united to sign modric cause tottenham dont have champions league football 2 years running

Believable19 Unbelievable7

Bale could also be going elsewhere (but maybe not united)

Red steph

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont mind only if we can sign him for 25m or less

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric will be available this summer without a doubt, but will Spurs price him out of a move? I wouldn't want to spend more than 25m on him.

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - I would not spend anywhere near that on him. He is reportedly for sale for 30-35 million, that could get you Kagawa, Izaguirre and Eriksen... Or something along those lines}

Agree0 Disagree0

I like modric i think his a good player but not great eriksen for me is still potential and i mean that as his a good player now but his 2/3 years of being a great player .
strootman kagawa etc are all good and would improve us .
hazard and martinez are special and a lot better than the rest if we are going to make a statement one of them will do.
neymar is a barce/madrid type player but i honestly believe he will be very special.

Man Utd will wrap up the signing of Shinji Kagawa in the next week or so. TBH i think he'd be a good signing for us.
On the hazard situation, we will find out on sunday night or monday night at the latest. Would love to see him at United, but personally think he will go to city. (I wonder why?).

A couple media sources saying we have signed Powell from Crewe for £4m.

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - Crewe were looking for £5 million plus add ons Syd.}

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Well there has to be a compromise and 4m plus add-ons must be the accepted fee. We will see I guess.

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - Still a bargain Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To follow up on my recent posting on this topic, I guess it might mean that SAF knows that Pogba is on his way to Italy.
Mike B.

Agree0 Disagree0

De Laet & Matty James out, Willems & Powell in? Haven't seen much of him to be honest.

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - If it's true then AF has played a blinder Syd, apart from Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and Spurs are all more than interested in him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't be surprised to see Barkley pursued next if Powell is now a United player. Perhaps not if Pogba stays put.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

You've got to be kidding, well that shows where we are money wise {Ed004's Note - What does, the fact we are signing out and coming stars, the likes of the OX and all were signed like this would you refuse them now}

No expression of "Sources close to the club undertsand that ... " or "Daily Sport believes that ... ". But, how relaibale is the Royal Mail?
There is nothinh on MUFC website as of 22.45 this evening.

Agree0 Disagree0

I fed up signing up and coming players , our squad is full of them, we're competing with a team full of proven class players unless we buy a few ourselves we'll end up like arsenal miles of top. Hazard won't join, I doubt kagawa will either so we'll be stuck with a load of unproven talent and players that are years past their best, the line of no value at the moment wil come out to hide the fact the glazers have bled us dry.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2012 21:40:36
We should sign alba to give evra competition. He hasn't been great this season. We also need a holding midfielder like Martinez. Kagawa would also add great creativity.

So here is the Hazard latest... He was apparently at Old Trafford yesterday (don't buy it) and next week LOSC Lille will hold talks with both Man Utd and Man City about a possible transfer fee. It is reported that both teams only feel they should be spending around £25 million pounds on him. I think both clubs will agree a fee for the player but it all depends on the player... I hear he wants guaranteed first team football and this is why he was more favoured to be going to Tottenham Hotspurs, but since he has said he is coming to Manchester I think it will be the Red of Manchester he will be wearing. This " I will be wearing blue" quote is bullsh*t he didnt say it and it was the press twisting his words (as I have seen the actual interview). He gets double his originial Nike wage when he plays for a team sponsored by Nike and this is how we will manage to compete with City.

19 May 2012 18:20:37
I heard we are looking at sone fella called mayuka. Anyone heard of him?

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Oh! Hope its not the Zambian fella. He is not United quality. Good player though. I think he is currently plying his trade in the less glamorous leagues of Europe!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Emmanuel Mayuka is an excellent striker playing for Young Boys in Switzerland. I don't think he's Man Utd quality (and that's coming from a Zambian), but I reckon he'd be a great addition to teams like Tottenham and Newcastle (who were after him before they signed Cisse). The truth of the matter is that Mayuka is a better all-round player than Cisse. He is also lethal in front of goal and his goal-to-games ratio is as a good as anyone. Hervé Renard (the Zambia coach) has shown a lot of faith in him, and that's why he was key to Zambia's AFCON triumph in February.

