used to say. Hopefully when he leaves United I know a few championship teams wanted him when I last spoke to him a few months back he can finally get a bit of form together and get his head down

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 11:46:38
Eds can you give any updates on di maria to psg? Everyday psg are linked to him and I know his wife never settled in Manchester which is understandable considering the robbery. Adm has obviously said he'd like to stay and personally I think in second season will flourish but I get the impression di maria and lvg wouldn't be that upset should the psg move materialise.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is no change yet. PSG would like him, he was always keen on moving there, but at the moment United are not pushing him out the door. If something does happen, it looks likely to be an end of window move, when United have built their team and happier to get rid.}

15 Jul 2015 12:40:12
Ed 001 could di maria exit depend on who we bring in upfront ie lewondowski?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no it depends on the club he wants paying the price United are asking.}

15 Jul 2015 16:09:48
So are we saying Di Maria wants out. He gave an interview at the copa america saying he wants to stay after getting through the first season. Real talent there and if he reaches
his maximum level he would be our best player I'd hate to see him go.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 10:55:56
Hi Eds do you think there is a chance of any of the first team players other than hernandez,de gea,rafael,evans leaving?
Mata's name came up few weeks back but has gone quite?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - if the right offer came in for Mata or Jones, the club would be willing to sell.}

15 Jul 2015 11:19:05
I like Jones, yeah he's not a great defender and we could do with a lot better one(obviously( but he throws himself at anything and puts his body on the line which I love to see.

Agree4 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 11:26:02
Would be a shame to sell Mata but 433 doesn't play to his strengths.
Just wanted your opinion Ed on your Liverpool teams shopping so far, with Benteke and possibly others to sign do you think it'll be a good window and what's the fans expectations for the upcoming season?

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 11:48:07
Sorry Ed just saw your take on Liverpool on the banter page, you've done some typing this morning ha.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it's fine mate, I would have only been doing research or typing up articles for FNV or player-profiles otherwise. It is a break to type for the sites and have someone else providing the idea of what to type about, rather than having to find something.}

15 Jul 2015 12:05:49
If I had my way both would stay. I wish Jones could have settled better as a centre back instead of becoming Mr Versatiliy under SAF - that for me has ruined his progression.

And Mata is quite simply a fan favorite and combines brilliantly with Herrera - I for one hope they both stay. Instead I'd see Evans leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 12:17:30
Finding inspiration in us posters eh Ed. A friend of a friend of mine is a sports writer, doing blogs and stuff over in Ireland, spurs fan I think, I know he enjoys the job but having to find something interesting and informative to write about daily that will be enjoyable to his readers can be difficult.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is a nightmare, especially with so many sites that need related content on a daily basis. Trying to find something to write for Barnsley, for instance, during the close season, is hard work. I often end up just doing a player profile for one of that particular team's players or former players instead when I can't think of anything.}

15 Jul 2015 12:31:02
Agree with Fresh - Evans should be the first player out the door, followed swiftly by Rafael.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 12:46:01
Ha yes I can imagine you'd have to wrack your brains over something like that. Could always write about a famous 1-0 victory for Barnsley at anfield in '97 mate ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you would enjoy that far too much!}

15 Jul 2015 13:35:02
Feel for you ed, don't know how you find the time pal, hats off to you all!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - luckily I don't have a life to interfere with my time. Being able to do this wherever I am is a great help too. I only need access to the internet. It does help that my missus is very understanding, in fact when we are together it is her that often reminds me to check the sites if I have been lazy. Though that might just be so she gets some peace....}

15 Jul 2015 13:48:25
You're lucky guy ed, I just get ear ache :-) Not surprised you are letting her make you an honest man.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am just surprised she would want to marry me. It is like going in to pick up a lottery win thinking you have got 3 numbers and it turns out you have all 6.}

15 Jul 2015 14:06:32
Well I'm not religious in the slightest so I won't say it's some Omnipotent being paying you back with good, for all the years of having to watch Liverpool, I do like the idea of Yin and Yang though, so could be something to do with that :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think I would have to say that it would be deserved for having to put up with the Souness era while hearing me mam's family telling me all the tales about growing up watching us dominate Europe *sigh*. They used to say I was a jinx. First game I went to see at Anfield we lost, so I wasn't allowed any tea as it must have been my fault.}

