@Ed02

What is the situation with Pogba and Vidal at Juve? Reports have started to come up in the Italian press that Juve may be open to selling Vidal and would like to keep Pogba.

Any truth in that?

Believable5 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG and Real Madrid all have an interest in Pogba. PSG are obviously in a difficult situation with UEFA and will need to sell to buy to help start balancing the books. It will make any deal for Pogba very difficult indeed. Juventus would like to keep hold of him and following a meeting with his representatives on May 8 and right now the situation remains settled - although that could change if the manager leaves.

Vidal moved to Juventus after spurning good offers from Bayern Munich and Barcelona. If he were to come up for sale, I understand Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Real Madrid would be interested. Manchester United will I am sure be interested but I am not so sure they are an option any longer. Real Madrid would propose a player exchange deal. Other clubs might be interested in doing the same if they are approached by Juventus for players.}

@Ed02

Thanks.

I had forgotten the Van Gaal vs South American players connection. Maybe that is in play here?

Ed/s, I've used the search function on Antoine Griezmann but couldn't find anything. Supposedly David Friio spoke highly of him back in March, with Griezmann also saying that MU are interested in him. Does that still stand if true? Surely Griezmann is the best alternative to Reus should he stay in Dortmund like recent reports have suggested. Thanks in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rennes, Fiorentina and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the past year and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. Whilst the kid has said on several occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, the financial problems being faced by Real Sociedad may still see him leave the club in the summer. He has had a good season which have led to enquiries being made by Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea; and Manchester United and PSG having the player watched on more than one occasion.}

All this talk about players being signed makes my blood boil.the way Woodward is conducting himself again with van gaal makes me wonder if we are trying to even get the man. if we ain't carefull I can see van gaal going to spurs. I know the World Cup is upon us, but for gods sake announce yes he, s comming or no he ain't. as again we are signing anyone with a pulse . left back, central defender, right winger, midfield enforcer that's all we need, and a manager who won't change the team 51 times in a season. come on woody show what your made off and earn ya piss taking salary

Agree1 Disagree1

Griezmann is one of my favourite attackers outside of Manchester United if I am honest. I think he could be brilliant for us.

And United are respecting Holland's wishes, it is not Woodward's fault. Holland wants no distractions, this is a World Cup after all that doesn't happen all the time. The van Gaal deal is done, just waiting for a time that suits both parties to announce it.

Super stuff Ed02 as always, cheers!

I'm a big fan of him too Fresh, the only player i'd rather bring in for that role would be Reus.

I don't see how delaying announcing LVG is helping the dutch national team, if it was announced LVG could just say he's only focused on the national team at the moment. While it's not being announced every time they get a chance (the media) they'll ask him for an update on the situation. It's stupid if that is the reason IMO.

Reports of a €32million offer for Vidal in Italian press. If true how naive a deal for Vidal would surely be closer and probably more than €50million.

Believable2 Unbelievable21

Could be 32 million + nani. Which would make more sense. Although some might argue that adding nani actually reduces the capital amount.

Agree1 Disagree1

I have just seen the reports for this on Sport Mediaset. It seems Sir Alex met with Conte and Juvu after the Europa league final last night to discuss a deal.

32m euro seems a tad low - Maybe £32m quid long with Nani - that would be a hell of a signing

As Captain Picard would say 'Make it so'

Agree0 Disagree0

If only! Vidal would be perfect.

Agree0 Disagree0

The value being discussed is 32 million sterling not euro. which is equal to 40 million euros. Maybe that is why SAF was in Turin?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think €40m would probably be enough. €35m would probably have been a better starting amount - but what can you do? He won't want to come to OT even if they agree to the sale anyway!

Agree0 Disagree0

Redseven touched on it last night. I hope it was to chat about Vidal. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if Vidal was brought up in the conversations as the editor has confirmed we have an interest in Vidal. SAF seems to be acting as a 3rd party for us. £26m plus Nani would be a snip. Hopefully it's true and if true, then something can be agreed.

Agree0 Disagree2

It's possible that SAF just happened to sit next to Conte. But I also suppose that he could of mentioned him. Maybe two of Nani, Kagawa or Hernandez involved in the deal? Who would be be signed instead of, Strootman? Or Kroos? Or would all three of them make up the midfield?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Conte is not the person to talk to about players - you are just making this stuff up.}

I was of the opinion it was just a case of seeing them two together and some rather bad journalism. Il still clutch at the 1% chance it may happen.

Ed02, do you know if SAF was in Turin just to watch a football match or was there another reason? Do you know if he held talks with any Juve officials? Italian press could just be jumping on the bandwagon. Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to answer this Syd.}

I'll answer on The question! Sir Alex was there to watch a game of football! Vidal is no longer an option for us as we can't offer CL football.

Hi Eds, first time posting. Is there any interest from us in Ivan Rakitic, he had a great performance yesterday, craking player.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Not really although Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Lazio and perhaps Liverpool and Juve would be interested if Rakitic were available at a sensible price - which he isn't. There is a slim chance that he will agree a new deal with Sevilla and there is a chance Real Madrid will step in for him. Chelsea were previously interested, dropped their interest but now that interest may have been rekindled with some recent discussions and the chance of a player exchange. Bayern Munich are keeping a watching brief.}

He was a good player when he moved to Seville for just over 5 million. It was around the same time someone said there was no value in the market.

Agree1 Disagree0

He was not. He was let go because he didn't show signs of fulfilling his huge potential and Schalke ran out of patience.

Agree0 Disagree1

He signed from schalke jan 2011 for circa £4.4 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rakitic is a superb talent, just depends on madrid coming in, because then he can stay in spain and they'll offer him bucks! be superb signing though, yet I don't think he'll wanna move to england? would you? oh, by the way he's also just won the europa cup which means UCL next season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I correct myself it was a couple of million euros. No value in the market. He was already an established selection for Croatia then.