Ed, what do you think Hazard for the new No.7 and Welbeck being promoted to the No.9 when Berbatov leaves or do you see us doing a double swoop for Lewandowski to make him the No.9 aswell as Kagawa? Thanks, {Ed004's Note - I don't know who will get the number 9, however I don't think we will be signing Lewandowski}

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Okay that's not a problem just a thought. Would like to see a new striker coming in though such as Lewandowski, Cavani, Llorente or even Higuain in a swap for Nani if we do suceed in the Hazard aproach. {Ed004's Note - I don't think we need a striker for next season if we are converting to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 fluid formation with Rooney as the sole striker}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah true i forgot about that, didn't we play 4-5-1 against Sunderland? Rooney doninated that game and could have got 5,6 goals really good perfomance and would like to see it again. {Ed004's Note - Yes that is why I feel we are going to be changing to that formation next season and I feel thats why we are reportedly going for Kagawa and Hazard}

Agree0 Disagree0

What if Rooney gets injured? {Ed004's Note - Well then you have Welbeck and Hernandez to cover until January and then you evaluate the situation from there}

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we'll get hazard in a million years

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard likes number 10 and will be given number 10 cause Dzecko is leaving. That's the truth and that hurts me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed

I have to disagree on your premise that we if an injury happened to Rooney we would evaluate in January. Firstly we don't buy big in January as what high quality striker would be available in January who could play in the champions league. Secondly what would we do if Rooney was injured on 1st February ?

We may change the formation but for me Rooney is not a great lone striker

Red Man {Ed004's Note - I disagree... Rooney on another day against Sunderland would have hit a hattrick and season Rooney scored the most goals for us he was the lone striker with only really Valencia supporting him. If we buy players like Kagawa, Hazard along with an improved Nani and Valencia etc he will score so much more it is scary..}

Agree0 Disagree0

Teams have got to get the funds to buy Dzeko first. His agent come out and said that italy would suit him but no team can pay City the price they want so i can't see him leaving imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed

I rate Rooney highly even though he hasn't looked as convincing this season as he has in others. However I am not convinced we will change to one up front and if Rooney was injured I would fear the goals would dry up. Top teams would know marking Rooney would restrict us. It may be my perception but Rooney looked laboured when sprinting this last season. A lone striker needs pace and power like Drogba unless we totally change to a Barcelona formation

Red Man {Ed004's Note - Not if we have a very creative midfield then you couldn't just mark Rooney, if I had my way how could you mark only Rooney if you had the likes of Ozil, Kagawa, Hazard and Nani attacking you, along with Rafael and Izaguirre?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed

But how many goals are in those names you mentioned? If teams are tight on the only natural goalscorer I would feel comfortable playing against us

Red Man {Ed004's Note - All of them have goals in them. Hazard 17 goals in French league, Nani would hit 10 goals a season in the league, kagawa will score 10+, Ozil scores 10+. Vidic and Smalling are dangerous in the air}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed

I can see we are going to disagree

Hazard has scored in the French league , the English league will be tougher, for me it would be a major risk to rely on goals from midfield

Red Man {Ed004's Note - Thats why you have Welbeck and Hernandez who will both score 10+ goals a season}

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to agree with ed if rooney injured and we got great creativity in the team thn hernandez with is poaching skills and movement would be unstoppable!!

DIO

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a good formation actually, we will have different strikers to rotate, and they have all different abilities which teams will be hard to get used to in the match if we changed strikers during it. {Ed004's Note - Or if it where at all possible, as much as I hate the man, Drogba would add a different style of play if it was required and he wouldn't cost us, so money could still be spent on the midfield. I doubt it will happen though}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, can you shed a little light on this Asamoah rumour please? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I still suspect that Asamoah will move to Juventus with Pazienza staying at Udinese as part of the deal. There has been talk that Juventus are offering part ownership of Marrone and will pass on their part ownership of Immobile as part of the deal. Milan, Arsenal, Napoli, PSG, Manchester City, Nice, PSG and Manchester United are known to have enquired after the player as well.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Ed002 do you think that the Asamoah deal would influence the decision of Pogba? I thought that the whole point of moving to Juve was because they would play him more often. Surely with the wealth of midfield talent they have, and are looking at, there would be more competition for places than at OT?

TK-Red {Ed002's Note - It will make no difference -to the situation with Pogba.}

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2012 17:16:52
Take this how you will, but it does look like we are going for cheaper, 'powerful' players in the middle of the park. According to the press a bid was rejected for Kwadwo Asamoah and also we backed out of a deal for Wigan's Diame as he has a heart problem. Strootman is also being closely monitored by all reports. Sami Khedira has been watched several times this seasn. Possibly Steven N'Zonzi might be a name that pops up in the future.

