Apparently SNeijders dad has told press that mufc have offered him a million dollar contract for five years. Not sure how reputable this is, as a million dollar contract ain't that much so I'm assuming its a figure of speech.

Sambo {Ed007's Note - Someone tried to post a link to the article Sambo, but it didn't work so I didn't post it up}

Believable9 Unbelievable22

Here it is again;

bolognanotizie.com/sport/2011/07/18/41960/calciomercato-inter-wesley-sneijder-ancorain-bilico-offerta-faraonica-del-manchester/

Website crashed earlier as everyone's looking at it. {Ed007's Note - Thanks, it is there now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It could be in Dollars because Nike are paying for it. United are negotiating a new Nike deal and we visited the Nike headquarters today in Portland. All the players travelled there.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely this is wrong. he would want way more than that wouldn't he? $1 million is naff all these days, let alone over five years...

ags

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't speak Italian so take your word for it.
Woffsta {Ed007's Note - It does translate to that Woffsta}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have seen the article and translated it, it states that he has been offered a millionaires contract not a million pound contract so i guess there offering the same terms as rooney gets maybe more

Some asain guy called Steve sim just said SAF to retire in 3 yrs in some report on c4 now he's a close friend of fergies

Believable15 Unbelievable36

I agree, I think he will retire at the end of the 2013/14 season. He will leave the new manager with a very young, very strong squad.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

It was Joe Sim on Dispatches and if he's a close friend of Fergie's then I'm shacked up with Pippa Middleton.

DarkLard08

P.S. I'm not shacked up with Pippa Middleton.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you should be more worried about him being suspended pending a full FA investigation into his activities and links to shady Far East characters

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean links to the businessman who owns a chain of Manchester United themed bars and restaurants in the far East? And who probably comes over twice a year as part of his franchise terms and gets to sit round a table with other United business partners and have dinner with Fergie and Gill? How shocking

I have to say, as well, there's a worrying tone of xenophobia both to Dispatches and to some of the comments here. "Shady Far East characters". Or perhaps you would like to call them wealthy and significant Asian venture capitalists / entrepeneurs instead? Which most people involved in the game in Asia and trying to buy football teams are. Many people's real issue is that Asian economies are more powerful than ours now and therefore they can buy our prestige businesses.

DarkLard08

Agree0 Disagree0

Does look kinda bad fergie in cahoots with some what that report showed as a dodgy buisness man I really hope it's just a harmless buisness dinner there's been enough front page stories about united all I wanna see is lots of big back page stories

Agree0 Disagree0

I fully agree DarkLard, people need to stop with the sterotyping and realise investment is to the benefit of the team. i agree that there is alot of unmoral and possible illegal activities going on in football but if i'm honest i'm much more worried about the unmoral/illegal activities going on in the press in government and in the police as all of these have a much more direct effect on my life than a dodgy deal in a sport. There is corruption in every single walk of life in every single organisation and every country in the world, as it would be impossible to rid ourseleves of it then the only option is to go along with it. it's no good taking the moral high ground when your the only one with morals as no one cares and your the only one who suffers.
Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

Its bad enough with Giggs and Rooney dragging the club through the gutter but the now the gaffer is at

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched the show on c4, fergie didnt really implement himself in any wrong doing but from what i saw bryan robson is in serious trouble

Agree0 Disagree0

All this and im just gutted for darklard08 that he is not shacked up with pippa middleton

great post mate love it

Agree0 Disagree0

Statement at end by Alex focused more on who he told him to bet to win games not really surprised thou have suspected match fixing is rampamt in football

"Forget it. We are looking at some things but I am not so sure Sneijder will be easy to get. I could pick three or four players to come in but they wouldn't be good enough for us, so there is no point.

"I would be happy enough [to continue with the present squad]. Maybe I am a bit overloaded in the strikers' positions. The alternatives in midfield are not nearly as strong. But I have a good squad."

fergies own words.. what did i tell you? dont expect anyone else this is the latest way of saying no value in the market.

Son o'Salford

Believable32 Unbelievable16

He has just admitted that we have a weak midfield, he is still selling Gibson after seeing Scholes & Hargreaves leave. Of course he will bring in another central midfielder.

