We are going for van persie, it's going to be ruud all over again

Believable7 Unbelievable61

Not a chance hes 27 gunna be 28 next moth plus he is injury prone and arsenal wouldnt let him leave for less then £25mill they may even hold out for more if we were looking for a fwd i think we could spend that money on neymar, lakuku, mario gomez
THE HEMMINATOR

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance we should go for some one young and creative who can score goals dare i say it anothe hernandez perhaps

Agree0 Disagree0

The chances of us getting RVP are similar to SAF playing as a striker this season

Official Ashley young twitter account, he twitted You cannot buy a Everton shirt with the name 'Rodwell' on the back? just saying folks. keep ur eyes peeled ;) could this mean he's next for united?

Believable14 Unbelievable45

Ashley Young is not on twitter, rio confirmed this last week

Agree0 Disagree0

There is nothing written on Ashley Young's Twitter and you can buy Rodwell shirts.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just checked at Everton FC Store online and this is correct, you cannot choose Rodwell for your Shirt name....

Agree0 Disagree0

Another anonymous post about an alleged tweet without the link. I wonder why?

Ryan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell will absolutely NOT be joining, & neither will Hazard. Shhh

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd you should check before you shoot the guy down you cant buy Rodwel shirts from their online store.

Red Knight.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have checked it out and it's true you can't get Rodwell on your shirt This could however be an error on the website so maybe we shouldn't read in to it too much I thing we need someone more experienced My heart is still set on nasri and tiote/sissoko/m'vila. Get it done fergie Daler-t

Agree0 Disagree0

I did try mate and I could add one to my basket. But if you can't buy one then I did say less than a week ago that Everton readying a £10m bid for N'Zogbia means they have sold one of their players, or at least in principle, because they have NO MONEY

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed Rodwell, but I know that Ashley Young never wrote the message because he doesn't have a Twitter account mate.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell is changing shirt number apparently. That's why his name is unavailable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lads reason that you cant buy his shirt is there is a few squad number changes if ya look at the whole squad there is a few numbers missing

Agree0 Disagree0

No Syd I knew you were most likely right with the twitter thing was just pointing out you cant get Rodwell on a shirt on Evertons online shop.
Could be just an error...who knows.

Red Knight.

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesnt have a twitter acc as not verified by @rioferdy5 so bull mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh god I hope Rodwell the well known Everton sub and reserve team player doesn't come to united. We've already bought a winger and a center back we don't need. Please not another ordinary midfielder
Feel pissed off United won't buy a good midfielder Note SAF praising the ordinary £4m rated Cleverly.Think I'll take up bowls or just get drunk.Don't want the Dutchman, but would love ganso, derossi, M'vila, Hamsik, Erikson. I've loved United man and boy since the Munich air disaster, but us not buying a midfielder or 2 is driving me crazy. Apart for the GK we've wasted £30 million. We've got loads of CB's and wingers, but crap midfielders. Gonna become a Hartlepool fan
Down in the dumps Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Have some faith mik if you have been a fan so long you sure know that SAF has a plan he sees these players everyday so he knows who can make the step up to the team another alternative is to play ashley young in attacking mid behind a rooney chicharito combo could work well imo

just heard a rumour that the glazers have sold united in a deal yet to be announced and thats where all the transfer money is coming from

Believable22 Unbelievable33

And I just heard shergars in next years national

Agree0 Disagree0

We have spent about as much as City are going to spend on one player so there is nothing to get excited about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its true - Lord Lucan & The Yeti Consortium have bought the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Not Glazers fault SAF won't buy any midfielders. we'll just have 5 CB's and 6 wingers playing next year with half a dozen young not ready strikers as subs
down in the dumps Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

The Glazer's will not be selling United anytime soon. Were the most expensive asset in Global sport, as much as I'd love them to sell us it will not be happening soon. Unfortunately guys they are in for the long haul.

Talksport are saying that Wesley Sneijder tweeted saying goodbye to Milan and hopes the weather is nice in England. Apparently this tweet was deleted so can't prove it.

Well hes out of luck then as apparantly its supposed to rain for the next month....welcome to paradise Wesley

ferguson said that sneijder is difficult to get and he is going to sign a midfielder who is available and palermo reported that they received a bid for pastore. maybe utd?