Out of all the realistic options, i hope that Strootman comes in, he really is a classy player.

Juventus are expected to officially announce the capture of Paul Pogba from Manchester United on Monday.

The 19-year-old midfielders contract expires in June and Sir Alex Ferguson urged him to stay at Old Trafford.

However, it is widely reported that Juve have convinced Pogba to try Serie A and will present him to the media after the Coppa Italia Final.

As things stand now it is more likely that he goes away from Manchester, revealed agent Mino Raiola this week.

Its believed Manchester United will receive only £300,000 compensation for the French talent.

Believable12 Unbelievable12

It's quite unbelievable how dumb this kid is. He'll be a bench player in Turim, as the midfiled of Juventus already have Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal.
All of them received waving praises and it would just be too difficult for him to actually play in more than 20 games, whereas in Manchester United it's a no brainer that he'll actually receive a lot more chances with the crisis in the midfiled.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is old news, since that day he has started the Senior Cup final and looked pretty happy after we beat City in that Cup.

You never know what might happen.

There's a couple of team posts up here today and the past few days actually where people have suggested we buy Hazard, and then have left Nani out of their squads. So am I to presume that the general idea is that Hazard comes in and we sell Nani?

I would keep them both.. why bother selling one. Nani is brilliant.

Joe

Believable17 Unbelievable8

Nani's contract will exprire in 2 years and negotiations seems to have stalled as he's asking more than 110,000 a week.
Not only that, but he's quite inconsistent and even in bigger matches he's not that good.
He might be one of the best wingers in the world, but for a club that is always involved in big matches, and having Hazard and Valencia, it'll be just a waste of money.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's our best winger in my opinion.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant is slightly over egging it i would describe him as sporadically brilliant and at one of the worlds biggest clubs is that enough no!

Agree0 Disagree0

Being brilliant in 2 games out of 10 isn't enough at this level.

Nani's problem is that his lowest level of performance is VERY low, pretty much Blue Square kinda level.
And that's what we get roughly 8/10 matches.

We need to get rid.

Pritpal {Ed004's Note - I don't understand some fans... They moan about how players show no loyalty to clubs and how they don't work hard for clubs yet here we have Nani who is desperate to stay and play with the club because he has stated he loves playing here and that Manchester is his home. He is still young and I still feel he will become consistent. He was consistent at the beginning of the season before he got injured so I for one am totally against selling him and I think he will be vital next season if we are implementing a more fluid system like at the beginning of the previous season}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd sell Young, if I was to sell a winger. I'd also sell Valencia before I sold Nani. Valencia is excellent, but predictable, he is so one footed it's unreal. Nani has two good feet and even in a game where he is below his best, is likely to bring out something brilliant. Anyway, the Nani rumors in the papers are phoney and meaningless, they say "IF he stalls on his new deal of 130,000 per week, United would sell" One paper, the Mail I think goes further and says United are testing out "IF there are buyers, because his contract talks MAY have stalled" I think Hazard is a top player, but nearly always plays as a winger, at least the times I've seen him. I would buy him if we were to sell Young or had 80million+, but failing this it's the center of the midfield that need strengthening.Kagawa is a 2nd striker who can also play on the wing, so he also isn't the answer, though he would be a good and cheap addition. M'Vila and Strootman or Fellani and Eriksson. This is where we really need to buy. M'villa 17 million, Eriksson 20 million, Kagawa 8 million and Cissoko 15 million = 60 million would be my choice. That's if we sell 25 million's worth of players and can get the Glazers to part with 35 million. If not we'll have to buy a left back in 2013
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

With all due respect but I disagree with you, Ed.
He might say he wants to stay because in just a few clubs he has the possibility to enter Champion League, almost every year, as a serious contender.
Asking for an astronomical salary does not actually shows that a player is truly commited to the club, but for its money.
I do feel he likes to play for United, but now is not the time to ask for a big salary, as he still have a lot to prove. He's an important player, but still not a key player, not the rightful successor to Ronaldo and Beckham.
I like him, but wouldn't mind selling him to have cash enough to bring in a more consistent player. {Ed004's Note - How do we know for certain he is asking for a pay rise? It is only media speculation and has he even began contract negotiations?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't Cissokho bought by his current club for the price of... 15 million? Why would Lyon sell a starter player for the exact same price? He will not come that cheap, although I admire this player specially.
M'villa seems to be really good but his asking price was pretty high too.
Erikssen would be good, but he already said that he wnated to stay for at least one more year.
To sum it up: what a hell of a team it would be with the addition of all these players!

