With all these Rumours from Hazard's side and Redknapp's about Hazard i would be disappointed if we let it happen without being interested in the boy...

On the other hand if Hazard does goes to Spurs i do think either of Modric or Bale would be the man to fund that deal for them..

He isn't that good.

Why do spurs need to sell to buy Hazard??? they will get Champions league money again and have lesser players to sell if they need money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably, modric, as he gave in a transfer request during summer. Hope he comes tho, but, it'll cost us. Rather have Eriksen to be honest.

Hope its not modric that utd try to sign, great player but he will be 28 in sept and will cost 30-40 million so not great value for money, also if utd are willing to spent that kind of money, why not spend it on hazard, young player with great talent and would have sell-on value so wouldnt be a waste of money. Firstly i don't see why they have to sell, but i do think that Hazard is a replacement for one of two players - Bale or Van der Vaart as he is either going to play in the hole or wide left. No way would he play wide left and knock Bale out of the team so it could be an indication that he is leaving? To us i hope

Modric is 26. If we got Modric for £30m/£35m it would be a bargain and money well spent. He could quite easily play on into his mid-30s. I am not convinced Spurs will sign Hazard, I still see him ending up at RM. I also see Modric moving on in the summer.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric won't be 28 by the way, he was born in 1985, we would be paying for player just approaching his peak!

Agree0 Disagree0

I still believe he'll end up at either City or Chelsea, we'll see.

Agree with Sydney 100%. Modric would be a fantastic signing for us and money well spent. I just can't see it happening with Spurs on the up and Chelsea on the down it's only really us and City who could afford him, in the Premier League anyway. City don't need him and I just don't feel United will spend that amount on him. Mind you we so nearly spent a similar amount on Sneijder so who know's.

Sorry, he will be 27 in september, its still an awful lot of money for a player that turns 27 at the start of the season. dont get me wrong, i think he's a class player and would add alot to the team, but look at what happened with berba, he was signed at 27 for 30 million. just dont like the thoughts of giving spurs another bucket load of cash for an aging player when there's other players that could be signed that are younger and better value. SportsTotal represents Gotze, and the Daily Mail this week claimed that the company's CEO, Dirk Hebel, had admitted that the two clubs had contacted him over a possible summer transfer.

However, the agency's managing director, Volker Struth, has clarified matters, stating that there had been no contact from Manchester or Turin.

"The reports from England are not true," the representative told Bild.

"This newspaper has not talked with my colleague, Dirk Hebel. The most important thing now is for Mario to get fit again.

"When it all boils down to it, he will play next season with Borussia," Struth reiterated.

Jurgen Klopp's side seemingly have no interest in selling the Germany international, either, with the club keen to keep the starlet for next term.

"We have all agreed that he will play next season in Dortmund," sporting director Michael Zorc adamantly stated.
so maybe not this summer boys
jred {Ed002's Note - I would not be so sure. The clubs making the recent approach were Chelsea and AC Milan.}

This is the player saf should be targeting, he has unbelievable potential for a 19 year old. Also has anyone noticed how similar gotze is to scholes in terms of his build and phisique. Although gotze plays wide and cuts in from either flank for Dortmund, I think he will be an amazing player for united and could be moulded into a world class cm. a potential mid with cleverly, gotze and pogba if he stays is breathtaking. Wow! Sign him up saf

Where did you hear this?

And what makes you say that?

It's a non-story from the Mirror. I for one, don't want to give Spurs another fortune for a player we could have signed for a lot less before he arrived on these shores. We should find a similar (young) player and trust ourselves to develop them.

It is in the people today, so must be true!

The most similar player i've seen to Modric is Marko Marin, he'd cost 15m-ish and be on low wages and is 22/23, Modric would cost at least 35m be on high wages and be 26/27. I know who i'd go for.

Marko Marin spends most his time on the wing. Not sure if he could play as a CM.

So did David Silva and Modric before they moved to Man City and Spurs. I see Marin's best position as on the left of the 3 in a 4231 formation, that way he is more central but has license to move out wide and find space to exploit. If we signed him and Kagawa as well then we could have a team that looks like this in a season's time:

____________DDG
Rafa__Smalling__Vidic__Fryers
______Cleverley_Pogba
__Kagawa__Rooney__Marin
__________Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Fabio, Jones, Carrick, Valencia, Young, Hernandez

Now theres a team that will keep pocession work hard and has the talent to beat anyone. And we could sign Kagawa and Marin for less than what Modric would cost.

Most like modric is eriksson but we would have to pay around 20-30m for him but he is only 19 so worth a punt?

All the stories are just reporting that Luka told close friends that he's glad he didn't make a late move to chelsea as they're in the middle of rebuilding their team. He said he'd prefer United. Doesn't actually mean he wants the move, typical journo's probably engineering a story.

It's no good just keep splashing the cash on these young players, who still have lots to prove. We have loads of them already. We need someone in the middle who has class and [erforms consistently in the premier league

Agree0 Disagree0

No if Man Utd were to look for a young player and develop him, he would just get loaned to Royal Antwerp anyway.
