Rio Ferdinand will leave Man United this summer to pursue a career abroad. America is the likely choice so he can build his brand

Believable40 Unbelievable13

I thought daffy duck was already a brand

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly the way I see things going. Which makes me believe we could go for Cahill in the summer for free. That is if Cahill can weather the storm of bids and offers during January by Chelsea & Arsenal. Has SAF spoken to him and told him to wind down his contract purposely? If he was to join United he wouldn't have to relocate and four CB's of Vidic, Smalling, Jones & Cahill would be good cover. I would offload Evans and bring in Rodwell for the midfield who can cover at CB if needed. Then bring in a 2nd midfielder and a striker. Obviously a LB is needed too. If we sold the below players we wouldn't need to net spend a lot at all. The below players would raise a minimum of £50m and would wipe another £25m off of the wage bill.

Berbatov
Evans
Gibson
Anderson
Carrick
Kuszczak
Macheda
Diouf
Evra
Rio

Yeah thats the way i'm seeing things atm syd, however i do believe if we do sign a new LB in summer which i reckon is pretty likely to happen, Evra wont up sticks and leave straight away. Any new LB we get wouldn't just be thrown into the team but i reckon would alternate with Evra next season, gradually replacing him more and more as the season goes on.

I cannot see Evra staying on past the summer. He is on mega wages and we could get a decent fee for him being still half decent, we also have Fabio who can rotate with the new guy.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferdinand will not be leaving.

He accepts the fact that he is getting old now and that SAF has to give the young ones a run (Smalling & Jones...).

If anything it's doing him good. He can't play every game because of his age and the fact he is injury prone.

Rio has stated before that he accepts it and he thinks it's the right thing not just for the club, but for himself aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd off your list i think that Berb, Gibson and Kuszczak will be first out the door.

Evans i can see staying and rotating for the easier games.

Anderson could go either way in the summer, depends if their are any offers.

Carrick i think will stay for at least 1 more season then end up at Newcastle.

Macheda, i;m really not sure of.

Diouf i expect could go this window if there is any interest if not then the summer.

Evra is all dependent on if we bring in a leftback.

Rio again i'm unsure, either way you can argue a convincing case.

Cahill i remain to be convinced on.

Would you not also consider Park to be on that list of possibles?

I agree, Berbatov, Gibson & Kuszczak will be sold in January. Macheda & Diouf will go out on loan. Cahill will not directly replace Rio, Smalling will replace Rio with Cahill replacing Smalling as a back-up. Cahill is a decent back-up and will get many games to keep him happy just like Smalling got last season and again this season.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I get what your saying, but the guy has been playing for England, and i'm not entirely convinced he would be happy being 3rd choice behind a younger player like Smalling. Even if it is 3rd choice at United. Unless he had some sort of assurance he would be first choice next season.

What do you think on parks future?

thanks Rincewind.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Park will be around for one more season after this one. United play around 60 games a season, our players play around 30-40 games per a season each, so everyone gets a good amount of games mate. Jones was worried about getting appearances and he has played the most games this season out of all the other United players.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

True, guess we will have to see what happens.

Rincewind

Anderson to stay get rid of the rest however we must keep park because of all the shirsts we sell in south korea of park shirts would like to see abla and subotic signed
THE HEMMINATOR

Agree0 Disagree0

I would also add Giggs and Owen to that list as I can not see them being here in a player capacity next seasoon.

Also do you think that we will keep any of the players on loan;

de laet
drinkwater
bebe
brady
norwood
king

Thats a long list sydney,...
I dont think they all will be offloaded in January, could be few though.
Berbatov
Kuszczak
Gibson
Definitely Leaving in Jan.

If we sign someone(Rodwell), we still might keep Anderson, Carrick untill Summer, However there will be someone for LB spot who will be looked.

Rio will leave in summer thats for sure.
SAF again might bring some english player(Could be Cahill as a back up,still he will get ample of first team appearance)

Evra will play one more season after this and then might head to france.

Macheda & Diouf will need another full season on their back with premiership club, then their fate will be decided judging at their performance.

Where as EVANS,..SAF sees something in him,so he has been supported everytime he does something stupid.

Their will be many players heading out in 8 months time,...and only 3 or 4 will be bought.

Bebe is on a two year loan so he will be at Besiktas for another 18 months. Drinkwater, De Laet, Brady, Norwood & King are all available for sale. MD is right there will be another mass clear out between now and the end of the season. I think Norwood, De Laet, Drinkwater, King & Brady will raise around £5m.

Build his brand? He's a nugget! Saying that, thick Yanks will p[robably take to him. To them, he may even come across as a witty, funny guy!

just heard man utd have sent scouts out to look at hazard and alba and are thinking bout making bids for the to players but they are looking at a mid, def,and a left back.

Believable18 Unbelievable8

Hope this is true both quality player and can improve man utd :)

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance United will bid for a winger and a fullback in January. Not much of a chance to buy anyone until the summer. Would love to see a Tiote and Ganso/Erikson in midfield, but if anyone is bought in January it would be someone for under £10m

The media claimed last weekend that Hazard has ditched a move to a Premier League as he is expected to sign a new contract extension at the club he is at now.

Maybe City or Barcelona have the money to break his new contract but I don't think United have... Especially with it being a winter signing.

Jordi Alba looks good though. Young and cheap. Getting some experience by playing in Spain's first team. Has a high potential... I'd like to see him at Old Trafford.

Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool may need to break transfer fee records in order to sign Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas in January according to talkSport!
Is this going the same way it did for Douglas Costa!The next big thing from Brazil,going to take mega bucks bid for his signature,then sign for £10 million to a russian club?What sort of fee do the Ed's think he'd go for? {Ed002's Note - I would not read too much in to teh story. The quoted price was $130M - I suspect he will not leave this winter and they would perhaps be looking for £35M or so.}