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep Nani AND Valencia. Get a new left winger and keep Young as second choice. Simples

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesnt matter whether he's loyal or not he is very inconsistent and he slows the game down terribly nani has to go

Eds, has there been any further rumours around Iker Muniain? I read somewhere on here a while back that Bilbao wanted over the top money for him. Hopefully they would be willing to lower their asking prixe. He looked a real class act in the Europa League, can't say I saw him in La Liga though.
Hallis {Ed002's Note - Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao in January - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Roma interest is still there and rumours abound of Juventus and Malaga interest but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Ed002 must have saved this reply somewhere on his PC, must be atleast the 5th time the same reply was written to 5 different ppl. Rumours of Ole turning down villa.

Jamesmack8

Believable24 Unbelievable2

You're stupid. He hasn't even been given an offer, he was only at Birmingham to discuss with them. BUT, the rumors are that OGS is now their first priority, which is quite understandable!

Noxas

Agree0 Disagree0

Noxas

Actually if anyone is stupid it is you for resorting to that kind of childish retort to a post, especially considering what he said looks to be correct & it is your rumour that appears to be wrong.

OGS has come out & said he will be staying at Molde. That means most likely HAS turned down the opportunity to be considered any further for the post.

Checking online for about 10 seconds would have confirmed this, which I recommend you do in future to save any embarrasment!

Spirit of '68'

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he came out and said that he will be staying at Molde.. But he also said that he wasn't out there to listen to an offer. It was only because they wanted to get to know each other.

And after what happend at Molde yesterday, OGS would really consider an offer from Aston Villa. You know what happend, right?

He said that Aston Villa is a giant club in the British league-system. And he would be stupid to not consider the opportunity of managing a team of that size.

But i belive that OGS will stay at Molde this season, before taking the huge step. After all, i think he wants the United job later on. Which i hope he gets, not only because he is a United legend, the babyface assassin. But because he knows Man Utd so well, and that he already have proven himself as a good and upcomming manager!

Noxas

Agree0 Disagree0

Im stupid? Bit harsh mate. He went to discuss the role. They were willing to offer it to him and he has said hes staying. No matter what sugar coat you put on it, he has turned down the opportunity. End of discussion. muppet.

I know a lot of people here are desperate to sign Hazard, but I just hope we wrap up the Kagawa deal. I think this guy will improve so much in England, and if we lose out on him it will be a big mistake. I also think he is closer to what we need - a tricky goal scoring CAM, whereas Hazard is more of a direct winger. I think Kagawa is the type of shrewd business that for example Newcastle have been doing of late eg Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa. Getting quality players who slip under the radar because of their smaller price tags.

Believable26 Unbelievable2

Kagawa was one of the best midfielders in germany last season. The only reason no other clubs seem to be interested is because he said he wanted to plau for united

Believable10 Unbelievable24

Some people are overly pessimistic. The club has huge amounts of debt, but based on key financial figures has a lot more to spend than it let's on.

The glazer's may have shelved plans for a partial floatation for the time being, but it isn't off the agenda, and they are also looking at alternative methods of investment. Either of these would speed things along nicely.

As far as I can see a big signing is definitely not out of the question from a financial point of view.

Unless SAF has told you personally, I doubt you know how much United are willing to pay for any player.

Why do a lot of posters on this site try and state their opinion as a fact?

CnM

I think hazard will cost city or united 25m up front with 5m clauses .
but i can see united sacrificing nani to fund the deal and us transfer budget on a striker ,kagawa and a box to box strootman hopefully before ac nip in cjwales82

Agree0 Disagree0

Not in the know, it's my opinion, I just wouldn't hold your breath for a "big money" signing, the way the club is financially is there for all to see. Fergi will look at quality players but at reasonable prices. Maybe Sigurdson an Baines are more realistic!

Lille midfielder Eden Hazard may choose to move to Manchester United rather than to cross-town rivals Manchester City. That’s according to one newspaper report which claims the 21-year-old Belgium international is worried about a possible lack of first-team opportunities at City.