15 Jul 2015 14:26:52
Oops! No Scouse for you that night then :-)
I was lucky, when we won the FA Cup in 1990 I was only 9, so I have pretty much grown up with success. What made it better is my dad being a City fan, was like a double whammy of joy all those years.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I bet he is giving it you back over the last few years though!}

15 Jul 2015 14:48:14
I just don't go round when they win. When they won the league in 2012 I didn't go round for a month! I couldn't face that as well as buying a new TV, having accidentally launched the sky remote at it when Aguero scored. Worst day in a long time! He isn't happy about them signing Sterling though.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - their buying policy rivals Liverpool's for its utter lack of forward thinking and planning. They are just lucky to have a lot more money to throw away on ill thought out purchases.}

15 Jul 2015 15:04:30
i agree ed, so does my dad :-) for a City fan he talks a lot of sense, a bit like yourself for a Liverpool fan šŸ˜‰

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 15:18:41
The first march I remember watching United was that 3-3 v crystal palace Brendan, I was 7, I remember pickin which team I should support, man to think I could be a palace fan now.

15 Jul 2015 15:47:39
Ha ha WRD, that was close eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 16:16:17
Ha yes. Well my mum is a Liverpool fan, my dad United so I think that tipped me toward United. I remember then going great game I'll support us in the replay too, Lee Martin my hero that day.

does anyone if its true we have bid 45m euro for ramos

Believable0 Unbelievable3

15 Jul 2015 11:15:16
Don't believe it personally and I don't think we'll get him. Madrid wouldn't sell their captain(Casillas) and their vice captain(Now captain) in the same window especially since they are two huge names.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 06:05:31
Any ED can u give information about Romero Gk are we really interested . thx

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - there is interest, I would only think as a back up though. I know he was looked at by a lot of teams during the season, knowing he would be a free agent, but he failed to impress most. Last I heard, which is why I say back up, is that he was seen as not good enough by United's scouting team, as a first choice keeper.}

15 Jul 2015 08:18:12
thx Ed. is tat can be to replace Valdez has back up .

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know if you will sign him, as he wants to be a first choice. Hence why he is still available, no one sees him as good enough to be first choice.}

15 Jul 2015 08:49:34
thx Ed for clearing it up

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 09:01:12
If we were to go for any keeper i would like us to go for Oblak

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2015 23:55:29
Hi eds I see lewys name Linked to us again?. Where did this come from. Imo having seen lewy play for Poland in Dublin and 3 times last year for bayern in Munich I can tell you he's not physical enough for the premiership. He's always looking for free kicks etc. He's a great goalscorer but I'm telling u his antics on the pitch will draw attention to himself from premiership defenders which he can't handle. Cavani on the other hand is built like a tank and seems to revel in the physical stuff too. Do you think United will go after cavani and offer psg serious money.
If Rooney gets injured we're in trouble. Finally I don't agree with people saying mata is all that in our team. Yes he's a good player with the ball. United teams whichdominated played at a high tempo with wingers. Mata always has to take an extra touch
which slows our momentum down and this was evident a lot last season thoughts please.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - he is being shopped around by reps trying to generate interest in him. The only question is whether he is seriously looking to leave or just trying to get a new contract. That is not entirely clear, but then it could be a case of being open to either, which is the most likely.}

15 Jul 2015 08:34:01
Eds & Major, two days ago I posted a rumour informing you that I heard from a reliable source that Lewandowski would be our next signing with Di Maria going the other way. note that some of the tabloids picking this up too.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jul 2015 09:35:22
Majo, I for one do not rate Mata that much, for me he should be the one on the bench to change games and Harera in mid along with schneiderlin/or Schweini, while the wide areas covered by Demaria/young and Mamphis/Adnan. Mata is too casual for my liking and slow us alot. he should me talked to be serious minded or be shipped/used as backup.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 10:47:25
Mata is a fantastic player, but he is a little slow for our traditional style of play.

He is invaluable when our faster play gets bogged down against a deep defense, which has often been a problem for us over the years as we can be to easy to shut out if the other team park the bus. Mata is the most likely player we have to open a packed defense and create a chance.

He is too slow for the wide spot IMO, but he should be played behind Rooney whenever we expect the other team to park the bus.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 14:58:38
I think Mata is a bit underrated. He's not the quickest, but makes up for it with great positioning and good movement.
Mata if used in the right way could be outstanding, something the game against the scousers, in particular showed.
Did also score some vital goals last season, maybe even being one of the main reasons why the team got so many points, in a crucial part of the season. Think he showed us then, that he is still worth a place in the squad.
