Daily Fail running story, that Chelsea have a deal in place for Eden Hazard. So (if true) there is another one we can wave goodbye to.

Sambo

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Surely he is better than what we have? if we don't bid then it's a joke.

Agree4 Disagree3

C'mon - its the Daily Mail...hardly the most reliable source

Agree5 Disagree0

It also said,...we are going to sign Messi in summer,...so what do u expect.....DAILY BS is the new name for it

Agree3 Disagree0

Daily Mail are usually pretty reliable tbf, i hope this isnt true tho as this kid looks like a star! apparently they've bid for jovetic too :( {Ed001's Note - their accuracy in rumours is about 20%, hardly pretty reliable, that would be more pretty unreliable in my view.}

Agree3 Disagree0

He would b so good at united just wot we need but we will never get him as we have no money to spend when was the last time we made a marqee signing wasnt it berbatov? Really wish glazers would leave so we can buy true united class players rather then the bebe's and ibertans etc

Agree2 Disagree2

On paper the partnership of rooney and berb is a mouth watering prospect, i remember when we got him how excited i (and many others) was, it is only with hindsight that ppl think he was a flop (to which i disagree) so the gla$$$ers cant be blamed for that one

dags

Agree4 Disagree1

The Fail always seem to claim players for Chelsea before any such moves materialise. It wouldn't be entirely false to claim that the Fail is Chelsea's biggest fan.

Just seen a bit of Lucas Ocampos play, boy does he look a player. Bags of potential, looks like a copy of a faw Ronaldo, 6ft in height, has time to grow, put muscle on and becoome a world beater. I wouldn't be surprised to see him here in the near future along with Rodwell and perhaps Kovavic.

RedDevil19

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Hopefully not Rodwell but Pogba! Both around the same age too and could grow old together as reds.

Cooper

Agree5 Disagree2

Not rodwell, are you mad! Rodwell is a quality with bags of potential, he has time to grow and is miles better than Pogba!

Agree3 Disagree6

Pogba has more talent in his appendix than Rodwell has. Rodwell has potential to be a good DM/CB, but Pogba will be world-class.

Sydney!

Agree5 Disagree1

Agree with Sydney for a change :) .. Pogba will be world class, Rodwell has not progressed well imo the last two years hence the reason why he is not a United player already..

Agree3 Disagree0

I dont see why United dont have a Press Manager who can come on MUTV or release statements about certain players! The gossip about Morrison, Pogba leaving and the players coming in is so much crap. Just put the crap to bed with an honest one single statement and that ends all press cuttings!

Agree3 Disagree0

I know i have been banging on about rodwell joining for the last few months but i would have to admit pogba (from what i have seen) does have more potential and could boss the midfield for years to come but i believe rodwell will become a quality squad player like park or o'shea, maybe not always starting but still getting plenty of games

dags

Agree4 Disagree0

Rodwell is a big game player, he has played well against us, played well in the old Uefa Cup and played well consistanly against the likes of us, liverpool, spurs etc.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2012 20:08:11
Just wondering, where are all these Rodwell/Barkley rumours coming from again? Any sources? For January they seem just about the only realistic signing we would make this January i.e. young british talent.

RedDevil19

Believable6 Unbelievable3

16 Jan 2012 19:48:01
French Press saying they have reports that we have put in a bid for Hazard.

Dare we even hope!

Believable10 Unbelievable9

I've been hoping for a long time. Doubt it will happen, but like they say, stranger things have happened.

Percy

Agree4 Disagree0

Hes a quality player and it would be awesome to get him not to mention beat the likes of Arsenal and co to get him.

Agree4 Disagree0

Arsenal stand very little chance of signing Hazard.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal will not sign Hazard.
They will probably more likely to go for Podolski

Agree0 Disagree0

Do we have a source to back up this rumour? It sounds really unlikely, but i hope we have at least made an effort...!

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

If we have put in a bid for hazard then i suspect even if it were to be finalised he still wouldn't arrive till summer

dags {Ed002's Note - Manchester United have not made a bid for Eden Hazard.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Arsenal will never spend more than 20 mill max on a player, so i highly doubt they will come close to getting him.

