Ed(s) do you know anything on the japanese midfielder linked to us recently? Is he any good and are we after him or is it just a dodgy rumour. Cheers
Caolán. {Ed001's Note - he looks a decent player from the little I have seen, certainly looks to be Prem quality. I have also only heard his name mentioned because of your interest and have been doing some digging. Though the first thing I saw is that he can play in defence as well, which made me suspicious, usually when a team has injuries in a position they get linked to all and sundry. It seems he has been pointed out by Kagawa, that the link is real, but I am not sure if he would qualify for a work permit yet.}

News from Japanese press 16/10. Hideto Takahashi central defender / defensive midfielder from FC Tokyo,
has agreed to join Manchester United.
The fee reported to be in the region of 2 million pounds.

He gave an interview at the start of the week and said he wont be signing a new contract with his club as he wants to play for man united.
dont know if the story of him singing for united is true but it prob came from the interview he gave

16/10/12: FC Tokyo midfielder Hideto Takahashi has apparently told his club that he wants to move to Manchester United to link up with fellow countryman Shinji Kagawa. At least, that's according to Flashfoot, who cite Japanese sources. The 24-year-old has allegedly been monitored by Reds scouts.

Apparently this is being reported in Germany also - as a couple of German clubs, including Borrussia Moenchengladbach (no doubt spelt wrong!), have been linked with him too. The article I read also mentioned Milan as being interested.
Interesting one this, might be a load of old rollocks or there could be some mileage in it?
