Reports this morning that Ed Woodward is in Barcelona, I wonder why.

Believable51 Unbelievable50

To sell vidic to them so don't get your hopes up.

It's a lovely city with lots of history I'd advise him to steer clear of los ramblas though with all those pick pockets an him telling every1 how much money he has!

Agree3 Disagree1

Where does it say that.

Agree2 Disagree1

No brainer! to sell nani
RumourNo. 1

Agree0 Disagree1

Not for cesc as Barcelona have said he is not for sale. Looks like we will have a sub standard midfield again this season. let's all start praying now that the rest of the prem play as badly this season as they did last or we will be in real trouble. Squeaky bum time.

Agree3 Disagree3

Marca suggesting Garay deal to United is already done. Bit of a crap source, however Garay is half owned by Real M so in this case it could be a credible source!
MWRedArmy

Agree0 Disagree1

To sell Nani? Why are Espanyol interested?

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who said we will have a sub standard midfield again, David Moyes knows the midfield is poor. Do you honestly think he is not going to sign anyone?. He isn't stupid, after all his career is on the line. He will sign some quality, loads of time yet in the window. Have a bit of faith in him.

Agree2 Disagree0

To the poster above, I accept that the windo will be open for about another 6 weeks, but who is there going to be left to buy. Oh that's right, the players nobody else wanted. All the big teams in Europe have already bought if not one, several players. Barren Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Dortmund, Chelsea, juventus, man city, psg. Why don't we wait until the last day of the window and then over pay for players nobody else wants. that is bound to deliver success.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just watching the Telekom cup on esbn. We really missed out on Thiago Alcantara. Cost less than we have offered for fabergas. Why exactly did we not buy him? What a mistake. He does not look out of place in an excellent bayern Munich team. And he has had less than a week to train with them. Oh what could have been.

Agree0 Disagree0

Above poster, this is true what your saying, but at the same time Cesc has premier league experience which is a massive advantage, he's played at big clubs, obviously played with RVP before.
Cesc is also in his prime right now.
The pleasing part of the deal is that Barca won't come knocking again for him in a couple of years. With Neymar now there, I can't see him playing hardly at all.
£30m for a proven talent, ill take that!

Melwing28

Agree1 Disagree0

Mewling, I would take thiago, save some cash and use it to buy someone else as well. Less cash spen on cm means more cash for lb or bale or another player. Putting all your eggs in one basket is never a good idea. And despite what moves and Woodward are saying, we are a business, we will have budgets/ a finite amount to spend on new recruits.

Agree0 Disagree0

How did we miss out on Thiago Alcantara? was an official bid made? were we ever really in for him? did he choose bayern over man utd? If indeed there was any interest and he chose bayern over us, then we haven't missed out as he would nver have come in the firstt place. lose the negativity and enjoy the window while its open, have faith in the new manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

If someone is available and you don't bid, then someone else buys, you have missed out on an opportunity. Thiago was ridiculously cheap and supremly talented. Utd should have bought him or at least bid. Whether we bid or not, maybe we will never know, but the point is we should have. Even if he does go back to Barcelona in 2/3 years, do you think it will be for a low transfer fee? No they will have to pay through the nose for him so from a business sense it adds up and from a necessity perspective on the pitch it adds up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes didn't want Thiago, is that still not clear?

Moyes confirms the offer for Fabregas and says he's hopeful of getting a deal done and is expecting good news on players within the next few days.

Believable38 Unbelievable25

Would be over the moon with Baines & Cesc signed up. I expect Garay will sign and then I imagine attention will turn to Fellaini or Kondogbia. Unless Garay too isn't wanted by Moyes?

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Would love to see fabregas fellani and baines 3 great signings and would bolster our midfield

Agree2 Disagree0

What did the Moon do to deserve you "being all over" him?
Poor Moon!
:D

I'd love to sign Cesc, not digging Baines though

Agree0 Disagree1

All this talk from Arsene Wenger, don't read too much into this but what if Arsene has agreed for us to get CF as long as we accept Arsenals bid for WR.

Just speculation

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed said not long ago he expected us to sign a left back and center mid. Fabregas and Baines would be an epic summer if it was only them! Perhaps if we get a few players out like Nani, Ando, Macheda, Bebe, Tunnicliffe we might have more space on the wage bill and funds to at least try for Bale, no matter how unlikely it is.

Dan

Agree2 Disagree0

Would love Cesc to come to OT, but feel pretty negative about our chances of getting him. I feel it's time we bought those we know we can get, before chasing the maybes. Fellaini and Baines should be bought, or at the very least Fellaini. Then maybe we should try to grab Eriksen, if Cesc doesn't seem likely. If we sell Rooney for an absolute minimum of 30 million and the 8 that are meant to be going for 20m+, We could get Fellaini, Baines and Eriksen without hardly dipping into monies not earned from sales. If it was Cesc rather than Eriksen we would still have parted with less than 20 m leaving us money for one or two exciting pacy young players like Bernard or Draxler. At the end of the day I'd settle for the Everton 2 and Cesc or Eriksen happily. Anyone apart from these would be a bonus. For all the Fellaini haters, take a look at the last 4 times we've played Everton, you will find he bossed us around with skill and power and not a little muscle. Of course like everyone else I'd like Bale, or Ronaldo, but I can't see Levy selling Bale to us and CR7 will be 29 during next season, so 70 - 80million is just too much even for him at that age
Mik

Agree0 Disagree2

Mik - of course Fellani has bossed us ther. We have needed to sort midfield for a few yrs. Does not mean he should be the one to do it.

Agree0 Disagree2

Mik, I don't think anyone doubts Fellaini's ability in the premier league, but there is a lot of doubt over his suitability for top level European competition. Having one slow midfielder is doable, but Carrick and Fellaini would have rings run around them in Europe.

I know Fellaini can move pretty quick, but he is slow off the mark and needs a bit of distance to get up to speed. He also gives way to many fouls, which will only increase against the increased numbers of smaller, tricky midfielders in Europe.

However, playing behind the striker his power might be more useful, but we have Kagawa there, and having a big man up front makes it too tempting for other players to lump the ball forward under pressure.

Erikson is off to AC Milan, done deal! Rooney WILL NOT be sold this summer, fact! Garay hearing done deal, looks like we'll get Baines as Everton closing in on his replacement, hopefully add Cesc and Fellaini to that and I think that's a good summer. Whatever anyone thinks of Rooney, there's not another forward good enough to replace him atm, they've all moved on. One question I would have for the fans, Nani? I've pulled my hair out over the last season in frustration but with a lack of quality out there for LW position do we stick with him in his final contract year?

Langers

Agree0 Disagree1

How many times has Nani played LW?

Brendan81

Everton fan in peace. I'd just like to say to the doubters in Fellaini's abilty, he will prove you all wrong if he signs (hopefully not). Saying he is proven in the PL but may not be good enough in the CL is ridiculous. The man is head and shoulders above any Manchester United midfielder. He is pure class and you will be raving about him if he signs. I have watched practically every game he has played for Everton and I can honestly say I could count the poor games he has played for us on one hand.