Danny Welbeck could be sold in the summer, he just rejected a new deal and Man Utd dont wanna meet his wage demands

Believable3 Unbelievable36

Lol welbeck signed a new deal last year. Idiot.

RedDevil92

Agree22 Disagree1

Would be a shame!
I see him just below Chicharito. His contract was just renewed on 60k (pls correct me).
I can see why Danny is asking for the same.

I do see why SAF doesn't want to grant that though, wouldn't make negotiations easier with Pogba/Morrison.

Jonny8

Agree2 Disagree3

Welbeck never signed a new deal last year.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree8

There is no danger of Danny leaving, he is a true red and contracted to the club until 2013. It is no more than heavy negotiating, similar to the Pogba and Morrison situations IMO. Just United playing hardball as per usual. Just goes to show why we struggle to bring in top players, we love a good haggle.

Sydney!

Agree6 Disagree4

So according to all these bulls**tters we're soon gonna have no youth left.

Agree6 Disagree0

I thought welbeck signed a new deal in November if I'm right it was a 5 year deal worth £45,000 a week?

Big Mac

Agree6 Disagree0

Syd do you expect all 3 to sign up soon then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha i'm of a similar opinion syd, i think SAF is a big fan of del boy ;)

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be happy with Welbeck and one of Pogba and Morrison, but all three is not out of the question.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree3

Danny Welbeck will not be leaving! 'The boy won't be leaving, So you can put tha te bed' SAF when questioned about it in the future

United Till I Die 1987

Agree1 Disagree0

Wasn't the best time for this story to come out, with everything going on with Pogba and Morrison. It doesnt need to get blown out of proportion, he's not going to leave. If he puts in the same performances for the rest of the season then in summer he would be more entitled to having a wage increase. If he wants the same as hernandez den he has to do around the same as what hernandez die last season. Hernandez hasn't been the same as last season but he gets little injuries at the wrong time just when he starts getting some form going. Does any1 know how much Welbeck is on atm?

I'm hearing from Carrington that Berb is going nowhere and that SAF plans to trigger his 1 yr extension.

Also that the only player that is being mentioned as a likely for us at Carrington amongst staff is Rodwell.

I could see that myself. We know SAF is a fan and it links with what he's doing bringing in younger british players etc.

I know that Syd has contacts there too, I assume you are hearing the same?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Couldn't agree more with your post. Others are saying Berbatov is going to make space for Morrison. Right so we get rid if a proven footballer to play an unproven reserve player.
As for players like Ronaldo, Pique, Sneijder....why would they leave their clubs to play in Manchester? We couldn't afford these guys anyway.
Fergie likes to buy young players and then mould them into top club footballers...so Rodwell etc makes sense.

Agree6 Disagree3

Just a couple mates that practically live at Carrington, I do not know any of the staff.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

Cheers for reply Syd.

It looks like the Ronaldo rumours are intensifying, maybe he is why we are not spending? I very much hope so. Give Pogba half of this season to be ready for next and include him as a regular first team member next season alongside the current crop. With Ronaldo that would be sufficient.

RedDevil19

Believable6 Unbelievable12

Come on 19, never had you down as gullible.

Sydney!

Agree8 Disagree1

Some how I doubt it do you..........Real Madrid 5 points clear at top and in champions league and man utd just managing to keep up with Man City and in Europa league were would you play

Agree4 Disagree1

I'd play for United, but I'm biased, I despise the football ruiners (Sugar daddy sides).

Percy

Agree5 Disagree0

Something drastic would have to happen for him to leave Madrid. Just a few fans booing him and little arguments with some teammates wont change his dream?!
He left for Madrid and probably wanted even more success than he had at MUFC. He's too stubborn to leave without it..

Ozwald

Agree5 Disagree0

Never rule anything out Sydney, stranger things have happened! Carrol was worth 35 million and a past it Torres at 50. Parting shot at City for SAF? Who knows? I'm not ruling anything out, SAF is so unpredictable as we all know. Not saying its on or anything though.

