Manchester United will try to sign Alexis Sanchez before the transfer window shuts for about 22m i know this from a source can't name them all be revealed soon. United wanted to wait for summer but Chelsea have forced United hand we their approach for the player. Michael Owen will go to Sunderland giving No7 shirt for Sanchez. United had deal in place he is going be new Ronaldo believe me. That was why United have been marketing the Chile ready for summer but everything has been moved forward due to chelsea/ Inter Milan and Barcelona.

Rumours are that Sergio Ramos may leave Real Madrid after a bust up with our beloved Cristiano Ronaldo and breakdown in Contract negotiations.

Wouldn't be a half bad signing, still 24 and the best right back in the world, IMO.

=====================================

"Best RB in the world" - you don't watch him much do you. Sergio Ramos is not in the top 10 RBs in the world and I definitely wouldn't want him agead of Rafael.

Stockie

Agree with Stockie, not as good as Rafael, is a Madrid man through and through like Gary Nev for us. The key words are contract negotiations.
Players like to use us as a way of getting a better pay deal.
No chance of him coming to us.
They are all "falling out" with Ronnie arent they. .

We have Rafael as a RB. There is no need for Ramos who is a defensive liability.

No way is he the best right back in the world. Maicon, Dani Alves and Lahm are far better than him.

I've heard United are lining up a £55m package for Bale and Modric in the summer. i'm sure they will cost a lot more

Could Spurs getting Pienaar be Redknapp preempting a move from united for modric in the future? He'd be just what we need in midfield and I can see him in a united shirt at some stage.

@Apparently Pienaar has snubbed Chelsea for Spurs, apparently Chelsea would only pay him a maximum of 55k a week with no bonuses, Spurs will pay him around the same in wages a week but he feels Spurs have a bright future ahead.

I'm not sure what that says about Chelsea's future?

I very much doubt we will be seeing Macheda come back to OT.

I can see a similar Rossi situation

I, for one, fully expect Ferguson to give Welbeck his chance next season, in a similar position to where he has been playing on the left of midfield, with Gyan and Bent, but what transfer fee would be deemed sufficient to prize him away from United considering the inflationary pressure on all english players, with Downing at 12m and Bent at 24m. I couldn't see Sunderland offering more than 8m myself although I believe he is worth more considering his potential. .and what's going on with the plans for Macheda's future, do you reckon?

No because there isn't time in this transfer window for such a merry go round! Unfortunately transfer negotiations aren't that simple.

Hobbes

*I agree with you in that it is unlikely to happen mate, mainly due to the fact that I don't see Torres leaving Liverpool in January. However, there tends to be much that goes on behind the scenes at football clubs well before we hear about it. The afore mention "merry go round" could probably be completed within 5 days if the correct preparation was in place. Easily.

Could bents transfer trigger the following. Bent sun to villa Carew villa to w'ham c.ole w'ham to liverpool torres l'pool to chelsea Drogba chel to r'madrid benzema to united welback & owen to s'land wellback season long loan henderson part of the deal. Rooney. Berbs, benzema and hernandez as are 4 strikers then wellback in for berb season after next

- - - - -

The following three transfers are all very likely to occur. .

Bent to Villa
Robbie Keane to Sunderland
Downing to Liverpool

The rest I don't know, but Villa will definitely listen to offers for Carew and probably Ash Young too.

Can't see Owen going to Sunderland, he loves where he lives now with his horses and that's too far away. He might move to Everton or Villa though.

Real are trying to get RVN in, but admit it's a difficult deal to complete. Jose clearly does not like Benzema, but whether United really still want him, particualrly as he's cup-tied, I don't know.

Personally (no sources to support my view, just my own judgment), I don't see United signing anyone in Jan unless it's an unknown youngster, or setting up a deal for the summer.

Exactly where has this rumour that we're signing a striker come from, self generated on here I presume?

Michael owen is still getting linked with sunderland and with bent leaving they need a new striker so if he leaves it will leave us with 3 strikers with macheda and welbeck on loan do you think alex would that mean we will buy a new striker or not

"I only knew it was John because my company fitted 2 windows at his house back in 2008. They where walking down the stairs from the suite and a security guard was holding the door open. I was passing at heard it. To be honest im not sure if they said "we can go another 3" or if they said "as 3 but that's it"

By three he may mean employees, coaches, tables and what not, have you taken that into consideration? Didn't mean to have a go, just think its unlikely.