Come on mate give the man the credit he deserves.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

His latest way of saying there's no value in in the market you go on like he as said every year since he as been here he said it once after we sold ronaldo and if you look at it is there value in the market with player like james milner and andy carroll going for 30m and upwards last season we bought smalling and chico for 19m and won the league if you ask any other supporter of any other team would you prefer to spend that and win the league or would you like to spend 100m and win nothing i think you know yourself which 1 everyone would take i think i lot of united fans just want money spending because city are doing daft things with what they got but lets face they will never be as big a club as us no matter what they spend

its time a lot of people start having faith in what the boss does he as not let us down yet be a supporter and not a fan

M12 RED

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah well after City have signed Nasri & Augero we will see if your still so calm about our midfield chances we were never gonna get Sniejder like van der vaart we missed the boat

Agree0 Disagree0

I will always be calm about my football club i have seen us win every trophies possible in my life time i have seen jack walker and his millions try i have seen the russian mafia and his billions try and if the arabs and there trillions want to try and knock us off are perch then so be it like i said its a faith manchester united and i have every faith that we will never die and as the saying goes if you can't say nothing positive then don't say anything at all

as for when they sign nasri and augero i have seen it all before remember when chelsea was buying everyone who ever kicked a ball a few years ago we are still here so im very calm about it all fergie as forgot more about football then we will ever know

M12 RED

Agree0 Disagree0

Great comments M12 RED very true fergie's never let us down before and anyone who doesn't believe in him im sure citeh are looking for few fans to fill up that £400 million stadium

Forget about sneijder Fergie is happy with he's current squad according to united official website And he will only will try to sign a midfielder that is available and good enough to play for united......

Believable27 Unbelievable17

I thought the idea was to strengthen in trying to catch Barcelona, not go into next season with an even weaker midfield than last season

Agree0 Disagree0

"I could pick three or four players to come in but they wouldn't be good enough for us so there is no point, " added Ferguson.

Bloody hell Fergie - I could pick 13 or 14 players to come in that a million times better than the current central midfielders we've got.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is not what SAF said at all do you have MUTV? if not I suggest you get it and then you will see the full interviews as against reading snap shots
He said he has too many to choose from upfront and would like to strengthen midfield if the right player was available
The important thing in all SAF recent quotes he has not once said his usual
business is over for this transfer window so please be patient
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't expect SAF to say on TV "yeah my midfielders are all shyte its imperative we get someone in who can kick a ball "

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt this happen when becks left. all talk but no one cmon fergie we need sneijder top class

Agree0 Disagree0

We bought ronaldo when beckham left..

Dunphy

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't this happen when becks left? i thought we signed what was is name the lad from portugal no can't think what his name was im sure somebody will know who i mean

time to put your trust in fergie i never heard moaning like this from united supporters until city got there money keep the faith

Is there any truth behind the berbatov stories? Heard Newcastle and PSG are looking at him? If this is the case augero will be a Manchester united player leaving Wayne Rooney to pull the strings in the middle of the park {Ed007's Note - PSG, Valencia, Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen have all shown confirmed interest in Berbatov}

Believable11 Unbelievable34

What the hell makes you think aguero will be a united player if berba leaves?

1redarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

I say this because we would need a top class striker to replace berbatov to ease the pressure on Hernandez and Rooney, augero one of few who would fit into uniteds styll of play who are also available

Agree0 Disagree0

I say this because we would need a top class striker to replace berbatov to ease the pressure on Hernandez and Rooney, augero one of few who would fit into uniteds styll of play who are also available

Agree0 Disagree0

Tbh i'd love to get augero and shift rooney further back because rooney can pass beautifully like paul, besides he played with him so he knows the exact job of the legend himself..
plus augero is the next tevez but less btchy

Agree0 Disagree0

If Berbatov isnt sold inspite of CONFIRMED INTEREST from 4 teams i suppose he still features in SAF's plans for the next season.

MUMBAI_BOY

Agree0 Disagree0

£45 million for Aguero. We've already spent £53 million. Can you see United spending £98 million in one transfer window?

I don't think so.

Agree0 Disagree0

You've got to remember Macheda's back and is looking good. Might elevate him having a full season back at OT. This also frees up the wages of Berba and money if he's sold (not that i think he sould go like). Also by the looks of it Sneijder's looking for some serious coin put 2and2 together i knida fits...

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha aguero get a grip, , , if he comes to prem he will be either at city or liverpool, liverpool only cos hes an lfc fan but i reckon city cos money speaks

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you talkin about Sergio Aguero's 2 year old son?

Even he wont come to Liverpool

MUMBAI_BOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Well aguero said hed love to play for liverpool, , , but i reckon city will get him cos they will pay the most

With the saga of aguero transfer coming to end this week acc. to his agent, , ed, is their any chance of him signing for us?
would be perfect for us?
or is it man sh#ty all the way?
surz {Ed002's Note - It may take longer this week, but Manchester United have previously spoken to his representatives so there has to be a chance - albeit pretty slim.}

Believable13 Unbelievable18

Balotelli tipped to replace Tevez, ..According to The All Sports Show.

They will make a bid for Aguero though., if rooney plays behind the striker/s then we might go for him seriously.