RedDevil19

Agree3 Disagree0

Well the changes to the tax systems in spain may be a contributing factor, 54% percent tax can't be too attractive and i doubt clubs will raise there wages to cover the deficit.

What about Samba? He's better thn Evans

Believable16 Unbelievable6

What about Gerard Pique ? he is better than Evans

Devil Dust.

Agree14 Disagree2

Samba is playing well in a team of crap players. He's average to be honest and when he's up front alot of the time during games their trying to get points from, who's left at the back?! Evans is a very good player, people slate him because he had a bad season last year like the new Gibson or Fletcher of a few years ago when they weren't great they were a hate figure almost. Samba won't get any better Evans will that's the difference.

Ed's, Syd, anyone else, has anyone got any news on Manolo Gabbiadini the 20 year old striker from Atalanta? I know we were tracking him but all seemed to have gone quiet? Could be the young striker to come in to replace Berba?

Ports

Believable1 Unbelievable3

16 Jan 2012 17:21:33
Agent Emil Danchev has dismissed the Dimitar Berbatov stories in this morning's newspapers. The Bulgarian's representative told Gong.bg that the striker is certain to remain at Old Trafford at least for the rest of the season.

If so, then SAF will trigger the clause which is Contract Extension for 1 year and then we sell him for £8m - £10m in summer.

One way or other, he has to go sooner or later, if he wants regular football, if he wants to warm the bench at old trafford, he is welcome to stay,...we have lots of Benches at Old Trafford.

PS - I dont want to get rid of him, but it feels sad to see him sit on the bench, he is class no doubt in it, but the play and style does`nt suit him.
If he signs for someone else, atleast he will get more playing time.
Good Luck Chap..

Heard the Ravel Morrison unrealistic demands had nothing to do with money but infact everything to do with first team appearances. He wanted to be guaranteed a certain amount of first team games

Woody

Believable12 Unbelievable1

That sounds realistic to me, which could be why SAF is trying to offload Berbatov so now rather than the Summer (if that's the case), not to free up wages, but to free up a position within the team. It just seems convenient that Gibson, someone who plays the same role as Pogba and now Berbatov, someone who plays a role very similar to Morrison are going to be (likely) by February.

Percy

Agree8 Disagree3

That's something i can believe

Ozwald

Agree6 Disagree0

Well if this IS the case why did SAF say unrealistic demands?.....the boy IS good enough to play as is pogba.......Park and Rafael in CM over them 2?.....I cant blame him for being angry IF that is what has happened

Agree5 Disagree3

Berbatov and Gibson were always up for sale and Diouf, Cofie, King & Kiko were always going out on loan. It will leave more space for Morrison, but they were always leaving anyway. Gibson had to be moved on this window else we would have lost him for nothing and had to pay his salary til June. Morrison, Lingard & Will Keane will be the reserve team forwards. Hernandez, Rooney, Welbeck & Owen will be the first team forwards. But now Kiko & Diouf and possibly Berba are out of the way, Ravel will have his chance, especially with Owen injured.

Sydney!

Agree9 Disagree1

Noone should have the right to make this kind of demand. If you are good enough, you will play, simple as that.

Agree6 Disagree0

You lot are nuts! never seen so much waffle and pure rubbish its ridiculous! sydney... your made out to be this know it all of united, if so then why are you claiming ravel is a forward? he's seen as a cm the 2 league cup games hes featured in he played cm! for the ressies he plays cm! honestly pack it in you lot its embaressing! stop trying to pick players united are signing if it was a genuine source then fair enough but to many of you have been playing football manager and thinking its as simple as that to sign a player wake up! the amount of young talent united have got we maybe need a defender and a cm at most and thats maybe! we have absoloute class in every position! ando cleverley begin of season tore city apart 2nd half of cup then destroyed teams untill they got injured, phil jones immense in the position, carrick absoloute class at the minute then you have giggs and scholes who if anyone slates is a moran! they bring so much to the team on and off the field! so instead of talking rubbish maybe get behind the team because this current team has the potential to dominate for next ten years.