Believable13 Unbelievable30

19 Jul 2011 18:32:14
Costa Rican press are implying that 19 year old striker Joel Campbell failed to sign for Arsenal last night because he had his head turned by an offer from United

Believable32 Unbelievable21

Think with SAF stating he has an abundance of strikers that we won't be buying any more.

Agree0 Disagree0

United make a lot of inexpensive young signings with an eye on the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't rule it out. He said he might move Rooney back into midfield so there is room for a replacement maybe.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2011 17:35:58
according to the m.en, city to hijack snidjer for tevez.....swap deal.

Believable15 Unbelievable31

Told you a couple of times recently "City to hijack Sneijder deal" I'm brilliant

Agree0 Disagree0

SAF could have a bit of fun with this. Citeh's transfer strategy is basically to go for whoever United are interested in. So let's just leak story to the media that we are after some no mark and watch it spiral out of control

The Word

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's go for Emile Heskey and watch City put in a bid for him

BONEYJOE69

Agree0 Disagree0

I was under the impression that city had accepted a bid for tevez from Corinthians is this the case? {Ed007's Note - Mancini said City had agreed a deal, Corinthians denied this, another murky transfer that will probably run and run IMO}

Agree0 Disagree0

But ed doesnt the brazilian transfer window close today? {Ed007's Note - I meant the Tevez transfer to anyone will run and run, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The talk will finish at 4am Thursday when their transfer window closes.

Agree0 Disagree0

City now have an asset that is worthless to USE. They have money tied up in him, but he wants away. Corinthians could not afford him, or get the deal before the tranfer market closes tonight in Brazil. So, the only way City can come out of this with some dignity, is to try to maximise what they can get in a swap deal. Total incompetence and too much money rather than sense.

Ed002 - Not sure if you are about, but can you answer a question regarding Pastore? I can remember you saying weeks ago that Chelsea have agreed to meet his asking fee. What is the hold-up? Is it the way the money is being offered to be paid or is it how much upfront is being offered?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - The hold up is that any deal for Pastore, like deals for Sanchez, Neymar and no doubt others, depends very much on the fickle nature of the parties involved. Another saga to drag out through most of the summer transfer window.}

Believable2 Unbelievable12

It's ridiculous IMO, teams like to have a pre-season with their new players before the season kicks-off. It gives them time to get acquainted with their new teammates and they have time to move their families over to get settled. When spending £40m+ on a player, you expect to get them early on in the window.

The messers are obviously trying to get the best deal for themselves, but when a club agrees to your valuation, surely it's common courtesy to agree the deal, or at least ask the player if he wants the move. Ed, if you are getting peeved off with this, imagine how the chief executive is getting on.

With our work permit issues, the fact that we cannot part-own players and the fact that Brazil's, Spain's & Italy's tax are all lower than ours does make it hard for us to conclude deals. People may disagree but climate is also a big factor in certain players decisions too. If we could rewind back to the beginning of the last summer window, players like Sanchez, Pastore, Ganso, Neymar were being valued at £17m, £30m, £25m, £25m. Now clubs have got greedy and are not in any rush to let them go.

Ed, is it because they know Chelsea have to buy this summer, do you think Chelsea buying Torres for £50m & Luiz for £25m in January has made these teams play hardball? Knowing that Chelsea will pay astronomical prices simply because they have to buy this summer? What do you think mate?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - No, it has always been tough to deal with the likes of Palermo. Players are away at so many tournies in the summer now it makes no odds. And as I have said, try not to get wrapped around money and tax laws.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, do you expect any other clubs will match Chelsea's bid for him?

Matthew... {Ed002's Note - Manchester City have already had a bid turned down. Malaga, Manchester United and Anzhi might come to the table. Roma will offer a part ownership deal and less cash. Who knows.}

Palermo have said a big European club have made a bid for javier pastore and now it's den to his agent to sort the rest out. I wonder if it's united we have been linked with him earlier in the year

Believable13 Unbelievable25

Very doubtful, fergie will never pay that much and i honestly believe fergie has been put off buying argentinians after veron, heinze and tevez were all pains to deal with, he seems to have turned to brazilians lately, i think theres better than pastore out there anyway, overpriced imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Very doubtful yes better than him out there no but will be the best player in his position in the world in 12 months time light years ahead of any1 else

Agree0 Disagree0

He cannot be that concerned with Argentinians after trying to sign Aguero this summer and Di Maria last summer.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

So who do you rate better than Pastore if there is much better out there? For me, along with Sanchez and Neymar he is the best of the young players around, hence all the interest in them

Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso, erik lamela, mario gotze coutinho all better no doubting pastores ability but i dnt think hed be strong enough to impose himself on the EPL imo

Another rumour going about is that man utd are interested in highly rated midfielder cristian erikssen from ajax. The 19 year old is apparently worth in the region of 25 million.