We reported yesterday that Lille will open talks with both Manchester clubs this week over a move for Hazard which could cost either of them as much as £32million. Lille are looking for 40million euro for their star turn although United – as well as City – are looking to shell out a maximum of £25million.
Earlier this month Hazard told a French TV programme that he was likely to “play in blue” next season, but the Mail claims he is now having second thoughts and could start next season playing in red.

Believable8 Unbelievable36

Really don't understand where people are getting this Falcao stuff from. He cost them 40m euros why would they sell him for 30m.

TM {Ed001's Note - he didn't cost that much and they only own a 3rd of him.}

Ed, Falcao did cost 40 million euros, with the fee potentially rising to 47 million based on performance-based clauses. He was sold to Atletico with Ruben Micael for a combined 45 million in Summer 2011.

J {Ed001's Note - ok, whatever, Porto only received 20m, as I said they only part owned him and so do Atletico.}

Just a simple question which may show the state of our squad,if Utd was to put both Da silvas,Evans,Carrick,Anderson,Cleverley,Park,Welbeck,Berba up for sale how much do you think we would get?&who out of top european clubs would buy?

Believable7 Unbelievable14

50 PENCE AND NO-ONE

Lol, thats selling alot of people man.

Rafael- 5m (Liverpool/Everton)
Evans- 2.5m (West Ham)
Carrick- 8m (Everton)
Anderson- 6m (West Brom)
Cleverly- 5m (Fulham)
Park- 2.5m (Everton)
Berbatov- 2m (Liverpool)
Welbeck- 9m (Newcastle)

That's 40m. Enough to get Hazard? xD 8 players gone, and maybe can't even afford Hazard. {Ed004's Note - Some fan you are...*sigh*}

Agree0 Disagree0

By saying 'the state of our squad' I'm assuming you think it's bad?...do you refer to the same squad that lost out on the league with the last kick?..the same squad that's won two out of three titles and been to last years CL final only to be beaten by a fantastic Barca side?..I'm sure most fans of other clubs would love our squad!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure most clubs would go for de gea especially barca and madrid he might not be first choice straight away tho
da silvas i can see alot of clubs going for them all the elite ones in europe who wouldnt want 2 young brazlian fulllbacks with huge potential?
anderson would have a few Portuguese clubs maybe some spanish after him
berbas leaving in the summer so we will no who wants him then hes past his best as is park who may go to a midtable prem team or some foreign country
evans also some midtable team maybe an everton or fulham even
clev carrrick and welbeck would be wanted by most prem teams

Agree0 Disagree0

60 odd mil maybe?

Not sure which "top clubs" might be interested though, and I don't think there would be many.

Cleverley would have interest alright because of his age/potential but I can't see any of the others gaining as much interest from "top clubs". Most of them would have to make do with staying in England.

Agree0 Disagree0

And your point is?

That God awful squad of ours finished second on goal difference to The Richest Club In The World (tm)!

I hope you don't ever go to Old Trafford.

Agree0 Disagree0

It all depends on the way you look at things, for instance I could make a similar statement and ask you how much you think we would get for Rooney, Nani, Valencia, Vidic, DDG etc. and what top European teams would buy them. Like I said it all depends on whether your glass is half full or half empty.

CnM

Agree0 Disagree0

Silva Bros - 5m (both)
Evans - 5m
Carrick + Anderson + Park = 15m
Welbeck + Berba = 15m

Total Less then 40m :D :p

Agree0 Disagree0

Your a bit harsh.
Clev would command a fee of around 17-20m because like everyone we look at he is a talent and is only getting better.

Anderson- around 10m maybe a touch more but no huge clubs maybe someone like Porto where he came from.

Welbeck- after the season he's had your looking at 20m and there would be several large European clubs be interested.

Rafeal- just called up for brazil, getting much better IMO proberly around 8m but I doubt united would sell ATM tbh.

Berbatov- as it's been shown alot of European clubs some of them large are interested. IMO he's one he'll of a player just doesn't fit the style saf is trying to produce.

Carrick again about 8m because of his age but although snubbed by England he has been great for us this year.

Evans- had a fantastic season! I wrote him off last year!! But he's proved me wrong! Again he would command a fee of around 8-10m. You've got to think that ATM Evans is in our first team united wouldn't sell first team players for peanuts. He's worth holding on to!