Is that a Kevin Moran or Dylan Moran?

Syd or any of the eds if you could shine some light on this I've been told about the return of cr7 to old Trafford. I would be the first one to shoot it down but the storie makes sense wit his own fans booing him the new tax laws in Spain an the fact he doesn't celebrate goals anymore along wit our midfield problems our reluctance to sign someone and fergie could be freeing up space for a Huge signing I know it's very far fetched but so is torres for fifty mill an Carroll for 35 mil

Young irish

Believable6 Unbelievable7

He did say that he would like to return to premiership one day but not until he had won silverware for Real, and he seems to be happy coz he always wanted to play for real madrid.
I expect him to stay at Bernabeu for atleast 2 years or so.

RONALDO IS STAYING AT REAL, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS....(people are always going to make s**t about him....silly fans)end off

DC_9

Agree8 Disagree2

Its okay to dream ............... i do quite often tbh though i would prefer to sign benzema ozil martinez higuain shaqiri javi garcia

Agree2 Disagree0

If he gets 'silverware', i.e. La Liga this year, maybe the Champions League and he already has the Copa del Rey, then there is always a chance. At 27 he would not command 80 million i don't think. The deal is more likely than you all may think

Agree5 Disagree1

I read the same today.
i can see the argumentation with the fans and him looking not too happy on the pitch.
As far as I know, the Beckham law was cancelled back in 2009. Since January 1st 2010 there are no more tax reductions for foreigners. but it was reported back then this would only come into effect on contracts signed after that date, therefor does not bother Ronaldo (or Kaka) right now, until his contract comes up for renewal. He won't be looking to extend his contract now, since it was reported back then his salary rises every season up to 500k/week in the final year (on 24% tax!)

Assuming this is all still accurate, I could see Real trying to sell him someday, since he won't want to sign a new contract with a lower net salary, which means an upgrade to approx. 800k/week, just to get him the same net salary.
and they won't want to get too close to the end of his contract (2015?)

Jonny8

I'd be happy to know whether they changed the taxes again to get those 54% tax on existing contracts as well

Agree1 Disagree0

I still think he will be playing for City in a couple of years. Perhaps Aguero plus cash?

Sydney!

Agree4 Disagree4

Sydney you have no idea if you think he'd play for City. Ronaldo is no mercenary and plays for the clubs he loves. That is Sporting, us and Real. {Ed007's Note - Did you actually think before you typed that? How can someone have no idea of what they think???? Surely if you think something that in itself is an idea!}

Agree0 Disagree1

He would never join city, i honestly dont believe that he would join even for a million a week, at this stage money isnt that big of a deal to him

Agree2 Disagree1

Completely agree with Sydney, if he comes back to the Premier League he'll sign for City I think :( only a matter of time in my opinion, hope to god I'm wrong but don't think I will be.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah thats clearly the reason we haven't spent on improving our midfield, it wasn't money-related and had nothing to do with picking the right signings - we've just been sat on our hands hoping that Ronaldo decides to leave Madrid for the past few years.

RED_SKY

Agree2 Disagree1

Ah the naivety.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

Wether you think we are dreamers or whatever this storie has surfaced again he has said some things and triggered some imaginations this is a rumour site so lads climb down of the high horse

Young Irish

Agree0 Disagree0

Once again another post where sydner (mr know it all) is talking absoloute rubbish! and all his lil followers believe fall for it all! ridiculous! ronaldo to city in a couple of years? theres no way ronaldo would go to any other club in england then united... and theres also a very slim chance if any that he would ever wear the red of united! even if united found 80million madrid would laugh why would they sell arguably the best player in the world... madrid will be the number one team in the world within a year they have the best squad in the world and its only a matter of time before jose overtakes barca!