Believable31 Unbelievable32

Wud love to see this happen although I can see Erikssen staying on at Ajax for another year. Can see him ending up in Italy for the likes of juventus perhaps....

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

He's only interested in a move to spain - ie barca or real?

But, if he was signed buy us, then, superb

Agree0 Disagree0

Divide the amount by 5 and then the rumour might just be readable

How bout bidding for parker....seems class ad cheaper than so called sissoko and l.diarra. plus he's english

Believable26 Unbelievable46

No better than the guys we already have. Just be increasing the numbers of mediocrity we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Parker looks better at West Ham cos he is a defensive player and West Ham spend almost all the game defending.

Ed, 002/7 Do u think this is the right time to put Morrison and pogba into first team?

MD_11 {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable36 Unbelievable9

If we don't sign anyone yeah we might have to {Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being funny, Fergi said he wants to get closer to Barca. If we put youth in its going to take time for them to develop into world class. Although these 2 will be amazing in years to come.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba is far too good to be allowed to stay in the reserve team. He needs to be given a challenge of real football. The reserve league is of a worse standard than is seen on many pub pitches week in week out. He either needs to be thrown into the first team squad or sent out on loan to another Premier League side. His development which has been amazing since he arrived 12 months ago will only be stifled by remaining in the reserve team.

Personally having watched him last season, he's better than Gibson ever will be, and IMO a better prospect than Cleverley.

We cannot stand still in the midfield department, something has to change, and rather than put up with the dross that is Fletcher, Gibson and Carrick, if we cannot sign someone, I'd much prefer we go back to what United does best and give youth a chance.

I don't really care about catching Barca, as long as we are in contention for the PL year on year I'll be happy. The league is the most important trophy there is. Unfortunately this is something Ferguson seems to have forgotten.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Unfortunately this is something Ferguson seems to have forgotten."

you are an idiot.

Agree0 Disagree0

These posts seem to be slightly short-sighted and disrespectful. Fergie will blood these players in the relevant competitions if their form warrants it. Secondly, United is an ethos, much bigger than a group of A list stars, we cannot cherry pick the best talent, we have to invest time in developing. we have been enjoying our most successful period ever and I feel some fans have been spoilt. We have always used a squad and a collection of versatile individuals to instill competition and a winning mentality. We can not (as many teams have proven) have a squad of thirty of the best young players on the planet, financially it's not possible, it is more about balance and development, than investment. I blame computer games, it's all fantasy.

Agree0 Disagree0

"unfortunately this is something fergie seems to have forgotten"

lets all laugh at the person who posted this

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon we should give em both a chance pogba is too god for youth team football and reserve team football he should be on the bench for us and play him as cover morrison should be sent out on loan till jan then decide what to do with him

SAF will sign Diarra and Kaka within a week to complete spending.

Diarra for 10m
Kaka for 25-30m

This will give us the DM and AM players we need

Believable11 Unbelievable71

I doubt either of these are on the shortlist.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope to Christ not Kaka is past it and Diarra's attitude is all wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

SAF will sort out diarra and SAF know best about Kaka if this is true

Agree0 Disagree0

People posting that United are going to buy Kaka for 30 Million are either playing FIFA on there PC's or counsels. No nothing about football- or have been in a coma for 3 years. - He's shot - had it - finished as a top level performer. Next it will be United want Beckham for £50M

Hearing Ganso rumours? Looks a class act, young lad. That bit of flair and drive in the centre of the park. Fed up of Snejder talk I think definitely another signing before the window shuts, maybe 2? Fergies in his re-building period, he builds young teams, moulds them into champions, the last time was when we won it 3 years on the bounce (PL) Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo Very optimistic about the season ahead, alot of competition for places, healthy in any club Any thoughts ED?

Believable29 Unbelievable20

Ganso is nailed on for AC Milan, probably moving there in January.

DarkLard08

Agree0 Disagree0

Santos have some fantastic young players such as Ganso & Neymar but they're desperate to play in this year's club world cup, so would be unlikely to move before the January transfer window.