"Agree with you Ed, I would say is that it is hard to believe for two reasons.
1) you can't see someone being so indescreet.
2) I don't know about fellow reds but I wouldn't know the club secretary if I stood next to him

Same here Red Man. Even after 30 years of support i don't know how the club secretary looks like. There have been a few high hellos from SAF and some player autographs while bumping into them in manchester but that is just about it. United is "North Korea" like you mention (not that i complain).

I heard the Secretary's telephone conversation as well, but I was a bit closer. He definately said "we can go another 3 quid for him but that's it". I think the player must be Torres!

Picked up a youth team player last night in my cab. Tells me United are buying a "one for the future" wonder kid called Jamie Ness from Scotland. Anyone know who that is and where from. .?

Great, "we can go another 3 for him but that's it". That says we are skint, if we had money he would say we are only prepared to go 3 more but to say "we can go" says we have no money.
Another window full of no value carp.

{Editor's Note: You don't find the original post ridiculous then? The club Secretary finishing conversations about the finances associated with possible transfers out on the street?}

Qatar unlikely to invest in European Football Club

DOHA — The Qatari royal family is not looking to invest in a European football club despite rumours linking them with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, a source close to the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) told AFP on Sunday.
A report in British tabloid The News of the World claimed on Sunday that the QIA - which invests money on behalf of Qatar's royal family - was preparing a 1.3 billion pounds (1.54 billion euros, 2 billion dollars) bid for 18-time English champions United.
Reports in the French media in recent months have also linked QIA with PSG, claiming the organisation could be poised to take either a controlling interest or a 30 percent stake in the under-achieving club based in Paris's chic 16th arrondissement.
However, the source close to QIA played down the rumours and told AFP that football clubs such as United and PSG did not present the opportunities for reliable returns on investment that the sovereign wealth fund usually seeks in potential business partners.
Nobody from QIA was available for comment.

And people come on here calling me a moran etc. Unfortunately for this website, I am probably the only realist on here. Glazers going nowhere. Qatar not even interested in buying us. As for the debt, where was all the money going before we were in debt? On marquee signings like Bellion I take it, don't make me laugh. At least the Glazers are an enemy (if you want to call them that) that we can see. Other than the clandestine parasites that have raped our club for decades. Who was the last person associated with our club other than true fans like me, who actually put their hands in their pockets and put money in to Manchester United. There you go, so what makes the Glazers such big felons then. The minute United became a PLC we became vulnerable to this. Is it an anti american xenophobic thing. You are not naive enough to think that a Mancunian business man, wouldn't have done exactly the same thing as the Glazers are doing are you. What money did the Edwards put in to Manchester United. What money did Magnier and McManus put in to Manchester United. I will tell you what, a big fat zero.

What I find pathetic in all this is people on here complaining about the lack of investment of the Glazers etc, when we are in the top four, Champions league etc. Don't you round on you owners when you are teetering on the edge of relegation due to lack of investment etc. The real test of our owners will be if we ever begin to look like falling too far behind. I bought a paper this morning and have a guess who is top of the premier league. Right that's it Glazers out, Fergie out, Gill out, not renewing my season ticket. Grow up will you

I don't work for utd and don't know anybody who works there apart from a few stewards.

Been at OT tonight to the club shop for a utd tie of all things! as i was walking out i was walking past the executive sweet following the north stand. In front of me out came John Alexander (club secretary) talking to someone, and all i heard was "well Martin said they are trying to push the price up for him, we can go another 3 for him but that's it"

Who's he talking about? after reading Sky sports website, maybe Sanchez, or am I putting two and two together and getting 5!

Tony

In response to this, it seems like the club secretary was talking about Alex Oxlade Chamberlain of Southampton. Would make sense as SAF recently scouted him, and since the kid is hot property, Southampton are trying to get the best possible price for him (amid their financial restraints).

MU4EVA {ed's note - what financial restraints?}