Agree1 Disagree0

Ronaldo said about a year ago that he was flattered by the apparent interest from City but would not leave Real at the time. He also said the only club he could never see himself playing for would be Barcelona. I love the guy but I have no doubt that if the right offer came along City in the future he would play for them sadly

old, maybe
but nothing better than adding some good old steel in midfield and potentially free(transfer fees)
not bad for free i'd say

Not tht old mate 27, just what united need in my opinion 1 of the best holding midfielders about 10 times the player fletcher and carrick

heard that both bayern munich an bayern leverkusen have tabled around 7.5m for berbatov with leverkusen his favoured desternation as he played an still follows the club. the fee is this low as i belive the player has choice on when deal goes through. something along the lines of if he wants to deal to go through in summer then fee is 7.5 an if it was to go through in jan then it wud move to around 9m. still a low fee but i feel united will want to fee up space for wages an also i think deal may go through in the summer also.

Ravel Morrison- "I have never 1s turned down a contract off manchester united" @RavelMorrison49

RamoN 19

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Sounds to me like his agent is doing some business without his knowledge
Or SAF is playing mind games and trying to achieve something, no clue what.
keep other clubs from contacting Morrison due to ridiculous demands?

Jonny8

Agree6 Disagree0

His agent would have told the club what Ravel wants and the club would have told his agent whats on offer. His agent could have done the rejecting. It's always the agents that make things difficult as they are driven by money and the more money Ravel gets, the more money his agent will get.

Sydney!

Agree6 Disagree4

That is very true Syd, and my mate made an interesting point... given his record off the pitch this may be the only contract his agent ever does for him (if it were to go t*ts up) so he will be trying his hardest to get himself as much money as possible.... HATE AGENTS...

oxred

Agree3 Disagree1

In fact Ravel wouldn't need to do any rejecting, him and his agent would already know the offer United will make as it's the same for everyone. It will be around £16k a week. It's what Pogba was offered and what Cleverley & Welbeck received at that age. So in theory he may not have rejected an offer, but his agent has told the club what he has been offered elsewhere and wants the club to match it.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree3

I really doubt Ravel is doing any business right now.

He tweeted he doesn't have any contract offer on January 11th, and said he hasn't asked anything off United (yet) on January 14th.

From over here (far away) it sounds like he is not looking for any contract or has his heart set on a move away.
Might be wrong, but if he is as (not) smart as many people here make believe, he wouldn't be able to hide it the way he does.

i am still wondering whats going on with his contract, thought it was confirmed to run through 2014, but then why would SAF say he made ridiculous demands?

My conclusion is Ravel's agent is contacting everyone around about the best possible offer, without being instructed so by Ravel.
He is of course, kind of, supposed to do so, considering he is his agent ;-)

Jonny8

Agree1 Disagree3

SAF said his terms were unrealistic, not sure he said "ridiculous demands" bud. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

His agents job isn't to potentially ruin the best chance he's been given in his life.

TM

Agree5 Disagree0

I think independent agents should be banned from football worldwide!! Look at the hassles they cause and as for 3rd party ownership. REDICULAS!!!

The only people who should be allowed to reprisent a player are people who are employed by the football governing body of that country in our case the F.A.

All players should pay an anual fee to that governing body in order to pay for this in a similar way to a union.

Keep it simple keep it legit!

Any foundation to this Honda to United Rumour that seems to be around this morning guys?

RebelRed {Ed002's Note - Probably not.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I wouldnt be suprised if it was true, chances are park wont be around for long and United will want to replace him with another Asian player to keep the Asian fan base Interested in United and Keep Jersey sales high in Asia so Honda seems like a good idea. He has quality and is a big Asian Name United will need to replace Park.

Agree3 Disagree2

LOL, just because park is asian and could be leaving soon doesn't mean we have to replace him with another asian...

Agree4 Disagree4

Hope so to be honest.. Ed, did you say CSKA Moscow are one of the clubs looking at Berbatov? If so then Maybe a player + cash deal would be a good move for both clubs.

Ozwald {Ed007's Note - Yes CSKA are one of the teams with varying degrees of interest in Berbatov.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought not, thanks Ed002.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, well thats the only reason i thought that this type of transfer would appeal to SAF. Swapping an unwanted/uneeded older player for a younger creative midfielder. I love Honda's vision not over a big range on the pitch but his small passes and through balls are sweet. Also he is Japan's favourite player and Japan is the best footballing country in Asia so there's definitely money to be made with shirt sales etc.