DC_9

Agree0 Disagree0

This could work, aguero up front with hernandez while rooney plays in CAM, we won't need to replace scholes

im quite sick of the whole sneijder conversation sure hes a great player but its taking to long for one reason or another a player who everyone seems to be forgetting in manchester is arturo vidal who is a very good player and would sit into the holding role very well what do you think ed? {Ed002's Note - I think Vidal will like living in Turin.}

Believable6 Unbelievable19

18 Jul 2011 10:38:37
fergie get us ganso hes our man 25million {Ed002's Note - A 40M euro bid was turned down last week and the player wants AC Milan.}

Believable25 Unbelievable22

I thought i heard something about ganso going to ac milan just can't happen due to some reason or other.. besides serie A is the 3rd best league, all the italian teams crashed out in the champions league - roma beaten by a ukraine side, shakter? inter knocked out by a mid table german team, schalke? pfffffffft

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently, hasnt he got dodgy knees? its a gamble? pastore my choice......

Agree0 Disagree0

He might want AC Milan but they can't afford him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso is my choice, but milan (ac.... as far as i know there are no reports linking him with inter) is his prefered destination and he has been learning italian for the last 2 years. There is a slight problem, as milan have some foreign player quota problems, haven't read up on it so i don't know the in's and out's. Ganso himself has stated that he doesn't want to leave Santos until after the world club cup, so this could explain rejected bid.

Could be a bidding war in January....

Agree0 Disagree0

Milan already have a deal in principle agreed with the player. It appears to be a matter of time (and getting their foreign player quota sorted) rather than anything else. I have to say, with all these young Brazilian superstars, I'd rather someone else took the chance on them before us - such a high percentage of them sink without trace when they reach Europe, no matter how good they look back home.

if United fail with Snijder they will turn to 35million rated Hamsik

Believable11 Unbelievable38

Yeah yeah everyone can read the papers, no point putting it on here cz it probably wont happen anyhow
...at least i hope we don't get him, i'd rather have ganso, or douglas costa

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't someone say he had a new contract with an 81m buy out clause?

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Do Napoli not rate him at 100 mil? I'm not saying he is worth that, but if they rate him at that it would take more then £35 million to get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather ganso or hamsik then WS, they are young and less injury prone. I like Costa but he's a winger and we have already got a bigger then needed quota of those. Plus Costa isn't as good as Nani anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Hamsik... This lad has alot of talent but he didn't really show it last season. He has a £100 million price tag on him by the way so we won't be going after him. Cavani also has a 100 million price tag on him so we won't be going after him either.

Agree0 Disagree0

If hamsik leaves napoli it will be for ac milan

Mancini has told that a deal is accepted for tevez from corinthians but as of now he is still a city player..
As for Downing..i remember him being pictured with a liverpool scarf..for which both villa and downing came out to refute that material..after a few weeks..downing ends up signing for liverpool.
With modric, im guessing he too will get his way and eventually join chelsea..
Nasri i think is different since he is in his last year..
Even Ronaldo to an extent..we did hold onto him for one year..
Are clubs nowadays not in a position to hold players who have atleast 2-3 years left on their contracts..Are they really that powerless?
one more example being carroll..wanted to stay then puts in a transfer request..

PS: didnt know where to post it..since its not rumour or banter..

Rudi

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Carroll was forced out by the Newcastle owner. Modric has five years left on his contract. Players seem to hold all of the power nowadays as no one wants a player that don't want to be at the club. I think Modric will end up at Chelsea for three reasons, Modric wants the move and Spurs need to sell before they can buy. I also think Chelsea will do their best to secure the services of Modric simply because their main targets seem to be dropping like flies. Arguably their top three targets Sanchez, Neymar & Aguero look to be heading to Barcelona, Real & City respectively. Even Pastore & Ganso are likely to go to one of the Milanese clubs or to Spain. Luckily for Chelsea Modric wants to stay in London. I think Rolando & Lukaku will sign for Chelsea too.

I still think Chelsea will be our main threat next season, more so than City, but I do believe Chelsea will be slightly weaker than they were last season. Just my opinion.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Certain players are commited to where they are. Paul Scholes is a perfect example of this. He wouldn't have went anywhere no matter what offer came his way.

But that was back in the day when football wasn't about who had the most money.

David Silva... Who would have thought a player with such quality would join Man City of all teams? City showed them the money and he went. He wasn't bothered about the history of the club or how much silverware he's going to win at Man City. Now-a-days football is about money and I hate to say it, but it's true.

Money will make heads turn in the modern football world.

Agree0 Disagree0

The funny thing about the david silva transfer to city was that when he joined he said he always dreamed of playing for city now im not saying he didn't i did not know him growing up but if you work out his age city spent most of there time in the lower leagues and never really doing anything in the premiership till the money came in when he was younger money can obviously make you say and do stupid things