Just look at remires at Chelsea! Last year he was awful tbh. I thought 24m on this! But he's been a great player this year!
The problem you have my friend is you expect every player Manchester united own to be of a value of 20m plus! You have to have squad players and you have to have up and coming youngsters!

City are buying teams of superstars and look at the squabbles they have! And goes to show there best player by a million miles this season is kompany who cost 6.75m and joe hart who cost what... 250,000!

Rant over!

Agree0 Disagree0

OK, here's an estimate...

The Da Silvas - 4-6 million each
Evans - 8 million
Carrick 12-15 million
Anderson 6-10 million
Cleverley 6-10 million
Park 4 million
Welbeck 12-15 million
Berba 4-5 million

Lots of English clubs outside the 'top four' would be interested in most players and there would definitely be interest in Berba and Anderson from abroad. Welbeck is on the verge of maturity and I see him as the hotest property in the list

Nip

Agree0 Disagree0

Great point.Somebody might take a chance on the silvas,Anderson is injury prone,so I'm not sure about him.but the rest would either end up warming a bench or being let go!
Non of them would get there game at real Madrid,barca,city or Bayern Munich for that matter.
It kills me when fergie says,'sure we have a great squad'...it's a joke!

Agree0 Disagree0

Da silvas 12 mil for the two
Evans 9 mil to the right buyer
Carrick 12 mil
Anderson 8 mil
Clev 8 mil
Park 5 mil
Welbeck 15 mil because of his potential
Berbatov 7 mil

If you are trying to show how weak the team is. You are crazy.

Think about th rest of the team
Vida ... Beast of a player
Wayne .... Beast
Scholes ... Beast
Valencia ... Beast
Ashley ...rapid

Agree0 Disagree0

You also forget about
Vidic
Rooney
Valencia
Scholes
Evra
Nani

Agree0 Disagree0

Rafael Da Silvas - 6 million
Fabio Da Silva - 4 million
Evans - 12 million
Carrick - 10 million
Anderson - 8 million
Cleverley - 8 million
Park - 3 million
Wellbeck - 20 million
Berba - 7 million
Total - 78 million
Though what this proves I don't know. The original poster wants a load of expensive per-Madonnas (City). Whilst I want a potent integrated team, that's United. Wanting a bunch of "marquee" players (hate that silly tabloid meaningless term), reveals the only taste you have is on your tongue.

People need to stop going on about Vidal. He will stay at Juve, he is awesome but he's happy there. Juve's players will not leave unless Conte wants them to, as he's turned the club around & it's a happy ship now. {Ed007's Note - That barber/shampoo guy that died?}

The Way I see it, Owen has gone & released the No 7 Shirt for a true legend with experience. Do not be surprised to see either Raul or more likely Del Piero, both can come off the bench & change a game even at their age. Both Free i think & Both chased by Fergie for years. We will sign 3 or 4 younger players too, including a marquee signing but one of them 2 will be brought in to help the younger exciting players I think. Not a rumour & my own personal opinion after hearing Del Piero would love to give the Premiership a go before he retires. His last game for Juve this weekend. And before you all say it, i'm not living in the past, but I see Del Piero, especially, still has it, even if it's just the last 20 mins chasing a game, he unlocks doors & there is an outcry in Italy that he's not going to the Euros, cos he is still so good. Just a thought. MAD DOG

Believable7 Unbelievable23

What I think is people need to stop suggesting it would be a good idea to sign Drogba, Raul or Del Piero on a free.

G.A.G.U.S

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe G.A.G.U.S & i see where ur coming from, but he could still do 20-30 mins to change a game & right now we don't have a Teddy or Ole to come off the bench. He's also on a Free & rather him than Owen any day of the week. Not saying he should be our only signing, far from it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you think that? didn't we give the no.7 shirt to ronaldo when he was young and haven't really made a name for himself yet? it'lll be for hazard i think if he comes, i cna't see kagawa having it. Surely, i don't think SAF would give it to Nani or Young. Valencia maybe, but i dont realy think so either. Hopefully, it'll be hazard.

Raul has gone to Al Sadd. I think it depends on the state of the club.
If we are now in a position where we need to be looking at free transfers then obviously Del Piero isn't a bad shout.
I really hope we're not in that position though.
Dingle

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with G.A.G.U.S, i think United would be mad to sign any more players in their 30's, i believe it was to many ageing legs on the pitch at one time which ultimatley cost us the title, the Everton game was prime example of this.