Maybe this is the type of low-profile, small money move we could make?

Ozwald

berbatov with probaly go

Believable5 Unbelievable5

16 Jan 2012 04:10:11
Well, i think Morrison plays as CF,..then if Berbatov leaves we should not worry, we already have someone to fill his boots.
And if this happens, then i feel SAF thinks Morrison should be given first team appearances, and also to free up funds(wages) that berba.is currently on (£80-90K/week) and promote
Pogba - £30-35K a week
Morrison - £30-35K aweek
Welbeck - around £50K - £55K a week
--------------------------------------------------------
I dont think we desperately need to sign someone in midfield,..now that cleverley is about to return, i would like to see him and Anderson in the midfield, then we have Carrick,Scholes, for back up we have giggs,Park, jones can play there as well, fletcher too! though he is resting now, but he still a united player, he might come back one day as he was before, atleast we can hope.
And then u all say,Pogba should be given more chances....
So we have around 12 midfielders including wingers.

I would love to see someone like Hazard/Gotez come, that is the Luxury i must say, top class winger/Attacking MF, will boost our squad. But i do feel, we need someone to take free kicks and penalties and corners as well.

We fans can only speculate, but the person incharge must have something in mind, and we must accept watever he does,..

Marc_

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Marc I agree with u, but UTD desperately need a luxury CB.

Agree3 Disagree0

Why is Carrick always back up? He is clearly our most important player at the minute. Carrick and Jones are the best midfield pairing we have - in my opinion.

Agree8 Disagree4

Agreed. for a long time now i've been critical of Carrick, but of late he's found that form he had when he first signed for us. he's controlling our midfield at the minute and being praised left right and centre. would be unfair for him to lose his place. right now a carrick cleverly centre mid would be best

Agree7 Disagree0

Cleverley and Anderson weren't too shabby together either. Imagine Cleverley and Anderson with Ferdinand and Vidic sat behind them?

Sydney!

Agree10 Disagree1

Yes i agree although we need a consistant centre midfielder

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree Syd. Cleverly ad Anderson were amazing at the start of the season and i hope it continues. but I'm not to sure that Ferdinand will be a starter with Vidic when Vidic is fit again. i expect Jones or Smalling to take ferdinands place when Vidic is back. that pace he's lost is a big issue and has been a weak point in my view

Noley

Agree6 Disagree0

Clev and Carrick for me. I just don't rate Ando. I'm not Carrick's biggest fan either but as long as we are not against a team thats likely to pressure his position he can defo do a good job.

Hello Ed,
With Gibson gone and Berbatov flying to Germany to have talks with Leverkusen, do you believe we are making space for a signing this window?

YankSAW {Ed007's Note - Yes. Just my opinion though.}

Believable8 Unbelievable3

With berbatov possibly on his way to Germany, I have a bad feeling that fergie Is planning on bring demba ba to OT. I personally dont think ba Is Any better than berba. I just hope I'm wrong. Bt in fergie I trust.

Agree2 Disagree7

Who do you think it will be?

YankSAW

Agree0 Disagree1

Hazard with Diouf going the other way with £25M.

Agree10 Disagree5

Im sure Berba' wont leave this winter BUT possibly in the summer. Rodwell has a huge chance of coming to Utd.

And as far as this winter transfer window is concerned, there could be signing but a relatively unknown player as compared to names being mentioned.

And i'm possitive WS wont join. Not now, not in the summer. So, we could be in for a surprise or two. Fingers Crossed :)

Agree5 Disagree1

Can people stop saying "in fergie we trust" please its so annoying, we trusted him when he signed bebe, kleberson, blomqvist, poborsky who were all big mistakes and to top it off he sold Forlan for 2M, thats right 2M! who went on to become one of the best goalscrores in Spain and theres also Guiseppi Rossi who was flogged because he couldnt get the best out of either of them so make no mistake about it, Fergie has been very hit and miss with transfers unlike wenger who has made millions for Arsenal while still winning the league, Fergie is a good manager but his transfer record stinks

Agree5 Disagree7

His transfer record is impeccable you plum.

Sydney!

Agree5 Disagree2

I sense an Arsenal fan above. Yes Fergie has had some awful buys like Taibi, Bellion, Djemba Djemba etc but saying Wengers transfer record is fantastic is just wrong. He has bought some shocking players! Mertesacker, Arshavin, Squillaci and Rosicky are in just the current squad then you can add players like Tavlaridis, Senderos, Jeffers, Stepanovs, Reyes and I could go on.

Blomqvist played in the champions league final in 1999 and we know how that ended up? Disastrous signing, massive mistake winning that Champions League! Does make me laugh when people can't think of another example so they just add a name they think people might agree with.

If in 25 years his 4th worst signing is a player who won us the champions league then maybe in Fergie we should trust??

Add to it that Forlan was terrible at United there was a reason we sold him so cheaply.

Hopefully we will sign somebody in the window but nobody on here knows who it is. It would not surprise me if we wait until summer and hope City collapse at the end of this season and we pick up number 20 with the midfield we have now.

Sorry I meant Ed who is your best bet on coming in?

What a ridiculous and idiotic comment. Every manager makes mistakes in the transfer market. For every Bebe, Kleberson and Djemba Djemba there has been a Schmeichal, Irwin, Stam, Solskjaer, Yorke, Van Nistelrooy, Keane, Pallister, Bruce etc.

How can you claim that Wenger never makes a mistake in the transfer market? You obviously forgot about Stepanovs, Reyes, Arshavin, Wreh, Chamakh, Bendtner, Flamini etc.

United fans trust in Fergie due to the fact that he has made the club what it is today and bought unprecedented success.

That's a flawed statement! Evidence being; Cantona, Cole, York, RONALDO, Valencia, Hernandez, Jones, Keane. The list could go on and on and on......

Go back to the arsenal page mate, just because you lost yesterday don't take it out on one of the greatest managers the world's ever seen.

1. Bebe hasn't been given a chance, albeit the fee was high for him
2. You're concentrating on some of the supposed "bad" signings... here's a few of Arsenals... Chamakh, Squillaci, Rosicky, Arshavin, Walcott (don't argue he's dire) and those are just 4... 2 of them have been recent, Walcott was supposed to be developed into a top player but seems Arsene can't develop youth as well as he could anymore
3. Fergies transfer record stinks? Be serious, Ronaldo, Rooney, Valencia, Vidic, Hernandez... need i go on?

Get a grip and enjoy the trip back from wales

"....Fergie has been very hit and miss with transfers unlike wenger who has made millions for Arsenal while still winning the league, Fergie is a good manager but his transfer record stinks...."

Hmmm, really?
When did Wenger last win the league? You will have to remind me because it's THAT long ago....
I think anyone will agree that Wenger has bought some stinkers too.
Forlan was sold becuase he couldn't cut it in the EPL. Top player but not at his best in England. Rossi was sold because we had Tevez and Rooney at the time, Rossi was a mini version of those two.
Fergie has bought and developed many more top players than Wenger. Who grooms players to be tricky, lightweight and mardy, and they NEVER win trophies.

Blomqvist a flop, LOL - what a joker, this guy never watched United in and around the 1998 - 2001 period, good footballer - not great but definately not a flop......

Fergie has had 3 times the money wenger had, what about veron and berbatov? thats £60 of deadwood right there, rosicky has been plagued by injuries other than that he would have been world class in that arsenal team, arshavin was wanted by every club in europe when wenger signed him, chamakh was free, what about viera? henry? anelka? they were signed at young ages, wenger puts fergie and everyone else to shame when it comes to signing players

Oi!! Jesper was one of my favourite players. i thought he was a great little worker. He is in the bracket of Good bordering V.good IMO! Just a pity with those knee problems.

What about Veron and Berbatov? They both have league winners medals. Which is more than can be said for ANY Arsenal player you have bought within the last 7 and a half years. Wenger used to have an eye for talent but his recent signings have been poor.
